- The Middle Ages are often thought to have been dark and backward times. Was it really like that?
Many interesting, events happened during these times. Empires like Byzantium have risen and fallen, kingdoms like France or England fought deadly wars and plagues like Black Death devastated the landscape several times.
Video is a satire. It shows how past conflicts may have looked like in a humorous way - countryballs animation

The fact that on the black death scene he included that Poland was not affected a lot is so funny but also cool
Every time i was playing Crusaders Kings 2 as Poland Black Death didn't affect me a lot. I am happy creator of this game aplied this
Poland got so lucky with that XD
It was because our infrastructure was so bad. Roads were one of the worst in Europe and Poland hadn't got a lot of big cities where black death developed. Also Poland hadn't got a lot of merchants so noone could bring it.

if they were ill they were not let in if not they were allowed to go inside

Yeah it genuinely pleases me. It sort of reminds me of a cartoon i would of seen when i was 5. Plus the animations are soooo smooth

The gray is the Tangut empire, the yellow is the Jin/Yurchen dynasty and the red one is the Song dynasty (all are Chinese dynasties that ruled until they were conquered by the Mongol empire)

(just a precision : coat of arms of House Capet is, indeed, blue with fleur-de-lis, but the flag of the realm was white with (more) fleur-de-lis).
I can add than Merovingians and Carolingians kings use also blue and gold flowers, but kings or houses coats are not the same thing as national colors. We could compare that with England : national flag is red st.george cross on white, House coat would be, for Lancaster, the red rose)
