I heard about "Comfort Girls" a long time ago and was really disappointed when I couldn't find it online anywhere - though some of his other stuff is. He was using the label "ELY" for his work then, so I suppose if he wanted to continue in this direction, he could differentiate it from his mainstream material by going back to that old label.
I hope Eugene gets a chance to create films like that again. As much as I love this channel, it's really unfortunate he can't properly show off his skills in any of these videos
I FOUND THESE WEIRD ARTICLES IN THE YALE NEWS THING ned wrote an article that insulted yale sports and then some guy wrote an article against him defending sports and then ned wrote an apology article LMAO
I like how most of the guys majored in something relevant to their current career (Eugene and Zach in Film Production, Keith in Theater).... and then there’s Ned, who majored in CHEMISTRY from YALE
Oh my gosh I need to see all of Eugene's film and The Fresh Manager before I die. Also I wish Eugene's music video got more attention, but it really puts things into perspective.
Why aren't enough people talking about how Ned majored in Chemistry and graduated from Yale? Come on, that is big deal. I want to know how did he end up on Buzzfeed with such qualifications ?
What you major in doesnt define what your future occupation will be.. i am in highschool and ‚majoring‘ in arts even though i want to focus on economics later Though it is insanely impressive that ned majored from one of the best universities in the world in chemistry.. chapeau

I remember reading comments on that video comparing Eugene's uncluttered, clean lines to Stanley Kubrick's visual aesthetic. He could translate ideas and intense emotions into film very well.

Okay, but Eugene is obviously brilliant at film making/directing. I want to see more of his dramatic stuff!!! The world needs things that make them uncomfortable sometimes.
I really like Eugenes past videos, even if they’re pure gore. I feel like they meet a more political topic. The first one school shootings(perhaps, I can’t recall them saying a topic) and the second one Korean beauty standards and the history of the rape and pillage. I just think that Eugenes past films has a deeper meaning.
Now that is the ultimate use of one's gifts - creating that film reflecting culture past and present.. how the ladies go under the knife to get "that look" people associate with Asian/Korean beauty.. it's horrific what these girls subject themselves to. I wish I too could see Eugene's piece. It looks phenomenal and powerful.

Most of the chemists I know are actually very artistic/musical/witty/creative in the time we are allowed out of the lab.

Ned majoring in chemistry at Yale speaks volumes with so few words.
young keith: oddly attractive. like, im definitely into it...
young ned: looks like that guy from the inbetweeners
oh my god ned does look like that woah
Ike he looks just like jay
@@elizabethberg3432 jay, definitely.
Young Ned looks like the guy from 'Malcom in the Middle'!
ikr ned look like jay
Keith 1000 yard stare at 14:16 after watching Eugene's video 😂
I hope Eugene gets to make more creative things like he used to do. I get that it's controversial, graphic, and not for everyone, but as a fellow creative I'd love to see him try making something like that again on a personal channel or something.
Cudnt agree more 👍👍👍
Agreed!
I really like that ned's barstool-esque video was played at graduation of one of the most renowned college in the country
ned how the heck did you end up at buzzfeed from being a chem major. please tell the story
Sam I also want to hear this story
Mary Pratt same!
not even like just a chem major... like this bitch went to YALE for it? what the hell i need to know what happened
He was definitely taking a “safe” path in life by majoring in chem at Yale. Having a fallback is a very “Ned” thing.
They saw the video from the yale graduation and hired him on the spot!
Eugene has such a great potential as a film director. Impressive
HOW TF DID NED END UP IN BUZZFEED WHEN HE MAJORED IN CHEMISTRY IN YALE????
that's probably exactly what he was thinking while he worked at buzzfeed
Most people don't get jobs that relate to thrir major
I hope Eugene gets a chance to create films like that again. As much as I love this channel, it's really unfortunate he can't properly show off his skills in any of these videos
So true..
I FOUND THESE WEIRD ARTICLES IN THE YALE NEWS THING ned wrote an article that insulted yale sports and then some guy wrote an article against him defending sports and then ned wrote an apology article LMAO
yaledailynews.com/blog/2008/04/18/fulmer-apologizes-for-inflammatory-column/
Yikes.
Where do I find Eugene's short films?
Serious inquiry.
Eugene making that really Twin Peaks esque film and then saying "and then I went to Buzzfeed" is a mood.
I got Lynchian vibes as well!
I like how most of the guys majored in something relevant to their current career (Eugene and Zach in Film Production, Keith in Theater)....
and then there’s Ned, who majored in CHEMISTRY from YALE
You gotta love Ned💋sis snapped
Its so great seeing Eugene's success but it does suck seeing such amazing creativity being watered down for a more "mainstream" audience.
Canada
Oh my gosh I need to see all of Eugene's film and The Fresh Manager before I die. Also I wish Eugene's music video got more attention, but it really puts things into perspective.
Why aren't enough people talking about how Ned majored in Chemistry and graduated from Yale? Come on, that is big deal. I want to know how did he end up on Buzzfeed with such qualifications ?
I think it was because he wasn't happy with his major and was more drawn towards film production.
he graduated and worked in chemistry for years before moving to LA @@riancarl5239
What you major in doesnt define what your future occupation will be.. i am in highschool and ‚majoring‘ in arts even though i want to focus on economics later
Though it is insanely impressive that ned majored from one of the best universities in the world in chemistry.. chapeau
Or the fact that Zach went to freaking Emerson!!!!
I remember watching a whole video about his career change but I cannot remember where. It does exist on UA-cam though if you are curious enough to find it
I really hope Eugene will pick up making short films again - I absolutely adore his style. It's so good, gave me chills! Greetings from Germany.
Yeah noch jemand deutsches :)
The first thing I notice is Eugene’s nails they be nice
SAME i was looking for this comment!!
In love with his nails!
Literally just watched Eugene's short film and my jaw is dropped. Fearless in his ideas. Eugene needs to make horror movies post Try Guys.
Or add horror aspects to some of the try guys videos
I really really REALLY want to see all of Eugene's short films. Full length, no censors.
Same
Isabella Baquial saaaame!
Me too
Same here! DM me if you find it!
I FOUND IT! It's called "Comfort Girls" and it's on IMDb
Man, Eugene is mad talented.
Dude, feel free to push the content you want on your personal channel.
That video seemed incredible and important. You've always been the best Buzzfeed had, I hope you get out there and can fund your projects again.
Much love man. ❤️
Even without The Try Guys, the Buzzfeed content Eugene directed was highly distinct from all the other content created under the Buzzfeed brand. Along with continued success for The Try Guys channel, I hope for the chance to see more of Eugene's vision. I still revisit Eugene's _Generations Throughout History_ video once a month.
xBeautifulDizaster That video really was beautiful,,
I remember reading comments on that video comparing Eugene's uncluttered, clean lines to Stanley Kubrick's visual aesthetic. He could translate ideas and intense emotions into film very well.
I absolutely LOVE Keith's pizza video. His acting and eye contact are haunting and his voice is so deep and the song IS great! I'd love for them to recreate it
Y’all missed an opportunity to name this video “Who where the guys before they tried?”
Carly Whited IM CRYING 😭😂😂
This is my favorite comment on the internet

LETS SEE KEITH PLAY HIS FRENCH HORN IN 2020

Lap sitting video
Wow, I would LOVE to see Eugene's short film. That literally spoke about Korea's beauty standards alot.
Petition for Eugene to show his full short film!
yEs
YES PLSSSSSSS
Len will do
yesss!!!!
ned doing that pose in his instagram saying "WhAt cOuNtRy aRe yOu fRom" in front of the cars is the first thing that comes to mind
Eugene has so much potential it broke my heart just now
*Zach’s vid*
Eugene: so uh there’s one Asian guy?
Zach: *chuckles*
Eugene: d-do do you maybe ever notice that there’s a pattern here?
Everyone: HAHAHAHH
bc they were 4 dudes and only 1 asian
I really want to see the storyline of how Ned went from graduating from Yale with Chemistry major to being at Buzzfeed. I’m from Russia!
Привет!!!! Я люблю try guys😍😍
Some UA-camrs have other jobs too
SAME
RUSSSSSSSSSSSSIA
Ох, не думала что кто-то из России их смотрит😂
Also can we just take a moment to appreciate Keith’s singing. WHY THE FUCK is he so good at it, I think he should get more credit. Also those high notes tho. POP THE FUCK OFF SIS (Keith your amaze balls)
HES AN AWESOME SINGER! MADE FOR BROADWAY
Okay, but Eugene is obviously brilliant at film making/directing. I want to see more of his dramatic stuff!!! The world needs things that make them uncomfortable sometimes.
So Ned majored chemistry at yale but now he is baking pi pies on youtube
asian yeetness I
asian yeetness yeah
well when you think about it, baking involves chemistry
I really like Eugenes past videos, even if they’re pure gore. I feel like they meet a more political topic. The first one school shootings(perhaps, I can’t recall them saying a topic) and the second one Korean beauty standards and the history of the rape and pillage. I just think that Eugenes past films has a deeper meaning.
Same, I would love to see more of his stuff!
Lol - Ned insisting he was playing a character of a douchey fratboy
Hmm
Okay how are we all glossing over the fact that Eugene is talented AF????? I really want to see his old work!
Are Eugene’s videos available on UA-cam? I actually wanna watch the full things now I’m really curious.
Can we see Ned do chemistry, or like the try Guys perform simple chemistry experiments? 😱
right omg!! that would be so fun
“TRY GUYS TRY SCIENCE”
THEY SHOULD HAVE A SCIENCE FAIR AND NED COULD BE THE JUDGE!!!
YES!!!
Yesss! Ned teaches the other guys chemistry
