- We are back with a video specifically requested by a commenter in the original hacked and fake Pokémon video that I made over a year ago. The point of this video is to give you some tips and tricks to spot hacked Pokemon in the GTS BEFORE you trade and how to double check them AFTER. As always, my goal here is simply to educate you to help you from trading away your favorite Pokemon for hacked or genned ones. Also since this video is about Pokémon Home it really applies to any Pokemon games as Pokemon Legends Arceus and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will both get Pokemon Home support soon!

I traded a furfrou for a shiny Latias and I think it’s legit. 4IV, max lair, no evs, no ribbons, horrible moveset
Sounds legit based on that description!
You can further confirm by checking Latias’ moveset after you catch it in a dynamax adventure. The moveset is fixed for every Pokémon in dynamax adventures

tbh if I was hacking pokemon that I wanted to pass as legit, I'd just add shiny to boxes of pokemon and stop.
Couldn’t you just hack 4 perfect IVs that happen to be best in slot? It actually requires less effort to do this..
Most likely the region of the trainer and the pokémon are different, because the trainer retrades it
I used to do it myself when someone offered to trade a legendary pokémon for a high-level ditto (for example), I would do a trade and then put that pokémon on gts to trade it for one that was more interesting to me
But btw, now I think 60% of those rare pokemonauts I got on trade were probably fake
I sometimes use fake pokemon but I'm not the type of person to trick people into trading for fake pokemon

i wouldn't put as much weight on language as you are, but I broadly agree with the point.
I generally do an English first run then a French second run of the games, and I use both accounts to shiny hunt. (Usually, shiny legendaries would be from my secondary French account, because I want to just get it in my dex on the first run.)
My HOME account is also a French trainer ID because I started my HOME account in French before switching it to English... But most of my 'spare' shinies from breeding would have my English OT instead...
So it's not foolproof as a 'they didn't catch this themselves' thing, but like I said, it's definitely a datapoint.
I sometimes go through 3 different Pokémon to get the one I want and usually they are from different countries so it isn’t really a factor to me
That's the funny thing I thought. I started other language saves to get event pokemon of odd languages during B/W, but now they must be hacked because they don't match my language?

I used the 8F glitch in Pokemon RBY to make all legendary shiny (and some non-legendaries like Charizard and Dragonite), as well as to "legalize" the nugget bridge glitch mew, then traded those to my copy of Crystal in virtual console, used the cloning glitch and made a bunch of them holding rare candies, got them all up to level 50, some to lvl 100, sent them to Pkmn Bank and then to Home with the hope of getting some good trades (especially for the Shiny 8F-Mew), to realize that I can not place mew into the GTS, I still have a bunch of shiny Mewtwos and legendary birds if someone is looking for one.
Yesterday I got that shiny incenoroar, what is funny is that I was shiny hunting a litten using masuda method

Pokemon Black and white and black and white 2 are not just the best Pokemon games but the greatest games in existence. Gen 5 is the pinnacle of Pokemon and will always be.
I have a shiny lvl 100 Chs Dialga and I’m about to buy a switch and violet, it’s in a beast ball and has great IVs, so sad to learn it’s fake, it has every sign of it being fake 😢😢😢
The real question is why does it matter if they are fake shiny? I mean if you want legit shiny mons the only true way is to hunt them yourself. Since 99% of shiny mons on gts or wonder trade are fake. Even if they dont have good iv, nature, ability, ball, game, or moves.
you always run the risk, Nintendo is especially against it.
@@artexjay I don't really care at all. If you want a shiny mon get one. I like to shiny hunt and have done so forever but that doesn't mean I care what someone else does. I'm against Nintendo restricting what mons we're allowed to use in different games. That's absolutely unacceptable. Much more unacceptable than a fake shiny mon
My guess is it devalues the rarity of Pokémon, I'm not sure. Or they're scared that Nintendo will ban them online for using genned Pokémon even if it is legal and they want a legitimate Pokémon. (in reality I don't think Nintendo cares that much unless you use an illegal/impossible Pokémon like Wonder Guard Sableye or something like that). I personally don't care it's fake or not, I'll be happy getting a Shiny Greninja thru wonder trade/GTS either way since I don't use them for online battles all that much. The worst ones however is those fake Pokémon the hackers put in the GTS (mostly gen 6 and 7, I'm not sure about Pokemon Home nor the switch games) that bricked your 3DS and get you banned for something that's not even your fault, those are the ones I hate.
beside from ot and I.D I also check the date if its match to description on serebii.. I usually use pokémon home so I can check the date, ot and I.d..
I know im very late but sorry to burst everyones bubble but 99.9% of shiny legendary pokemon are hacked but legal except for the hacked legends that have nore then 31 evs in a stat or have move they shouldnt know. Which home now looks for obvious hacked mons but cant see the hacked/ cloned pokemon kf everything is normal.

- Japanese trainer
- Hardy nature
- 4ivs
- Repeat ball
- No ribbons/marks
- along with 4perfect Ives
One is very good and other is decent.

What makes that not legit
What would you do if you would sit in a room with every person that traded you a fake mon? And what would you do in a room with all ppl that show you shinys in home trade to change the trade 3 seconds before it starts
i traded a furfrou for a shiny latias, and I believe its legit. Bad evs, sorta good ivs, caught with an ultra ball, and it seems like it came from pokemon soul silver or heart gold.

I put up legitimate Regielekis that I caught on Pokemon Go onto the GTS to get some things I wanted like Pharoah Furfrou (because I'm working on a living dex), but it took a very long time for them to be traded. So, I guess a lot of people may have thought it was not legitimate though they came from PoGo?

Let's say I'm looking for a Swampert shiny, lvl 45 but with the icon of Pokemon Shield knowing its a starter from gen 3 and his ball is an ultra ball. Is there event in Pokemon SnS for gen 3 starters?

But also a lot of conjectures. Most of it is true but in my case I've traded legit Legendary pokemons just because of the language or nicknames the pokemon has.
Good insight into how “dedicated” Pokémon grinders are. But by your standards, couldn’t you just hack 4 perfect IVs that happen to be best in slot? It actually requires less effort to do this.. everything else is manageable. IVs are the biggest deterrent for any competitive play. I say just get rid of the dang thing or have everyone have perfect IVs
13:19 - About the ribbons... could still be legit.
Here's an example... granted, mine was not a legendary (PS: I do use Synchronizers; I have boxes full of Abras for just that).
I bred hundreds of Absols, trying to get a female 6IV (in Pokemon Moon, when I didn't even have a shiny charm). I bred a full odds shiny before I got a perfect. I didn't even have the shiny charm at the time. My Ditto is not perfect. So, I swapped it out for a male and female Absol that I bred by swapping parents several times, and then, the shiny Absol had 5IVs (unfortunately "Pretty Good" Attack). However, I bred so many in my quest for a female shiny, that I did get several 5IV Absols (not shiny) with not perfect Sp. Att. I didn't have the heart to release them. So, what did I do? I put them in Pelago and EV trained them all. Then, I took them out of Pelago, quickly ran them through ribbons (I did not get them EVERY ribbon, but I got them the easier ones). Then, I just Wonder traded away several boxes of these effective perfect, EV trained Absols with ribbons, because I figured that someone would be very happy to receive them.
I also did something similar for all the Alolan starters, Mawile, Vulpix (the latter two being in Apricorn balls, or not... because both parents weren't in Apricorn balls; so, some were lucky; others were not), Goomy. I did similar things for other things I bred, but didn't give out hundreds of them like I did for some of these. PS: I also gave them egg moves and taught them moves via TM before doing this.
Just putting this out there, so people know that avid breeders do exist, who might do these things. If you get an effective perfect, EV trained Critsol from the GTS or Wonder Trade with OT Ana or Thomas, they could be my well-loved breejects that I didn't have the heart to just release into the wild (with 4 different OT numbers, because I did this on 4 cartridges, 2 on my husband's games, and 2 on mine).
When shiny hunting, I have even hatched eggs, unsaved, traded the eggs to a different cart to see if it would shine hatching there.
I also eventually gave up on EV training and ribboning them all, because it gets tiresome after a while. So, sorry if you're one of the unlucky ones who received the neglected breejects. I still sometimes run them through quick easy ribbons though... love rainbow beans in Alola.
If Bank gets shut down, I might even continue breeding in Sword and Shield (I will always prefer breeding in Alola though). RIP Absol in SV.
To this day, I still give out some of those breejects from 2017 and beyond, through Wonder Trade on Moon and Home, and sometimes, I just go back and breed more, still trying to get that illusive female 6IV shiny, and I am also sometimes levelling a batch simultaneously in Pelago. So, they might even be level 100 by the time they're given out.
I personally don't give out my shinies though, unless they're from Go.
What’s up bros. Last night I threw out a shiny Dialga from Pokémon Go into the GTS for a Miraidon.. I figured it was a long shot but I’ll let it cook overnight. Checked this morning and realized someone accepted the trade; Beast Ball hyper trained Miraidon, Modest by nature.. I think it’s hacked but took awhile to figure that out since I assumed Home has their hack check protocols
I traded a lopunny for gallade and once I got the gallade it was level 62, no ribbons, I don't know about the IVs because I am new to pokemon home nor do I know about the EVS. It has Swords Dance, Psychic, Leaf Blade, and Close Combat, and it has no ability. Is My Japanese Gallade hacked? It also came from the Hisui region. Btw the trainer also had a japanese username, so I'm pretty sure the trainer is Japanese.
Edit: I just checked now and it appears the Gallade was caught inside a Wing Ball.
Xp candies are in the game lvl 100 shouldn't really be a red flag since it's not difficult to get large amounts of them lol

I have a handful of alternate language Meloettas from starting new saves to re-download the event in White. But I guess they are hacked now because my English home has them.
How do a fake pokemon effect you game in pokemon sword?
I got a lvl 100 Shiny Cobalion in a trade. Never seen it before so didn't know and traded. I had to do a looooot of double checking. Came from Pokemon Bank. Really struggling with it. :p

Wait so I have a question, say you were traded a clearly hacked foreign ditto (I got mine from JPN), if you use that to masuda method breed pokemon, are those pokemon considered legit/hacked or fake? I don't know if it carries over but I would appreciate anyone's help in clarifying
Nope! The eggs themselves are fine. At least most of the community considers it that way as the eggs and bred Pokemon never touched hacking software themselves

will yeas and no thay could have gotten them in a trade way its not very common yeas its possible to have legendary and mystical on something others then a master ball and not won'ted it so it was traded

@@LetsNotit’s in a Level ball, no markings, and was met on 5/22/2023. I think it’s hacked their id was 65460. It also had little to no IVs trained, no ribbons too and it’s gentle natured it also came from Pokémon bank and couldn’t find their name on the blacklist
Traded a furfrou for a 6iv shiny lvl 100 charizard but it has the blaze ability and impish nature and also bad ev placement and the ot name is Jay
I received a Level 25 Giratina in a Wonder Trade. Normally I could say for certain it’s fake, but I noticed it was caught in Pokémon GO.
No, I don’t know how CP translated to levels and stats when transferred to the main games, so I don’t know for certain if it’s possible for it to be legit.
Afaik GO mons cannot be hacked if they have the pogo stamp
You can get level 1 fully evolved pokemon in Pokemon Go.
I have a hunch that Premier Ball pokemon from Go cannot be level 1 because Raid/Shadow pokemon won't come to at that low CP.
But the translation is simpler and more complicated than you think. More or less, Pogo pokemon 'have' a level. You just can't see the value. CP is a combination of its 3 stats and IVs. A level 1 pokemon could have 10 CP, because of its low base stats, or 16 CP, because of its high base stats. etc.
Someone probably has an easy chart to tell what level your pokemon would be in Home based on the rank of your pogo account (as max CP is tied to rank)
I traded a real ho oh a few days ago because i recieved a shiny from pokemon go from a event i missed out so i gave it to somebody in return and i may had my name with yt tagged so its still legit dont be too suspicious you may delete my real ones 😊
You get legendarys in pokemon go at lvl 20 so its probably legit
i got a wonder trade shiny grimmsnarl that is level 60 and japenese with japenese OT with spirit break,foul play,shadow claw and nasty plot. Nature is adament and ability is prankster. cant tell if its legit or fake. Its stuck there in my home account since 2020 coz i am too afraid to put it in my games
Well I got a rayquaza today by well I deposit my chimchar didn’t think no one would get It I did get one and it was from Pokémon home from the 3ds and actually had a English name and everything just the groundon idk if my is fake he looks legit but has a Japan name

Not sure how you could tell if there fake, if they look the exact same. Since the majority of them are clones and all the OT and ID'S are the exact same. Would be hard to figure out. Be a good video though.

I traded with someone in X and finally got a legit looking Pokéball pattern Vivillon from it. However, after completing the trade I saw that the date of obtainment was January 1st, 2000, which obviously is not true. How likely is it hacked and if it is would it be problematic to transfer it to Home? Everything else looks perfectly normal about it.
You can change the time on the 3ds.

Honestly the language thing is not that big of a giveaway now because the switch profiles. I have both a spanish and an english save file in different profiles that I use for different things. So always be careful but just remember you can't be 100% sure in the GTS
I love playing Pokemon and I love collecting all the ribbons and I have a lot of shiny Pokemon that are rare but I don't need a Discord to help people get good Pokemon I like to help people get legitimate stuff but I do it my way not using Discord or twitch cuz I don't have the capabilities of using those and I don't like showing my face
Hey letsnot, are these safe to use offline for fun. Thought i got lucky two nights ago joined a den online, had a shiny. But today saw the same guy hosting again, joined, and the exact same shiny. Caught it, and stats and nature are the same. So obviously some type of clone hack his using. Really like the shiny rilou lol, so wondering are these pokemon fine to use offline for fun. Wouldn't bring them online. And today caught a 5iv Timid (not HA) ninetails in another shiny den. Are these hacked?

-It's japanese.
-was found at lvl 40 in a raid den the 15/08/2020, it's a gigantamax one.

You won’t get banned for using a “hacked” pokemon, but that one sounds legit, if it really is dangerous the game itself won’t let you use it

“993401” is a red flag. I’ve seen it on website named pokemon.
Past me, it’s the default number for PkHex (I use it on my emulator which isn’t connected to my switch in any way, shape, or form.) Apparently miltank isn’t in the game files but the move Milk Drink is.
