@@09weenicThat time is incorrect. These two were idiots. They weren’t going to do anything in public. Their attempts to keep her quiet betray their fear of being caught. She absolutely should’ve made a scene.
Think they meant 15:02. I agree it’s frustrating but saying something could have not only put her life at risk, but the shopkeepers etc too. The detective himself is saying she did the right thing
Evelyn - tough as old boots! They don’t make them like her anymore. That generation was a totally different breed. Such a shame and I hope the pond life responsible got its comeuppance
The woman who went with by force the two thugs to get cashback i did not see why she did not Scream in the shop or alert someone i Hope that the offenders both got caught.
The removals lorry was stolen for the contents and was most probably an inside job . Whoever was working there or a friend waited until there was a quality load of furniture and then struck . Between the end of WW ll and about 2005, lorries were often stilen for the export market . There was also good money to be made buying unroadworthy lorries and exporting them , as many countries have less stringent standards of what's considered roadworthy . The body would be taken off and scrapped or resprayed and resold . The cab and chassis would have a line sprayed down the chassis and then be cut into 3 sections . The next chassis would have a different colour sprayed on the chassis . This allowed the mechanics at the other end to differentiate which truck parts were for which truck . Upon arrival in India or Pakistan the trucks would be welded back together and put back into service . A truck chassis is very heavy and awkward to identify when jammed into a shipping container , so thousands of lorries were exported in this fashion . The other reason they cut the chassis into 3 parts was to avoid import tax whe the shipping container arrived at its destination . More modern lorries are generally stolen for parts or put to straight work in dodgier parts of Europe . The multitude of computers and sensors make partial dismatling and subsequent reassembly more difficult and much easier to identify . Modern tracking systems, many of which alert the owner if the truck deviates off the planned route , plus ANPR cameras have almost completely stopped truck thefts when the intention is to steal for parts . Lorry hijacking in order to steal the load still occurs on occasion . So if the furniture lorry had never been found again , it would probably have been stolen for export , but as it was and presumably not missing any major ( expensive ) parts , it was stolen for the contents .
£150k reward? With inflation that accounted for that would be more like £250k in 2004, enough to buy a big house at that time. I wonder if anyone claimed that?
The Bonnie and Clyde seem crazy. The whole story, no shop assistants being suspicious, bizarre behaviour like wanting to swap clothes in the middle of it, then shouting, "Don't tell anyone" as she was getting on to the train. Making a scene like that.

You mean to tell me that that woman walked into so many shops with those two idiots criminals without shouting that she was being robbed? I mean I am struggling to think who is the dumbest out of the three.
They were absolute morons but she was high up on the chain stupid herself. Any major shop or even on the high street would’ve worked as a place to scream and make her stand.
She was held at gunpoint by a pair of aggressive morons - she wont be used to anything approaching that level of foul behaviour - shes alive thats the main thing
So you're telling me that if someone pointed a gun at you and threatened to shoot you, you would risk being shot and shout that you were being robbed. You sound pretty dumb.
25 year Heroin and crack addict and robbed shops daily but I never ever considered robbing old people or any people at all and I would never have attacked an old lady for any reason even if she had a million Pound in cash it's not something I could do
I know you don’t know what would happen unless you were in someone’s situation but that cash back lady had so many opportunities to just scream or run or tell a cashier.

The sculpture of that girl with the fawn is absolutely beautiful.

It’s a gun
I actually rewatched that bit twice 😂😂😂😂

Yes theres a slight difference.
Frustrating that the woman in the cash-back case didn't just tell the shopkeeper what was happening, they probably would have legged it.
I think the detectives answer at 5:02 says it all . Hopefully the both of them were caught
