What a great story about a master craftsman and artist. He deserves to be much more famous than he is. So many people are becoming famous for nothing these days and this man with his extraordinary talent deserves to be recognized with the great artists of the day. I've never really understood why great wood artists never achieve the recognition of the great painters when wood sculptures can be just a beautiful as paintings and take just as much skill to produce. Congratulations to Osvaldo Orellana for leading the life of a true artist. Very inspiring to hear your story and see your amazing work!

I first saw the work of this amazing man, Osvaldo Arellana, at the Los Angeles County fair. I had been told that there was an amazing wood carver there with some of his work on display. So, I was expecting something good, but what I saw there staggered me. I saw wondrous things, magnificent things, all created by a man whom I have come to believe is one of the greatest artists of our time. As I stood there in stunned silence, I couldn't believe that the wonderful things I was seeing could be the work of a mere human being. I tried later to describe his work to others, but all the puny adjectives I could muster fell far short of even coming close to doing it justice. It has to be seen to be believed, and even then it defies the imagination.
And now, I'm so grateful to have discovered this documentary and learned the almost unbelievable story of how Osvaldo got his start as a wood-carving artist. I was first shocked, then delighted as the truth unfolded before my eyes. How appropriate that this truly remarkable man, this creative genius, should have such a stunning and remarkable life story behind him. Hey, Chiliano, good for you.

My dad made statues like Paul Bunyan,Bobs Big na ,Big boy ,Taco bell boy,Ford Mustang horse and several other iconic fiberglass statues and after he retired he carved out of wood mostly horses cowboys and Indians but his carvings were taken from my moms house in clarkston Washington when she passed 16 years ago and family is still looking for them

Señor Osvaldo es usted un genio, solo usted es capaz de hacer esas maravillas en madera...lo que nunca imagine que le hubiera sucedido eso en mi país (México) y que su experiencia en el reclusorio hubiera sido tan positiva y determinante en carrera, cuando empezó a relatar de se estancia en México creí que su experiencia habia sido mala...pero nunca imagine que fuera lo contrario estando en un reclusorio.
