Thanks for the information on the Viper4android (advanced audio EQ) settings. I used your settings as a starting point and it sounds great (AVIN 2 Universal 7”). At 1:40, you talk about the LF, MF, and HF settings . Those sliders control the frequency that the adjacent bass, mid, and treble sliders will boost or attenuate. They are not crossovers/low pass/high pass filters. There is a sub low pass filter in another menu, but I haven't seen a high pass filter that will roll off bass to the door speakers.
***** Matt, how did you find this out? Tommy says they are crossovers, but that doesn't make sense to me. I am having trouble getting this equilizer to sound the way I want. Really with it was just bass/treble, with a traditional equalizer.
adampa1006 No hard data, just from what I observed and what makes sense. I trust Tommy's information though. Where did you see Tommy's info about these controls being for crossovers? If you put the mid and treb sliders to zero (zero gain), crank up the bass gain slider (BASS), and then slide the LF control up and down, you will hear the bass boost frequency change. In other words the frequency for LF seems to be the center frequency of you bass boost and the bass slider controls that gain. The same is true for the other two controls Mid is gain for MF and treb is gain for HF. As far as making sense, the radio has two types of audio outputs. Sub out and main out. The Sub low pass filter is controlled in the main settings under audio. So if there was a high pass filter for the main output, it seems like that would be a single frequency slider to pick that crossover frequency. Why would you have three frequency controls? Like you said, that doesn't make sense. Don't know for sure, but those controls don't seem to set a crossover frequency. I have been using the crossover built-in to my amplifier that I use to run my door speakers so not having a high pass crossover in the Avant wasn't a big deal.
+Matt Tucker Hey Matt thanks for this reply. Tommy said they are crossover frequencies but that can't be right, I think you are right. I'm running a 5 channel amp from the head unit and its great! Besides a wee bit of crackle on my tweeters in the front (components)
Great Video Bro! Thanx for your time in making this video & showing all the sound settings in the Avant 2. I've been on the fence about this unit for my E46 but after watching your video I think I'll go ahead & pull the trigger!!
I had bad experience with Dinavin in the past, but this Avant 2 looks promising. After reading and watching Videos like this which is particularly well elaborated, I've purchased a unit that should be coming soon. Nice you dont have to wait months to have an Android unit like it happened in the past with the Dynavin. I have aftermarket Amps that I will keep though..
Maybe I should try the AVANT2 build in 4chan amp. Since I was not statisfied with it in the AVANT1 I connected an external amp but with this I have sound influence from some powercables within the car. If the subwoofer crossover is now working fine I maybe should give it a try instead of rearranging all amp cables.
Can you adjust the volume of individual apps? The HERE navigation app is way too loud compared to the radio or other media playing apps. I want to either turn down HERE or turn up the other apps.
