My hair doesn't grow and breaks alot. I went to the salon for a consultation and they told me ny hair is too dry. Now that I learned this method my hair stays nice and soft with no breakage. Hopefully it finally starts to grow

I like the loc method because it locks the moisture in better where that oil stays longer in your hair because the cream is on top of it❤

Your hair looks great! When I started my natural hair journey I was using the loc method; however I decided to switch to the lco method and for me that worked better for my low porosity, low density hair. I love love love…advocado oil. It leaves my hair feeling very moisturized.

I spent most of this summer doing the LOC method and my hair isn't happy. I am going to try the LCO and let's see what happens. Because no matter how much I moisturize, my hair is dry. Thank you Shell, I love your videos!

Great video! I lean toward LOC with the cream mainly on my ends. My hair is similar to yours and I notice the LOC method gives me the best hydration and moisture retention. 💫♡

I did LOC first. I started doing LCO later. I do twistout so for me, LOC gives me more of a deep wave where LCO gives me more of a coily longated wash and go. I discovered that with the LOC the oil effects my curl pattern which I believe is why I get more of a wave instead of a coil.

The LCO method works better for my low porosity fine hair. I use a dyi oil that consists of 3oz of sweet almond oil, 3oz of Jamaican black castor oil, 15 drops of peppermint, tea tree, rosemary oils. The liquid is water then aloe vera juice and my leave-in is the Camille Rose Coconut Water Style Setter. My hair has been growing very nicely.

The LOC method on you looks more defined! Both are beautiful but I can see a difference. I have to retry the LOC method because I switched to the LCO method after I found out I had low porosity hair.

I had the same issue starting out on my natural hair journey. My hair was dry after using coconut oil and I switched to olive oil & jamaican black castor oil. I can't decide what method looks better Michelle? Your hair looks gorgeous as usual😍 I think my preference is the LOC method.

Thank you for sharing LCO vs LOC. The struggle was extremely real and I thought I was looking like New Shmoney queen. I’m truly LOC for the summer months and LCO for the winter months my hair loves both.🧞‍♀️💕

This was extremely helpful Shell. You are so real, and it encourages me so much to know that others took a while to find out what worked for them, coz I’m still there 10 and a half years later! Anyway, to me the right side (well our right side 😆), the LCO method looks a lot smoother although both sides look good.

I agree that taking care of natural hair is an educational journey with lots of trials and errors. 🙂 I never knew there were two different methods (LCO & LOC) until recently. I appreciate your kindness to help others like myself, who are new to the natural hair care world. Blessings to you!🙏🏽❤️

Good video Chelle! Please don't say your hair looked like a brillo pad because it does not! The only thing I hate about having natural hair is the cost of these products! I mean damn its expensive. But I am finding out what's working for my hair and what help it retain moisture. I also found a site where you can type in your product name and it tell you if it has chemicals in it not good for you as black women because a lot of these products are killing us! Anyway your hair turned out beautiful as always! 😉💜💜💜 and I prefer the LCO method!

Y’all don’t feel like the oil makes your hair greasy? I haven’t used oil on my hair (except the ends and scalp) for years. I felt like it made my hair feel drier and heavier. Now I’m wondering if I should do LOC instead of LCO. Low porosity hair already acts like it’s sealing moisture out so it didn’t make sense to me to add oil on top in case I wanted to remoisturize before wash day.

No clue what porosity my hair is. At this point it’s just UGHH!!! Products sit on it for the most part, takes forever to dry unless I go out in the sun, doesn’t stay moisturized more than a couple days 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ I always do a leave in, cream, and gel. I make sure my hair is dripping wet in every section I apply product. I don’t do oil, my face will be full of pimples, I’m good on that lol. Thanks for sharing!

And thanks for the video, every-time I would try to take care of my hair with the CGR my curls either lasted less than 12 hours and looked wet (I think bc the product would just sit there instead of being absorbed), or was just so beyond dry and frizzed out like hours after it dried. 🥲
