Concentricity really is a brilliant name for this game. It's built upon concentric layers of circles, it requires a lot of concentration, and the pieces literally come together in the center.
@TheBetterGame game is available in the App Store for iOS. Also, I read on James' website that an Android version will be released later this year. Woo hoo! Google "concentricity tetris" to find documentation
A question for James Clewett: Have you ever played Frenzic? It's also a puzzle game of the similar genre (fill the space to clear it), but with more pattern-matching using colours. I get a similar thrill to Tetris from that one, and it's also very addictive.
@TheHDreality the question is really "does it need the timecode TAKEN OUT". Since it's added in automatically and requires work to remove, for "extras" they often don't bother.
Finally a game that I've played for several hours and the admin scores are still lingering on the high score board, this is wonderfully difficult, that's why it's so addictive, great, great game.
y u no post it on the google market too??!! You are killing me, man. Now I gotta make my mom cry because I am going to get my ipod touch back to play Concentricity =D
Is another element to the addictiveness of the game might be control or something of the sort? I find that when playing another mechanically similar game (for 2 years now), I'm completely empty-headed, zombie-minded and there's this wonderfull breeze of serenity unclogging my otherwise messed up head. It's meditation! Sometimes I forget I am playing, and it is at these times I do the highest scores. =P
Its quite strange because I'm about to start a mechanical engineering degree, and my plan was to do a physics degree couple years after I finish the previous one, just because I like physics so much. I was a hardcore tetris gamer, and I was pretty obsessed about it, to a point in which It made me fail I.T. AS level. What a weird coincidence. Btw, if James decides to grow a goatee, and carry a crowbar around he'd be just like that guy from Half-Life, Gordon Freeman HA!
@entoris476 this is obviously an advertisement for his heroin! and it seems like his "oh I'm just a scientist" act has you hooked already. someone has to stop this guy before its too late and we have to relive the 90s all over again!
top 3 favorite scientist. 1. martyn poliakoff\philip moriarty\james clewett 2.pete licence/ debbie kays/sam tang/neil barnes/stephen liddle 3.tesla by top 3 i mean top 9 squeezed in 3 spots.
what a terrible man, his like a drug deal pushing his geometric puzzles onto the public. we don't need any more! just look what happened in the late 80s and 90s during the game boy boom. so many people lost there childhoods and what did they get in return? good hand 2 eye coordination. SAY NO TO SIMPLE YET LONG LASTING PUZZLES GAMES KIDS
FIVE years and you ARE DOCTOR James Clewett now. Congratulations.
tetris addict is definetly my number one youtubevideo of 2011, really touching and honest!
Great video! James comes off very genuine and thats definitely something completely lacking in most UA-cam videos now.

So, he is doing (or has achieved) a PhD in physics, is a good communicator and he made a game... This person is a genius.
Needs more game footage
Check out the exit sign at 1:00. It's green! I'll have to remember that if I ever visit England.
"I wanna be rich and famous - ah ha ha ha!"
Yep - can't get any more honest there - I know I'd be lying if I said I didn't :D
Knowledge is always free… but i see your point.

it's a shame concentricity isn't on google play.
Augustus Bohn I think “Top 3” has a slightly different set of parameters.

@AskMrScience-
Whenever I'm in the US, I always notice the red EXIT signs, because to me- RED = STOP and GREEN = GO.
@Dirtboy101 yeah - looks like it'd be pretty tricky. for me, anyway, lol. Wonder if a mouse or/and keyboard would be any help...?
@TheHDreality yes
Hey, so you should release it on the US app store :P

it's not in the european either, it's UK exclusive
@TheHDreality Does a hat need a feather?
Does anyone know where he got the tetrominos in the backround?
time to go play tetris!
btw to put it the Google Play Store he will have to re-write it it Java, or find a very good way to port it :(
James needs some Factorio. Or then again maybe he (and his family) doesn't!
@nottinghamscience can you ask him if it can be played online?
@marjan15 i bet he'd enjoy Go.
@Dirtboy101 how are u finding it? intuitive? good?
It's him.......
Do you know how many hours I've spent playing Tetris since the first video?
Why did you have to make me think of it.
It reminds me of a star-trek display. lol
@entoris476 your a good person.
does it really need the timecode?
Laaaaame. I wish I could get it :(
Where do we find this game? I hear a keyboard, so i figure there's a PC version.
Is it available for Android?!! :'-/
