Very interested in developing one as my next project if it makes sense for everyone here at Sienci but still lots to do for the Laser for now -- Ikenna
Hey Sienci - Hoping you can help with this question. I primarily use my longmill for laser engraving with a Banggood '5w' laser. I make end grain cutting boards and I find the engraving slow. Do you think I would be able to run things a bit faster if I upgrade? Any chance you could post some GCode I could run on my existing laser and compare the result to what you achieve with the Sienci laser? If this laser would cut down my engraving times I would be happy to upgrade and keep my old Banggood as a spare. I don't do a lot of super detailed engraving - just text mostly for customized cutting boards.
I have an enclosure on my Longmill CNC router and use a bathroom exhaust fan rated at 50 CFM and the tube goes outside of a vent outside the garage. I only turn it on for the laser and don't use it for the CNC router since that would suck up all the sawdust and burn out the exhaust fan motor. Currently I have a 20 Watt LED Chinese laser that won't cut wood that well. The Old laser has the same setup is the Longmill laser so it will pretty much be plug and play.
Great follow up!! The live stream was fun, even though it had issues. Was happy to have my question answered during the stream and a reminder here. Just got my longmill assembled and on my new work bench. Waiting on some bits to start my first job.
Which Lense would be better for cutting coton Clothing..?
I will be using my Laser on Altmill, do you have any idea on how I can install the Fume extractor ?
This Laser has no Auto Focus... ?
Will the laser glasses fit over prescription glasses?
Yes they have a reasonable amount of space to fit over most prescription glasses
Need a item similar to the dust boot to remove smoke
Definitely! It's something we have in mind to work on
@@SienciLabs It could use the same mount that the dust shoe uses.
Ikennah your awesome
Can we mount the laser to the opposite side of the router to allow for dust shoe? Its going to get annoying to have to remove the laser between uses
Can you engrave on aluminum like tumblers?
Is Sienci considering the future offering of a rotary attachment, similar to the Ortur one?
If they made one, I'd buy it

@@th3oryO I definitely would, also!
