I'm back on Hangers Way next week😀 2 years ago I did it on my own-inspired by you Jim! Beautiful walk! If anyone needs time in nature, time on your own, to look inside your soul-this walk is designed for you🙂 keep sharing your adventures Jim! You're inspiration for adventure&nature seeking souls I did the cave on IOW as well... All thanks to your kindness-your advice was taken on board and I knew what I was risking/expecting Following your inspirational paths.... I even drink Guinness at the end of walks-inspired by you, 😂 😉
Please accept my apology for such a late reply Renata, my time on here has been limited lately, but I am back out and hope for more regular uploads moving forward. The Hangers Way truly is a beautiful walk with the woodlands and wild flowers, I still hope to do this in reverse one Autumn, just for the colour, maybe even do it from home as I could walk to QCP from here, now that would be a classic...food for thought. So good to hear from you as the last time was about the very dangerous path on the IOW down to the cave, I did wonder how you got on. Really good to know you are well and still inspired enough to hit the trail. My time over the last couple of weeks has been on the edit for my next two uploads, I was back down the New Forest for an overnighter, exploring the ancient woodlands and trees. I did a big circular and felt so alive again. I've missed my time in nature over this last year, kinda felt a bit lost with what's going on in the world, but sometimes I feel it's good to step back for a fresh perspective. I feel myself again now and my hunger for adventure is stronger than ever, thanks to you and others on here that kept me reminded of what's truly important...our relationship with nature. Thank you Renata.
@@JimHolden no need to apologise 😁 we are all affected by recent difficult time, I'm glad you're back on track-means more inspirational films on your channel. I did the cave!!! Big thanks for your email Jim-it was really nice of you very detailed but without any details so we had amazing adventure looking for the cave. Thanks to your email I have done cave with my friend-I think it was wise decision due to the risky terrain and tide time. Spring is here we all feel energised and hungry for adventures-lockdown time gave us opportunity to appreciate what we have lost-security, freedom, contact with nature. If you're next time in New forest i do recommend Bolderwood place-every Sunday at 12 o'clock rangers feed deers-lots of them coming down same as lots of people and photographers - but gives you chance to spot couple of white ( albino?) deers 😉 I have same plans for autumn-want to finish Solent Way and carry on from Havant to QECP or Buriton there is something in this village that I need to come back Thanks for all kindness Jim and keep us inspired - most of my hiking plans are based on your adventures Big thanks! Stay safe and keep going BTW all my hikes ends having Guinness in pub "because Jim has Guinness" hahahaha
Watching this inspired me to dust off my kit, get some spare for my daughter and plan the route, then we had this lockdown! Just watched again to remind myself what is out there when we are finally all allowed out again. Thanks for the inspiration to get back out there.
Evening Brian, there are so many great walks in Hampshire, my home for the past forty odd years so explored most of it now. I live along the Meon Trail, another great trail you may be interested in. Bit of a village hopper with the wonderful river Meon close throughout the trail. Take care mate and thanks again for watching....twice.
@@JimHolden That's also not too far from me. I'm up near Hawley Common in Farnborough. I'll look at that one too with a view to do doing when we are allowed out!
Pure beauty, the fullness of an English spring in all its glory. You captured the very essence of what I missed, living abroad, Jim, and I'm so glad to be back. Thank you for taking us along. It was lovely. ATB - Jim. - Mike.
Hiya Mike, yes i was advised to save this walk until spring for the wild flowers, Bluebells and wild garlic, shame my vids aren't scratch and sniff as the smell was wonderful. Love spring anyway but was almost drunk on it. The real magic for me though was the bird song. England's green and pleasant land at it's best mate and just a few weeks away again...getting all excited now. Thanks for watching Mike.
Thanks Anthony, Hampshire is such a beautiful county but not much on YT so wanted to get out and show it at it's best, and it's said to do this trail in spring for the wild flowers so waited all winter to do it. I will do this again in Autumn in reverse as i recon it will be a sight then with the Autumn colour. Thanks for watching Anthony and ATB. Jim.
Love all the info that comes with your walks makes it so interesting. Also loving the cake, never heard of it but really want to try it now. Thanks for sharing your trip
Thank you, the cake was lovely, i'd never heard of it either but jumped at the chance for a slice..scrum. Cracking walk this at just the right time of year to enjoy the natural beauty of late spring. Thanks for watching and ATB. Jim.
beautiful, simply stunning mate, loved every minute of it. thanks for taking us along and being a great host. I'm ashamed to admit it but this is the first video of your's I've watched, but I'll definitely watch a few more in the near future. Love your style of filming. cheers, atb Tom.
Thanks Tom, appreciate you watching. This was a local walk for me but waited all winter to do it in spring, well late spring as it turned out to catch the wonderful wild flowers, i wasn't disappointed, a bit late for the bluebells but everything else was so fresh. Cheers mate and thanks again for poppin by. Jim.
Morning John - Just noticed you've re-emerged. I live in Winchester and stumbled across this video just last week... it inspired me to do a 100m mtb off to Hangar over the Bank Holiday... beautiful landscape. I agree about travel and freedom - and thanks for the channel and your spirit :)
Another delightful piece Mr. Holden, I could almost smell the flowers and feel the warmth of the day. You've a very good eye for the artistic and framing of a scene, keep em coming sir, wonderful !
Thank you Eric, just love getting out on trips like these and love getting such great feedback as your wonderful comment, thank you so much and yes lots more to come. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
Great video Jim. Have walked some of the Hangars Way so very interested to explore more of it now as not a million miles from where I live. Look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Hiya Mark, thanks for watching mate. Yes a lovely walk, one i had recommended to walk in spring for the wild flowers, but it was the bird song that i really enjoyed. I was hoping to do it in reverse last Autumn but couldn't get it together, but i will try it later this year. Thank you for the sub as well, really appreciate it. Jim.
Beautiful ! Thank you Jim for sharing . Superbly filmed and edited AND a cracking soundtrack.. Yep we certainly do live in a stunning country and wherever you go you capture it . Once again thank you.
Thank you Martyn, really appreciate your comment mate. I get asked quite a bit about why i don't go abroad..well when i get bored with these wonderful isles we live on ill explore further afield, for now i'm loving it here. Thanks again mate and ATB. Jim.
Hi Jim, you've done it ! It was so great to see how beautiful this place is in the Spring. Thanks for the mention at the start as well ! That was kind of you. It's amazing how much nature you have captured here. That lovely Deer and the Hares , the dragon fly too. It was all really special. I wish it would have been longer but I bet it took a while to edit all of that. You took us to places my brother and myself didn't get to. Well done Jim. I will watch it every so often. David.
So many people on here myself included hadn't heard of the Hangers Way David but now they have and that's down to you so credit and thanks mate. I knew it was going to be a special trail when i researched it but was blown away by just how beautiful it is. Spring really is the best time as well, the Bluebells and Wild Garlic, just couldn't believe it, never seen so much and that's why i waited till now to do it. Just like going back in time in places, unspoiled and wonderful. I filmed it all in sections like yourself and did the Gilbert White house visit but it didn't flow so shortened it just concentrating on the beauty. Thanks again mate and hope to see you out there again soon. Cheers and ATB. Jim.
Hampshire, my home county and looking in your beautiful video walk as well as it always was from my memories as a young man. Although I haven't lived there for 53 years I haven't forgotten its breathtaking landscapes and nor will I. I have a copy of Gilbert White's Journals which never fail to remind me of that gorgeous area in Hampshire that you have relived in your special walk, Jim. Thank you very much for sharing your adventure. Take care as always...
It was like going back in time in parts this trail John, so unspoiled and peaceful, loved it. I was recommended to wait until spring to do it and i'm so glad i did, the wild flowers were wonderful it's no wonder Gilbert White took the path he did growing up in that area. I was going to have a proper look at his house but work was being done on it so only managed a brief visit but ill be back when the work is complete. Thanks as always for watching and comment John and so pleased you enjoyed it. Jim.
Really beautiful video and really well shot Jim. Looked like heaven upon earth! Thanks for taking us along with you, enjoyed the journey, history and wildlife....just perfect 👌
It felt like heaven Gillian, sweet as you like. Perfect weather and time of year for this trail and so gentle as well, could probably be done in a day but for me just a slow stroll to soak it in and get it on film. Thank you for watching and comment. Cheers and ATB. Jim.
Beautiful trail this, and the perfect time to do it with the bird song and wild flowers, along with other wild life. Thanks for watching mate and ATB. Jim.
Brilliant Jim what a beautiful scenic place to walk. Loved how you adapted because of the deer shows you are a decent human being. Some lovely trees thanks for sharing ATB Leona and Chris
Thank you Leona & Chris, yes a stunning area and a pleasure to walk, makes a change from a lung busting trek up the side of a mountain, haha. Living down on the south coast i can't always get away so want to explore some more local trails and this one was special.. at this time of year. I really felt out of place with the dear, she was clearly distressed so it felt right to move on, bless her. Can't get on line much these days guys so sorry for not replying sooner. Cheers and ATB. Jim.
Thanks for the video mate! Love your approach to camping - a man after my own heart. I'm planning to do this route with a few friends in early July this year, as I live just down the road from both Alton and the QECP. I once walked the first stretch, from Alton to Selborne, a few years back, and I'm keen to do the full route :) You chose a great time of year to go... Looks like late May (around this time) from the flowers
I waited all winter to do this route. Once I read up on this walk and understood it was bluebells and wild garlic all the way I knew that was the best time to do it. I'm looking forward to doing it again but in reverse and in Autumn for the colour. Have a good en mate and thanks for watching.
The glorious English countryside at it's best! Beautifully filmed, superbly edited, what a belter of a video this is Jim! I have watched so many of your videos and thought wow, that is the best one yet but got to say, this will take some beating! Cheers Alan
Wow thank you Alan, such a great compliment really appreciate it mate. This trail was special for sure but the time of year made it so, spring meadows, bluebells, wild garlic, low sun through the ancient oaks man i loved it. I am going to do this in reverse in Autumn to see it from another perspective, looking forward to that. Thanks again Alan. ATB. Jim.
A very beautiful video, Jim. Thanks for creating and sharing. I'd not heard of The Hangers Way but it looks as though you had the trail to yourself and the weather didn't let you down.
I had driven past many times and even stopped to take in the views but no idea there was a NT till David Keel put a couple of sections up. After the research thought ill wait till spring to see the wild flowers, best time of year for this walk. I don't know if you have heard of Gilbert White an 18th century ecologist who lived in the area, his house is now a museum and well worth a visit. Jane Austin also lived here. Lots of history but for this one wanted to just show the nature and the trail at its best. Thanks for watching Olly and ATB mate. Jim.
A Beautiful video as always Jim , and Alton is only 13 miles from our house so me and Austin are definitely going to follow in your footsteps and walk this trail this summer 👍🏻 Tfs Atb Lucy
Thank you Lucy, yes a local one for you guys. I was looking for another trail back to do a circular but ended up jumping on a bus back to Alton, but so many great trails in this area. Thanks for watching and comment. ATB. Jim.
Great video Jim. That trail is a little gem and you made it look idyllic. I usually head for the high mountains but you’ve reminded me that there are many alternatives that can be explored and have their own attractions. Might give this a go once we’re out of lockdown! A perfect English pastoral scene 👍
Bernard Skeen I had this trail recommended by a friend and told to do it in spring or autumn for the wild flowers and colour. Such a surprise as well. Know what you mean with the high mountains but I live on the south coast and they are just too far to travel on a regular. Hampshire is a lovely county full of great trails like this one so in between getting up the Lakes and Snowdonia I like to explore closer to home. Love Dorset as well. Really looking forward to getting back out but I’ll follow the guidance and remain isolated. Take care Bernard and thanks for watching.
Absolutely beautiful that Jim,you bring such a relaxed, peaceful vibe to you're vids great stuff.it's fantastic to see the wild flowers & just how green everything is at the moment,iv'e noticed up my way at the moment everything just seems so much greener than usual..love a long walk over a couple of days with a camp & as you say that following morning getting up & carrying on with the walk is great.iv'e just done the white to dark peak & the peak pilgrimage walks with camps, there's something for you to have a look at Jim..That doe i suspect would have been trying to warn you off as she would have had a young un hid round there somewhere..tfs Jim fantastic stuff as always mate.hope u're well..Andy.
Thanks Andy, it was a festival of wild flowers mate and i know what you mean about how green and lush everything looks, gotta have something to do with winter lasting into April. We had it real bad down here until then, thought spring was never going to come. Iv'e never seen the Bluebells last so long, normally gone by now..well when i did the walk anyway. She was definitely trying to move me on mate, i thought somebody was close by with a dog, couldn't get my head round it..never heard a deer bark before, then i saw her real close and saw her barking proper distressed so got out of there. Enjoyed the tarp set up though going to do that again, love a bivvy. Look forward to the pilgrimage walk Andy, thanks for watching mate and ATB. Jim.
Just got back from mi jollies in Marrakesh. In a short time away you forget how so vividly green our beautiful English countryside really is. I bet that wild garlic smelled brilliant. I'd of had some wilted down for my lunch.lol. Great vid. You never cease to amaze. 😁👍
Hope you had a good en out in Marrakesh Tony. I waited all winter to do this walk to capture that wonderful late spring countryside at it's best. A wonderful walk mate one ill prob do again in Autumn in reverse. Thanks for watching Tony and ATB. Jim.
For sure Andy, getting out is like medicine for the soul. This time of year is extra special, the emergence of spring blows me away. Thank you for watching mate and happy wanderings to you to.
Lived in Hampshire since you were 17 and you still sound like you eat Hotpot everyday! Seriously well filmed in beautiful countryside, those meadows were something else. I thought your music choice was superb too, it gave the whole film an ancient atmosphere, in an ancient landscape.
Nowt wrong with tatty pie for brekkie Si, good for you. Thanks mate made me laugh that and thanks for watching, yes the meadows were beautiful and to be honest the camera just didn't get it, walking this trail was such a joy and pure medicine, felt like i'd been on retreat. I waited all winter to do this as it's said "to see it at it's best do it in spring" and it really was special but an Autumn walk would come close i recon. Cheers Si and ATB. Jim.
Jim, your videos just keep on getting better and better. This is an absolute belter. Those beautiful unspoilt meadows, melodic spring bird song, veteran trees, man made history and.....chocolate and Guinness cake :) Heck I could smell that woodland wild garlic and great to see you in the hammock. Music was a perfect accompaniment also. I hope the water filter did its job. So many highlights Jim and you are so right, all of our counties have real gems awaiting discovery. ATVB Paul :)
Thank you Paul, yes a wonderful country this, not much about Hampshire on YT so plan to do a few more like this. The thing is the views are limited walking through farmland and woodland so tried a few close up's and was very lucky with that. A trail that i took my time on and was rewarded with some great sights. Thank you Paul for watching and your wonderful comment really appreciate it. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
Only just come across this one 18 months too late. You've lived there since being 17 and I thought you'd just stepped out of your home in East Lancashire 5 minutes ago. I lived in London for 5 years in the 80s and a Yorkshire accent caused some amusement then. Brilliant video as always, Jim. Keep them coming.
Thanks Joe, yes when i first arrived in Hampshire most thought i must be in the Navy with my accent. Portsmouth then was such a busy port hosting the ships and Navy from around the world. How times have changed, today the famous dockyard is a museum. I had my eye on this walk for a while and was advised to do it in spring for the wild flowers...beautiful walk but it was the bird song that i remember it for. Thanks again mate.
Thank you Louis, i knew there was a baby Deer very close so had to get out of there. Loved this walk though and love Hampshire my home now for forty years.
Cheers Scot, a difficult one to film, as the views just didn't really work on camera so concentrated on close ups. A beautiful trail and a joy to walk. Thanks for watching Scot and ATB. Jim.
Thanks Wayne, the views were fantastic but not that good for the camera so wanted to get up close to the beautiful wild flowers and Bees etc, wonderful trail, really enjoyed it. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
They say, Spring and Autumn are the times to do this with the colours. I waited until the Bluebells and Wild Garlic came out and that's what made it such a treat. I'll be doing it in reverse one Autumn, maybe even this year. Cheers,
Thank you Jonathan, yes the bird song is my memory of this walk. Hampshire is such a beautiful county with many trails like this, hope to walk them all one day. Cheers mate and thanks again. Jim.
Great video buddy nice walk really enjoyed watching it heading out myself on the 26th June on the Cornish coastal for a few days hiking and camping along the ways thanks for sharing a.t.b Andrew
Thanks Andrew, it was a nice relaxed pace on this trail, no rush and a joy to walk. The Cornish coast can be brutal at times but such a great path hope you have a good en. Cheers mate really appreciate you watching and comment. ATB. Jim.
Loved it every minute Jim. What a video! Beautiful. Those drgonfly shots were superb. That bumblebee with the reddish bum I feel I should know from an ID sheet I had once. Never seen them for real. Not a carder bee is it? Great to see the oxslips, red campion and the like too. Slow motion for deer and insects is great. I haven't camped this year yet but I would want a tent I can be sealed into to keep our dreaded midges at bay! Maybe try Arran island again but this time UA-cam the experience. A great walk, thanks for taking us with you!
Thank you Terry, the Dragonfly was doing a circuit over and over so made it easy for me to set the camera up and wait for him to come back to his perch, at the end of the scene another flies too close and he attacks big time, wonderful to just sit back and watch. This walk could be done in the day but i spent so much time crawling around trying to get the Bee shot and the Butterfly. In the end i had so much footage almost forgot i was doing a walk. Lovely trail though Terry at the best time of year. Iv'e always called this sort of Bee the Red Tail, don't know if it is or not. The dreaded midge isn't the same problem down here at the moment later on in summer it is and a tent will be used then for sure. Thanks for watching Terry and ATB. Jim.
Yes red tailed bee I found too Jim. Midges were sure out yesterday afternoon amongst the trees by Loch Lomond with the family if we hung about long enough for them to find us!
What a lovely walk Jim, I felt as though I was walking along with you. The Guinness cake sounded amazing and I'd certainly would have had a slice. Fully agree with youy about how beautiful England is and it always amazes me that people would prefer to travel the world but they have never seen Wales, Cumbria or Scotland. You say you've lived in Hampshire since the age of 17, so for about 10 years then? Two impressive things in this film: that brilliant hat and those outstanding legs! Cheers Mate.
The cake was lovely Mike nearly asked her for the recipe, very black with a creamy choc sauce and fresh cream on top, scrum. I always said that going abroad would only happen for me when i'm bored with Britain, and to be honest i feel like i'm only just beginning to explore properly, so no time soon. We are so lucky Mike this country has it all, even when the weather is bad it's still beautiful..well when it clears anyway. This trail was on my list all winter as it's said to see it at it's best do it in spring for the flowers and i wasn't disappointed, just a joy to walk. Cheers mate hope you and Kath are well. ATB. Jim.
Fantastic. I used to live in Alton and have been to Selbourne many times and worked in Bordon. But I never knew about the Hangers way. There is a 13 mile walk called the Writers way which is a circular walk from Alton station which I was planning on doing, but I will have to give this a go too. Thanks buddy 👍🏻
Hiya Ted, such a beautiful trail this and it's true what they say about doing it in spring to see it at it's best. Although i recon in Autumn would match it so maybe ill do it again in the opposite direction then. Not many vids up on YT showing Hampshire so plan to do a few more. Thanks for watching mate and ATB. Jim.
Lovely film as per usual Jim, your a great man for finding all these lesser known paths ....I’m gearing up for a walk in July- the East Devon Way which I’m sure your familiar with ,I’m also determined to do this one as well ...it’s a real beauty thanks for sharing atb Mick
Thank you Mick but credit for finding this trail go's to Mr David Keel. David did it in sections last year so i waited all winter to do it with the spring flowers on show. Such a nice gentle path and a joy to walk. The East Devon Way looks a great walk and it's funny you mentioning it as my next section of the SWCP heads west from Lyme Regis so that looks like a fantastic circular. Good luck with it Mick and thanks for watching mate. ATB. Jim.
Really enjoyed this one Jim, very chilled. Reminds me a lot, of some sections on the Wolds Way in my neck of the woods. Probably due to the similar geology as the Wolds Way follows the bed of chalk from Hesse to Filey.
I've been without a car for 3 weeks. Decided to do canal walks along the Leeds/Liverpool canal around Skipton instead. Stunning views and cracking cakes and teas as the canal side cafes! Result.
Chocolate and Guinness cake? Now that's a sweet surprise on the trail Jim. I bet that lasted a while in your taste bud memory. There were of course many delights on this one but some dangers to. I drank from a low lying stream without a filter on a camp and suffered the following week. Cattle were in my midst. So yeah you gotta be careful. Wow I trust you were munching on that wild garlic though - I love it - it's a real boost as is that second day. Well, that was beautiful. Long comment I know but there was a lot in here. I saved you from the full glowing review. All the best. Mark
I couldn't believe the choice of cake Mark, forgot what the others were my mind just fixed on the Guinness cake and yes it was scrum and full of calories just what i needed. Not a hard walk, very gentle and so beautiful with the wild flowers and strong fragrance of Bluebell and Wild Garlic..perfect. The Swayer mini filter is a great bit of kit but it did worry me in these streams, worked well though so thankful for that. There are lots of other local trails down here Mark so plan to do a few more when travel isn't possible. Thanks as always for watching and comment Mark hope you are well mate. Cheers and ATB. Jim.
I shall have to look out for some unusual cakes on my next hikes Jim. I'll raise a cake to you. Ha ha! Chuffed this reached the parts that need to be reached. Have a great week...
I like Hampshire Jimbob, just a short drive from here, ( south west London and north west Surrey ), about a 35 mile drive down the A3 a i'm at the Hampshire border. Spent a lot of time down there in Hants over the years, a lot, never heard of the Hangers Way but, am quite familiar with both the north and south downs ways, and have done bits and pieces of both over the years but once again have never ever heard of the Hangers Way, ( I know the Queen Elizabeth country park though and do spend a bit of time there here and there, lovely place, have heard of Shoulder of Mutton hill but don't think i've ever been there ). Will look into the Hangers Way now and if I ever do it as you did there i'll let you know what I think of it perhaps, thanks again mate, thanks.
Hiya James, i hadn't heard of it either till David Keel put a couple of sections up on his channel, after research it's said to do the walk at it's best in spring for all the wild flowers, so waited all winter to have a crack. Such a gentle walk and could probably be done in a day but for me it was a slow one wanting to see all the wild life so lots of stops. The bus route back to Alton is great as well, one every hour so no probs getting back. Hampshire is such a beautiful county with loads of NT so plan to do a few more. Thanks for watching and comment mate. ATB. Jim.
It's a really nice trail this one, i waited all winter to have a go for the spring flowers and i wasn't disappointed. I'm going to do it again soon, just waiting for Autumn to kick in. Thanks for watching and ATB. Jim.
Aw Jim that was really really nice to watch. Felt like I was there with you bud. The soundtrack to your footage was so fitting, and videography was great. Quality viewing as always Jim. A big thank you Jim. Therapeutic. I must walk that myself. How many days did you say to do it.
Thank you Shane, such a joy to walk this trail and so gentle as well, it could be done in the day i suppose but i did it over two taking my time and socking in the vibe of spring with the wild flowers, beautiful. Thanks for watching mate, hope you are well and ATB. Jim.
A wonderful walk Richard, but this really was the best time to do it with the wild flowers and bird song, but i want to do it in reverse in Autumn. Thanks mate and ATB. Jim.
Nice one Jim 👍, looked very nice and you done well with the weather. I think I will give that route a go soon. How long did it take? ( including stops, camping...etc). You are definitely right, I live up near Wickham in Hampshire and it has some of the most stunning woodlands and walkways I have ever been on.
We are almost neighbours Wickham is not far from me, and yes the woodland around there is the best. Hampshire is a lovely county and not enough local trails on YT so hope to do more. This trail could be done in the day i suppose, very gentle path but i really took my time chasing bees and butterflies through the woods, so set off from Alton at 10.30am and hit QECP at 04.30pm the next day and that's with a couple of hours chilling in Petersfield. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
Sounds good buddy! I like your style, it’s more about enjoying yourself and taking it it all in then running the miles. Looking forward to doing this one. As always, cheers for the vid Jim and look forward to the next one ⛺️ 👍😄
That was lovely to watch Jim. Great filming and great commentary. Makes me wish I was walking the two moors way again. Keep going mate, your videos keep me going when I’m working nights 👍🏽
Thank you Yarg, i waited all winter to do this trail to catch the spring flowers, and it was a joy to walk as well. Could not believe the bird song on both days, thankfully the camera picked it up. The Two Moors Way is one iv'e looked at, just over 100 miles but a crackin coast to coast, might have a go one day. Thanks for watching and i know what you mean about night shifts. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
Mate, what a legend you are! Just discovered your channel. I live near the river test, Hampshire is an amazing county, loads of good walks. And Dorset too, be good to see you trek the Isle of Wight. You're an inspiration 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you, and I can only agree with you about Hampshire, full of treasures and I'm still finding new walks all the time. The IOW coast path was the first walk I recorded for YT back in 2015, a cracking walk, one I'd like to do again one day. Thanks again for such a great comment.
I'm back on Hangers Way next week😀 2 years ago I did it on my own-inspired by you Jim! Beautiful walk! If anyone needs time in nature, time on your own, to look inside your soul-this walk is designed for you🙂 keep sharing your adventures Jim! You're inspiration for adventure&nature seeking souls
I did the cave on IOW as well... All thanks to your kindness-your advice was taken on board and I knew what I was risking/expecting
Following your inspirational paths....
If you're next time in New forest i do recommend Bolderwood place-every Sunday at 12 o'clock rangers feed deers-lots of them coming down same as lots of people and photographers - but gives you chance to spot couple of white ( albino?) deers 😉 I have same plans for autumn-want to finish Solent Way and carry on from Havant to QECP or Buriton there is something in this village that I need to come back
Thanks for all kindness Jim and keep us inspired - most of my hiking plans are based on your adventures
Big thanks!
Superb Jim, you’ve done Hampshire and the Hanger Way proud, and once again demonstrate the beauty of this Isle we live on.
Anthony.
Jim.
Finally did it. Beautiful walk.
Well done Brian, it's a cracking walk mate.
Enchanting video thank you
Love all the info that comes with your walks makes it so interesting.
Jim.
Really enjoyed your video keep them coming. My wife and I just walked it and really liked it what a brilliant little route.
Another great trip Jim thanks for taking us along. ATB Paul 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Paul, wonderful area this and waited all winter to see it at it's best..in spring for the wild flowers. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
beautiful, simply stunning mate, loved every minute of it. thanks for taking us along and being a great host.
Jim.
Jim Holden you're welcome mate, thanks for replying.
Live in Portsmouth and never heard of this, going to hike and wild camp it with my dog this year. Cheers
Fantastic video Jim being a Hampshire hog we have so many fantastic walks to achieve
Jim.
Cheers Jim.. Me too !
Jim.
It is like going back in time Jim. That's a great feeling I think. Thanks for sharing it with us. Bye for now.
Jim.
Absolutely fantastic as always very inspiring thanks for sharing
Beautiful trail this, and the perfect time to do it with the bird song and wild flowers, along with other wild life. Thanks for watching mate and ATB. Jim.
Really enjoyed this thanks Jim. I’ve been researching the walk as thinking of doing it. Very peaceful video. Many thanks. Ben 👍⛺️
Beautiful video as always, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching Jo really appreciate it. ATB. Jim.
Outstanding James 👏👏👏👍
Thank you so much really appreciate it. Cheers and ATB.
I once walked the first stretch, from Alton to Selborne, a few years back, and I'm keen to do the full route :)
You chose a great time of year to go...
@@JimHolden Thankyou, and you're welcome!
Jim.
Nice one Jim. You probably passed not far from my house.
Lovely video.
A Beautiful video as always Jim , and Alton is only 13 miles from our house so me and Austin are definitely going to follow in your footsteps and walk this trail this summer 👍🏻
Tfs
Atb Lucy
What a great video. Thanks Steve
steve's Days off Thanks Steve, proper nice walk this one. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
Lovely place and a very relaxing watch Jim Cheers buddy . Like the hat too 👍
And surprisingly quiet Mark, hardly saw anyone on this trail, always a bonus. Thanks for watching mate and ATB. Jim.
Spot on video Jim thourly enjoy watching
Thank you Jon, appreciate you watching mate. ATB. Jim.
Jim.
That was good for the soul Jim.Beautifully filmed.Happy wanders mate.Andy.
For sure Andy, getting out is like medicine for the soul. This time of year is extra special, the emergence of spring blows me away. Thank you for watching mate and happy wanderings to you to.
Nice relaxing video👌
Jim.
Lovely vid Jim.. so peaceful.. tfs.. atb.. R&D 😊
Thanks R&D, hardly saw a soul on the two days out, lovely walk. Cheers guys and ATB.
Jim.
Well a superb video....and what a hat !! But really super shots as others said. Can't add much as it's all been said. Cheers Jim.
Cheers Colin, i know iv'e had some wonderful feedback and appreciate every view and comment, thanks for your continued support mate means the world.
Loved this, you're a wonderful guy re positioning your tarp for the deer. Blessings to you.
Thank you Louis, i knew there was a baby Deer very close so had to get out of there. Loved this walk though and love Hampshire my home now for forty years.
Brilliant Jim, very informative mate. Cracking video as usual pal. Cheers
Cheers Scot, a difficult one to film, as the views just didn't really work on camera so concentrated on close ups. A beautiful trail and a joy to walk. Thanks for watching Scot and ATB. Jim.
A wonderful film jim, beautiful views that make me feel glad im alive.
Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Wayne, the views were fantastic but not that good for the camera so wanted to get up close to the beautiful wild flowers and Bees etc, wonderful trail, really enjoyed it. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
Thanks Jim. Really like your use of ambient sound and background music. Will start South downs way in April.
Great video Jim . Nice choice of cake
Yes a nice surprise the cake, and it was scrum. Thanks for watching Jonathan. ATB mate. Jim.
what a beautiful place. awesome video!
Yes very beautiful at this time of year, special, but a walk in Autumn would probably match it. Thanks for watching and ATB. Jim,
Great video. loved this. Just moved near Alton and am so excited to try this one!
They say, Spring and Autumn are the times to do this with the colours. I waited until the Bluebells and Wild Garlic came out and that's what made it such a treat. I'll be doing it in reverse one Autumn, maybe even this year. Cheers,
Thanks Jim, really enjoyed watching your video. I loved the birdsong I felt I was walking with you. The 'eart of 'ampshire on the 'angers way!
ATB. Jim.
Cheers Jim.
ATB. Jim.
Beautiful vid Jim. Thanks and atb
Thank you, such a beautiful area and a joy to walk. Cheers mate and ATB. Jim.
Jim.
Jim lives the life! Great video, thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Stu, this path was a joy to walk at the best time of year. Living the dream mate for sure. Thanks for watching and ATB. Jim.
Excellent video, thanks for sharing. Good wishes........Les
Thank you Les, a joy to walk this trail absolutely beautiful. Cheers mate and ATB.
Result.
Lovely part of the world. Canal walks are great, nice and easy going. Hope your car gets sorted soon. Cheers Dave and ATB. Jim.
And you mate take care.,
I like Hampshire Jimbob, just a short drive from here, ( south west London and north west Surrey ), about a 35 mile drive down the A3 a i'm at the Hampshire border.
ATB. Jim.
Gave this ago a few years back but the path was closed half way for repairs so ended going back to Alton. But going to give this another go.
Jim.
Bit greener than Australia!!
Added to the list!
Jim.
Hi dude we need to do a camp
Mate, what a legend you are! Just discovered your channel. I live near the river test, Hampshire is an amazing county, loads of good walks. And Dorset too, be good to see you trek the Isle of Wight. You're an inspiration 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you, and I can only agree with you about Hampshire, full of treasures and I'm still finding new walks all the time. The IOW coast path was the first walk I recorded for YT back in 2015, a cracking walk, one I'd like to do again one day. Thanks again for such a great comment.
@@JimHolden great channel mate, love it. Glad you're back in the forest again.
