Me too. It took a bit longer than the 2.11 but went well. Camera seems to boot a bit faster. But I didn't try the v3. I did not notice any issues. All settings were kept. I've only briefly tested the focus bracketing.if you are on early firmware boot would be slower. But 2.11 got fine, v4 improved so it's quick now. Maybe in mistaken but sure seems to be faster. I think the update took around 3 mins. I think the 2.11 update took much quicker, but this one is a bigger update I guess.
I can't get mine to update. Every time i try it tells me that the sd card isn't installed or the file can't be found and the sd card is bad. I tried a few different sd cards with no luck.. My current version is 3.04
I updated the day version 4 came out. I've not used focus bracketing yet but did notice a few subtle changes within the menus like under version camera and lens versions are now displayed separately. No issues in operation but will try and use the bracketing feature later this week.
@@MarioSoMedia I always try and keep firmware updated. Yes before I could see lens version but the menu appearance looks slightly different to me (like design change for that option). I could be wrong but don't have a body with earlier version to compare.
We gotta stop scaring people with the bricked stuff. Unless you are sitting with the person when they do the update, we have no idea if they are jumping updates, not formating the card or doing something not covered by Sony. This is also not to say that Sony's Firmware update process couldn't be improved, so that this isn't necessary. I have 6 Sony cameras and none of them have been bricked, even during the A7SIII, A7RV, A7IV, A9, A6700, and FX30. I did however go through the boot-loop issue with the A6700 and the A7SIII, but the A7SIII was my fault, the A6700 wasn't, but Sony has a UA-cam video on Boot Loops, which fixed my issue and the update then went through just fine.
its not bricked it just doesnt fucking update. just search google and see how many fucking people are saying their update doesnt update. and now it happened to me for the first time ugh.
I agree. All updates done so far on my fx3 and a74 had no issues. I can imagine some people being impatient and not following Sony’s protocol which is causing these issues.
Why should it brick it ? Ive always upgraded my a7Iv since it came out, always withing the first day or two and never had any issues. People who might have problems are people who dont read instructions.
@@TomatenDK One of the earlier updates for the Sony a7iv in early 2022 was withheld by Sony after release for a bit to fix issues, similar to the recent one with the a7rv, so it's not impossible.

Hi. I updated to version v. Even if by mistake, I did it from version 1.01 instead of more recent, it worked. The only change was the shutter speed unit!!! Can this be changed to the normal unit? Thanks
My camera fully bricked, have been trying to fix for the last 5 days. I followed every instruction, nothing is working :( I feel so stupid for trying to update. No warranty since the camera is 2+ years old.
@ hey, I tried updating firmware from version 1.01 to 1.05. Battery was fully charged and I had the right firmware version on the sd card. After more then an hour the red light was still blinking. I tried removing battery, other sd cards, pressing to shutter button for 30 seconds, different versions of firmware. The only thing I saw is the red light, which blinked 5 times for 0,5 seconds and 6 times for 0,25 seconds. The camera itself is not turning on
my only complaint is that it freezes if you toggle AF/Mf switch too much, guess it doesn't like being used like a Minolta camera. She'll have to cope for as long as I use minolta lenses (I'm poor)
doesnt work, camera just does the 5 flash 6 flash (failure notification) . updating from v2. tried with a dif lens on. tried with card formatted incamera and out. not wiping another card to try this rn. im fucking fed up. maybe i need japanese version firmware file???????????????????????????????????????????????????? edit: nope. probably trying another card will magically work (its a sony 256gb card) but fuck that

Glad to see the A7IV finally get focus bracketing. I found it trivial for Sony to keep that out of their top-selling hybrid camera.
Yeah I agree! It’s about time!
It’d sure be nice if they’d drop a firmware update where you could choose custom WB while in memory modes🙏🏼
We need Built in LUTS, I don't know why that has been neglected again
That would be nice!
Would be nice if we could get the put import like the a7c II
