    The Inazuma story was good, I just don't think it was set up right. The archon quest I didn't like was Liyue's, the only good part was the jade chamber but even that lost its magic after running back and forth for everyone

    inazuma's story was not that bad lol. the pacing was bad, but so was the pacing in sumeru where we literally have a quest centered around doing the same day over and over again 💀 the context behind inazuma's poor pacing is pretty informative -- they ran into some censorship problems with inazuma's storyline due to ccp censorship guidelines, particularly modifying historical figures or, more specifically, characters inspired by historical figures and historical eras. reworks/rewriting/modification due to particular censorship involving depictions of japan and references to japanese history contributed heavily to the disjointed feeling of the quest, so inazuma's story doesn't quite align with the vision the writers had.
    if you want to know more about it, china's gaming association released an internal memo about this and it was reported on by a few news outlets. no hate to mr. socks because many people don't know this about inazuma's development. it's sad that inazuma was stunted like this, but they did well with what they could work with.

      Inazuma's story was one of my favorites lowkey. The part where Kazuhua fights Raiden is unmatched.

      @@maureenh1631 inazuma gave us so many goated scenes. the fight on the beach where kazuha and beidou show up also got me so hype. raiden shogun's introduction scene was also amazing + her deciding to summon a psychic arena to beat the shit out of us five seconds after meeting us is honestly so fucking funny i can't even be mad

      nah dont come for sumeru's pacing, act II repeating the same day was the whole concept and an interesting puzzle, it had nothing to do with bad pacing

      @@kartolina444 the concept was interesting, the execution was painstaking. calling it a puzzle mischaracterizes what a "puzzle" is. sumeru isn't perfect. most of the acts are very good, but act II was the weakest act in sumeru.
      the narzissenkreuz quest early in fontaine explored the same cyclical concept and that sucked too, which is a shame because that storyline is one of the more interesting world quests in fontaine. at least that one legitimately involved puzzle mechanics that the player has to think through, rather than the "groundhog day" reveal being shown solely through dialogue like in sumeru.

      @@6235riveryou saying it was painful means it did it’s job. It’s a time loop. It’s supposed to be painfully repetitive. But I also agree that inazuma was good too, considering how many handicaps the company had. Majority of the player base that hates on the quest are westerners who don’t know the whole magnitude of the censorship laws in china
