    "Carbuettors", all i heared was Car Beretta :)
    But as this series continues i might reconsider my stance of "just shove in the biggest steam engine that fits" on a future build. Good stuff!

    The injector engines have about twice as much power per volume compared to your Radiating Randall carbureted engine.

    • @BorderWise12
      @BorderWise12  8 місяців тому +2

      Fair point. But it requires less radiators, and gets more efficient as it gets bigger!

    I love how this game makes no sense with fuel engines, injectors can have super and turbochargers as well. But I’m not complaining, as long as there is big engine and big gun and big armour brick I be happy.

    One thing I have noticed in regards to fuel engines is that they, like steam engines, often times only show their true values once you actually make them go to the RPM you actually intended them to be at by consuming their power

    • @avi8aviate
      @avi8aviate 8 місяців тому +1

      Fuel engines already show this in their UI. You can even limit the RPM of fuel engines for maximum power output.

      @@avi8aviate as far as I know, I have already built fuel engines, where the shown nunmbers did not match the actual numbers - when the engines were turned on, the numbers displayed changed. That is what I know in regards to that. Although it has been a few months since I last built a fuel engine, so it may have changed for all I know.

      @@th3kill3r90 Does the actual sustained power output match the stable power output shown by the fuel engine UI?

    • @th3kill3r90
      @th3kill3r90 8 місяців тому

      @@avi8aviate it does, but only once I actually use the produced engine power. The output graph also changes when the engine gets turned on. This was especially true for supercharger engines with high levels of cooling, where the PPM reached over 1000.

      @@th3kill3r90 if you hover over the fuel engine block you can see the stable power the engine will make,the gray power bar on the bottom right only shows the full power any engine has before any factors.

    My favorite pattern for carborstor engines is alternating rows.
    Row 1 has a cross of cylinders with carborators in the corners, row 2 has two adaptors, cylinders in the corners, and carborators in the last 2 slots.

    I use a gas turbine which can get around 1k ppm, it's a CJE with a generator that's set to only make engine power
    the problem with these is that their power per volume is pathetic and they're expensive upfront

    I was completely thrown off by that bigger engine. Was wondering how the heck you managed to place cylinders without being attached to the shaft. I never used those adapters so I forgot about them entirely.
    Also it never occurred to me that you could build a carb engine without the addons. I mean, I knew you technically *could* but it always seemed too silly to bother trying. But then I played when turbos were meta and they hadn't nerfed them into the ground yet. Fun times.

    Ima need to see my ridiculous hybrid motors here. my"not space efficient at all" flat 6 or more, 3 turbo carbureted AND fuel injected motors. They get around the 450/500 ppm area.

    Is using both turbos and supers better for warships that might have varying power demands over the course of a battle?
    Generally, I use naturally aspirated engines for such ships, and use turbos mostly for smaller or faster craft that will be pushing their engines hard, and supercharged engines for larger ships like cargo ships that will mostly be cruising slowly.
    I had no idea you could attach radiators to the sides, though, so normally I would slap a large radiator on the end and use a full cage of exhaust piping
    I'll definitely have to experiment with more designs and layouts.

      If you have room for supers on your turbos, you have nothing to lose!

    I did 1 turbo for ever carb the 3x3 Cylinder core into a 5x5 engine, and just to found out that it is already a commonly pasted engine. Haven't got a change to play the game now that every block is chromed and shiny. I have to say the cylinder looks way too close to carb for no good reason.
