Here's the problem. Stewie has something 99% of CS players don’t. Opportunity. He has the opportunity to compete at the biggest lans, the biggest stages the most important games in csgo history. If you have that opportunity, why would you ever give that up? I get some people aren’t built for it. Traveling and bootcamping every other day is hard, but if you can handle it, why leave? Sure his career SEEMS done, but he still has opportunity, and if you have the opportunity to COMPETE and that’s what you love, why would you settle for sitting down for 3 hours while people laugh at your jokes and get off. That just doesn't sound like a good life for a competitor.

Losing Malek is a far bigger blow than losing Stewie, having a proper coach in charge of the main roster and development players, and full power to replace players or experiment with changing roles. That is what you need for a project like EG and he's gone.
He never really proved he was a proper coach though if it was somebody more proven like a zews zonic etc I would agree but honestly I think they keep stew invest in a good igl and if stew still doesn’t want to listen then cut him at least you give him a chance at what he’s famously known for entrying

It would be a little different if Stewie was a decent player anymore, but compared to other pros hes kinda mediocre at this point. Even if he was above average, the way he acts is more important than how he plays, look at Smooya, super talented at the game but can't stay in a roster because of his attitude/personality.

@@goneski Malek was the coach of one of the best teams in the world, with some of the best players in the world, for 3 years straight. It doesnt take a genius to understand that he was more than capable of managing a top team and had a good system in place that could really benefit american teams. If he wasnt really good he would have been benched a long time ago in G2 and would never have had the respect of players like NiKo and huNter.
Stewie on the other hand is a washed up pro, that is not even playing the game he's paid for anymore. That hasnt performed at a high level for 2 years straight or even more. That is not willing to accept criticism and evolve as a player with a teenager mentality that wants to play with his friends.
Malek on the other hand is a professional like most of other EU players / coaches that are willing to play on pretty much any team, with any players and not just their friends cause they are what we call "professionals" aka its their job. The only thing you're doing with cementing Stewie2k as the "leader" of this team is that players have control and they get to chose what they do with the team, what their roles are and what players they get to play with. Wich is the recipe for absolute disaster.
Get rid of Stewie2k, put a competent coach and competent IGL at the head of the squad and iterate from there. If people arent willing to put up the hours and adapt to a new structure bench them.
Also please RLewis, dont get out of of esports. You're the Thorin we all deserve. Knowledgeable, entertaining, without any filter but not disrespectful like The Grinch.

Yep just like tarik, once stewie2k becomes a streamer, everyone will talk about how good he is as a player in cs, valorant, or whatever other game he plays, and all the accomplishments he's made, while forgetting about all the dumb decisions he made as a pro in cs that not only destroyed his career, but other players' careers.

Daps is one of the great NA IGLs. Hopefully he can bring good leadership to Liquid. I'm sure nitro, naf and osee will work with him, but elige strikes me as a silent stewie. Hopefully it works out, daps could easily be our zonic or blade

EG finally make a proper move to fix their team by bringing in a world class coach only to cut him in favor of their flailing IGL who then doesn’t even want to play the game anymore. Have to say, EG management and stewie deserve one another. Might as well put him on the board of directors at this point, there’s no fixing a team managed this way. To answer the 2:00 question. I personally enjoy both, the problem is that most video/audio content isn't all that great. I also don't enjoy very like analytical or tactical content as in "they threw this smoke here that allows this player to do a lurk" or sumn like that, but the historical content of "these players had this style and did this and that" is pretty goated.

My primary motivation for supporting NA cs is selfish. I want competitive teams so maybe somehow we could have another NA major. I had to save up my vacation time and money for two years just to attend the Antwerp major. It would be my hope to have another NA team on stage in a NA major... we can dream can't we?

Valorant is the perfect game for Stew, no shortage of petty drama in the pro scene.
I'll still say it, Stewie may not of been the sole devil here. But it's difficult to see him coming back to CS. For them valorant is the easy option. So disgraceful to seeing him grind valorant they way he is as a Cs professional.

I only recently started watching you, and I have to admit I respect almost all your points as they're not just emotional fueled beliefs but rather rational and true comments. Love stewie but at this point everything he has said and has done is simply a joke for NA (talking mainly about after he left liquid).

Content wise I don't think it is a case of people asking for stuff like time travel lan and then not watching. The people who ask for it watch and enjoy it, it's just that that is a small vocal group, while most people just show up for the other content and don't actively push for any. I know I only began commenting on the time travel lan stuff cause it wasn't doing well and wanted to show that I really enjoyed watching it.

If I'm Complexity, I'm offering Cerq a trial contract. He hasn't been great, but surely he's better than Junior just with his experience as a former tier 1 AWPer. Complexity is a team that is on his level given his lackluster performance. It would be a good opportunity to prove to everyone that he still has it and deserves to be on a better team.
As someone who watched every single episode of time travel Lan. I love that format so much. But being a old fuck myself it is something which takes me down memory lane and in every conversation I ask myself the questions you ask and come to my own conclusions.
Now, if I was let's say 16 years old. That Charme would be kinda gone and I don't know whether I would enjoy it as much as I do.
