The 256 dollars breakdown probably went like this. $10 on actual cut, $15 for styling, $50 for the 10min massage and $181 for 2 honey lemon drinks...

The $3 salon must be careful, usually hairwash is cheaper than hair cut. $15 is way too much and the lady only inform them upon them enquiring. Can see their mode of operation here.

Got one place near Bedok that cuts hair for $2 or 2.50 and my grandma told me to go there cuz very cheap and then I ask them to cut my hair just a bit and they cut like half my hair without asking if it was fine they like cut the hair first then ask if it’s okay like wtf!??! Not to mention my haircut was uneven and still is! Terrible.........now my hair look so ugly

Those famous and atas hair salon have these "level" of hairstylist and it will be more expensive you get the better and experience one for example since about 10+ years ago my uncle was in a hair salon and he is the leading hairstylist so one trim only cost already near to $70 and there is also the director cut which is like more than a $100
Ben, your hair stylist came from china? Usually I don't let prc hair stylist to cut my hair because frankly speaking they don't know how to cut hair. My china friend's hair was damaged and look so ulgy after she let one of them to do her hair. And worst she has to go to local hairstylist to do her hair again.

I think Snip Avenue should be common? Since this video wanted to try them too. There's one outlet near my place. I've never tried it before. But my mum always goes there.
Also there's this place called Ecoin New Station. They have $3 too, for members. For non members, it's $5 or 6. Depending on weekends or not.
I went there for quite a number of times, and it seems fine till now. But not sure if there's outlets near your place. Tried to google and happen to only see the ones at Jurong and Clementi. All west area.

In my country, you can find a barber shop with around 2$ pay but it's much better (in cutting) than 3$ in SG..

Just a suggestion,pls pls do a video on hair salons who hard sell pressurized customers to buy hair products. Many of us kena u noe. A trip to the salons has turn into a very stressful situation for many yrs liao.... The one i visited recently is normal salon(not $3 type so they nv force me buy package)
BUT! Try n force me to buy ampoules $360/box n conditioner at $180/1L. Both attempts failed.
Then she suan me n say all her customers gt buy 3 box n get 1 box free.
