I love how generous Straits Arts are. I’ve always enjoyed my little trips there. Their staff make the visits welcoming and educational for a newbie like me. Don’t feel like they’re bothered by my million and one questions nor my need to take a while to consider what to purchase. Thanks for doing this review!
Thank you for your kind comments
For that price I would buy one immediately if I came across it. Come to think about it, probably pick up a couple....
Definitely will check this out, I love brush pens, thanks for the demo.🙏🏽
Looks like a great pen! Love the transparancy of the plastic.
I like the cross over between brush pen & fountain pen. I look forward to trying these out.
Thanks for the demo. It looks like a great pen to keep in the travel case. 👍👍
I like your honest reviews and comparisons! I am always amused when you find "things" irritating! Merci Teoh.
Great product. Inspiring demo!
Nice video. Very enjoyable watching you draw with the brush pen.
Thanks for reviewing this, Teoh! After I saw your video, I bought two of them and am very happy with them. (They took a while to reach Canada, but that's to be expected. Well worth the wait. Great price!)
Wow!!! This looks like the Lamy transparent fountain pen !
These are nice brush pens 🙂
I can see myself using them with watercolors
I used this same brush with the same ink a couple of years ago and it works wonders ... They can also be filled in with liquid watercolors. It is practical to paint on the street .. You can have several with different colors.
This looks really easy to use! Definitely is more environmentally friendly as well, will visit Straits Art soon to get them! ☺ Thanks for this review Teoh!
Look forward to seeing you
Nice pen! And indeed it is cheap. I would like to order a couple of these to add to my urban sketching kit bag.
So beautiful, and cheap! :O
Nice video. It would be interesting to see how the sketch looks after coloring it with watercolors.
Looks great, love the fine detail for the hair, not bad for $ 6.00.
No more needing to get refills. Gotta get one to try.
Thanks so much for this review ^^ I've seen a similar one online and was wondering if it was any good👍👍💕
Cool pen! I'm going to see if I can't get one here in Canada.
Cheers, and thank-you for the demo!
Let me know. I am from canada as well. My guess is amazon will be cheaper
I'm in eastern rural Canada. I bought 2 directly from Straits Art Co. website. Shipping was free. It did take about 1.5 months to reach me, but I wasn't in a rush and for that price, they're great brush pens! (Just noticed they're out of stock at the moment, though.)
can we get an update on this pen? did the waterproof ink clog??
So cool! I wonder if it will be available in the US via ebay or something..
Prosím přidejte odkaz stránek kde se dají zakoupit. Děkuji za krásné video...
LOL I saw it today at the shop. I bought the Lamy Safari looking one.
I think its eye dropper , as it has o ring and more groves to spin
That looks fantastic!. I've been thinking why the pentel pocket brush is so expensive when the inexpensive one works as good....i've tested kuretake's and it works very well
I adore kuretake! I actually prefer it to the pentes pocket brush bc it’s a bit thicker
@@PaperWolfe me too!! I've had it for 4 years and it never ran out of ink im honestly so impressed, very worth it if you just draw pen and ink for accent
This brush pen looks like the one I bought off Aliexpress a while ago. I put Sumi ink in it and that was a mistake. The ink was too thick for it, the ink flow is a little slow. Good with fountain pen ink though.
what kind of paper are are you useing in this videos? what aare these pens like for ink flow compaired to the pentel pocket brush? i fiond the clour brush pen is really good but the pocket brush gives out way to much ink way to quickly for me. thanks for the review anyways i might check these out!
I can’t remember the paper. But ink works well usually on smoother paper
Would you be able to use heavy inks like those marketed as calligraphy inks? What able liquid watercolors?
Avoid pigmented inks, generally speaking. Only use inks that specifically mention they are safe for fountain pen use
Looks like it could be eye drop fill-able with some silicon grease. Anyone find if they ship to the US?
You can get one just like these on aliexpress.
*Can you use India Ink in this brush pen?*
(I usually use Black Cat india ink with my dip pens and or standard brushes).
Don't use India ink in any pen. Only use inks that mention specifically they are safe for fountain pen use.
Great review. Where can these be purchased in the states or is Straits the only place?
Unfortunately, it's just sold at Straits (Singapore).
I only see 1 size on the website, is there a link that provides both sizes?
Not sure about that. Got to ask them
Can we use these pens with ph martins hydrus liquid colors?
Those pigmented watercolour can clog the brush pen
Probably, brushpens usually work with almost anything that is not acrylics. (Even acrylics work alright before eventually clogging)
Would India Ink work in this, as in Pentel's?
India ink should not be used inside any pen. It will clog
I went to Straits Art and they don’t know what I’m talking about. What is the keyword I can use to obtain this product. Thank you for your help.
Brush pen
Wonder if this would work with water?
It should
looks like the 2 dollar brush pen i bought on shopee 5 years ago.
looks a lot like a Noodler's pen ..
