My wife is a filipino and she just sent me this trailer. This looks hysterical. My wife was actually packing boxes this week to ship back to Manila.
B-)
As a Filipino I relate to this so much lolol
Has she emptied your cupboard?
😂😂typical pinoy..box box we all send box
My wife just did yesterday! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Im not filipino but I’m happy to see the community getting some representation I love their culture and their beautiful country!
And the LUMPIA!! 😋
As a Filipino American, born in The Philippines raised in The US, I thank you for the wonderful comment. 😊 MABUHAY! 👍👍🤘🤘
thanks Lilly❤️❤️❤️
Thank you
Amen, sista! 👏 👏
As a Mexican I identify with our Filipinos cousins. We even love Pacquiao too, lol ( Marquez vs Pacquiao were great fights). I will definitely see it in theaters.
Facts 😆 🤝
Dela Hoya was the best Mexican for me. 🇵🇭🙏
Bruh I ain't your cousin. Some similarities due to Spanish colonization but other than that Filipinos in general don't see Mexicans as "cousins." Filipinos are Filipinos and Mexicans are Mexicans.
@@TickleMeElmo55 It's metaphor. Don't be literal. 🙄
@@TickleMeElmo55 Yup, youre that guy in the party talking to a plant
“Oh yeah… the guy that couldn’t beat mayweather”
As a Filipino that line made me laugh and made me mad at the same time 😂
That made me laugh at loud
Gangster: "Oh yeah (Pacquiao), the guy who couldn't beat Mayweather."
Filipinos (pretty much everywhere): "So, you have chosen...death."
Hilarious
It’s not like Canelo beat mayweather either 🤷♂️
But no one beat Mayweather. Tbf, Manny couldn't beat him cos Mayweather kept running away. One has a complete record, the other is a legend (and so-so politician).
Finally a Filipino American representation. Hope this bring more Filipino culture in the community for tv and movies.
No
@@DaddyFutbol huh?
@@gold3374 it's not bringing Representation when it's a full blown Parody of Filipino stereotypes. That's like making a Mexican Representation of cholos and lazy Mexicans under cactus. Not an ideal Representation of a culture or race lol
Actually, the first Filipino American movie to be on the big screen was ‘The Debut’ in 2000 starring Dante Basco. Though this is great to have another Pinoy movie to be making a ‘debut’ again 22 years later! 😎👍🏼
@@DaddyFutbol Yes
My partner is Filipino and I’m literally crying right now because I’m so happy to finally see big time representation for this beautiful culture.
Cool story. Ur lame asf

Although I'm not Filipino, I used to live there, adopted 2 kids from there, still have a lot of friends there and travel back every few years. So I know and love the culture. This trailer hit the nail on the head so many times. Made me laugh and smile. So glad the Filipino community is represented in a major film.
Help.... 🙏🇵🇭🇯🇵🇪🇹🇱🇷🥺
Finally, Jo Koy is getting some love. His standup shows are hilarious. Super excited to see this movie about his family!
Lol he's been getting love for years. He's been selling out arenas for close to a decade
Right! He’s so underrated. His standup never fails
o_0 he's been famous for like 15 years.
@@tebhernandez I know so many people that have never heard of him. I’m like what?! He’s phucking hilarous, lemme show you! lol
As a Jamaican.... Well listen, I love Jo Koy and I love that he's representing his culture. Support! Support! Support! #JoKoy #Josep 😁
Jo has been working in the entertainment industry for 30 years. Most people would've already given up but he kept going with little to no money. I love seeing people like him finally getting credit for what they do.
Jo Koy has some insane drive and tenacity! Dude now sells out arenas!!!
So happy to see Filipino culture getting more exposed. As an immigrant from The Philippines myself, I for one am happy and proud to be a Pinoy. Can't wait to see this with my family! 😊

I can’t for this movie! Finally a movie that represent Filipinos on the big screen!

😂😂 "box office numbers"
@Jame Moself why do you think so?
definetely.
Looks horrible though…
Look at those million views! Filipinos will unite in making this at the top box office! And yes I got teary eyed while watching it. Thanks Jokoy for always sharing your experience and sharing our culture!
15 million views for a 2 month old uploaded video.
I'm Filipino American - 1st gen born - and this is entirely accurate with only slight exaggerations. Yes, a lot of these situations are funny, yet accurate.😂 can't wait to watch this!
WOW! It’s so nice to see a hollywood movie actually focusing and introducing Filipino community and culture. I was taken aback seeing the trailer. Just wow! FILIPINOS.... LET’S VOLT IN to support this movie and show the world we are FILIPINOS INDEED!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
filipino american*.
Awesome, first major studio movie to focus on a Filipino family. Finally, some representation. Looking forward to it! Jokoy is hilarious.
it's not bringing Representation when it's a full blown Parody of Filipino stereotypes. That's like making a Mexican Representation of cholos and lazy Mexicans under cactus. Not an ideal Representation of a culture or race lol
Pretty sure there is a plethora of representation from the Phillipines
@@shadowbanned5164 To repeat what I said in my first comment since you didn't read it or comprehend it correctly. This is the first time we have Filipino representation for the whole main cast from a major studio from the USA. Sure, there's a ton of Filipino movies or movies with Filipino actors out there, but I'm talking about from a major film studio like Universal Pictures. I don't think I can explain it in simpler terms.
@@that_leia251 May have mattered 20 years ago but who really gives a shit with todays woke hollywood releasing anything?
Y'all forgetting The Debut
When Spiderman was shown here in Qatar, Filipinos inside theaters were ecstatic during the tiny scene with the lola(grandmother), how much more on this movie. I look forward to see Filipinos filling the theaters along side with other nationalities.
😂 yas! That's what mostly why my mom wanted to watch it. Because of the Filipino part
My boyfriend was laughing at Lola’s request to clean off the ceiling before Ned translated for Peter/the audience. It was really cute to me. He just sent me this trailer and I’m so excited to see this!
Aw, you’re living in Qatar I almost took a job in Qatar instead I chose Turkey.

This looks cute, I'm not Filipino and would totally watch this! This is so close to my Italian family dynamic right down to the organized crime and the totally pointless feud. Plus I'd follow Niecy Nash anywhere.
Neicy Nash? lol Are you confusing Neicy Nash with Tiffany Haddish?😂
I think this has to be the only filipino-american representation based movie in hollywood.. i am so happy as a filipino. thank you Universal pictures

Universal Pictures just hit a jackpot on this movie. Imagine the Filipino population in the whole world will watch this, it is a possible top grosser!
Sadly 90% of filipinos back at home would just pirate the movie.
Not only Filipinos but also Hispanics because we also celebrate Easter Sunday.
@@markolokoy luh look for the top grossing films in the philippines…
That's why Universal did it. I'm sure they did their market analysis. They sure need the money.

My mom's Filipino coworkers introduced me to Ube cake, and I've been obsessed ever since!!! ALL HAIL UBE 💜💜💜💜 Can't wait to watch this movie.
Grew up in California with a mom who was a nurses aid. As such, I've known a huge number of Filipinos. Love Jo Koy's comedy, and cannot wait for this movie.
The atm PIN got me weak! It’s on point! I thought it was only our family! 🤣🤦🏻♀️😂
Proud Filipino here! Proud of JoKoy! 🥹
I don't ever recall Daly City ever being mentioned in a movie - love it.
Really love it
SAAAAME
What's with Daly City? Is it because a lot of Filipinos are living from that state?
@@marlontabora1503 I went on a trip to San Francisco and when the people found out I was Filipino they asked if I was going to Daly City. It's like Little Manilla. Heavily Filipino

I am excited to see this! Something new and introducing us to more Filipino community! This will pave the way to more Filipino actors and actresses in hollywood movies. Filipinos got so much to offer and they need to be recognized and prove those stereotypes wrong. I hope its on Netflix toooo! CAN'T WAIT!
For everyone wondering why a movie called Easter Sunday is being released in August: August is one of the "dump months" in the industry, so the studio thinks this won't do well. Let's prove them wrong! Mabuhay!
I was really wondering why a movie called Easter Sunday but after watching it I realized what they meant by naming it Easter Sunday.
Thanks for the explanation. Makes me want to support it that much more. Hope it does well.
In a interview it was stated that it was scheduled to come out in April but due to the pandemic it was pushed back
I am positive every Filipino person in US will watch this.
And every filipino here in PH would just pirate it. Unfortunate

This warms my heart knowing that filipinos are getting recognition in the movie industry!
You don't need recognition from these people. Do your own thing. Creme rises to the top.

Ever since I’ve seen his first stand up special, I was always expecting to see him in a movie like this. Looks great!!!
OMG, totally relate......take me back to San Francisco in the 90s.
It is good to see another Pinoy heritage movie in the spotlight... the first was ‘The Debut’ starring Dante Basco as the son of a Filipino immigrant, who learns the importance of being true to your family and your roots. Salamat, Jo Koy for bringing the Filipino American family culture to light again, 22 yrs. later.
This made me cry. I never thought there’d be a movie that I relate to so much.
Exactly
Awe wow ❤️ I can't wait to watch.
I absolutely LOVE JO KOY!!! Soooo excited he’s finally getting big screen time. I’m not Filipino but as a Mexican American I can relate to a lot of the things he talks about with family members
I am Filipino and this is EXACTLY what living in a Filipino family is like! 1:13-1:15 is prob the most accurate from a Filipino family member tbh
the wooden spoon and fork on the wall though...hahahaha love it
This is just like the common Filipino family movies here in the Philippines but in English adaption/translation😂 and i love it!!😍♥️🇵🇭
This is literally the Filipino Family, Culture and pretty much everything right here
My family is legit planning an entire family outing to the theater when this comes out. So excited!!!

I laughed so hard and the same time irratated hahaha
" and I've got to follow mom's dream and become a nurse." why is this so accurate
Good to see TIa Carrere is back, most definitely going to watch this.
God bless you Jokoy. God used you to be an instrument to represent Filipinos in the world stage.
Amen to that. Jokoy seems like a nice guy with a big heart. I saw some videos of his old interviews that he is actually still friends with his ex-wife, and also his dad. He provides a lot to his mom, sister, son. God has bleesed him so much indeed.
(Fil-Am here). Just what I can ascertain from the trailer, it looks to be filled with cultural tropes (including the melodrama), but it's a legit representation of what happens in our families. Another subtler movie to watch is Hallmark's "Right in Front of Me" (features Pinoy male protagonist, lots of reference to Filipino food).
I can’t wait to watch this movie. I missed Filipino culture and I wanna go back home soon.
Being a filipino this is good. Mabuhay!
Just checked the Box office, it flopped. Dammmm , was rooting for them and this film.
I'm viet and this trailer feels so relatable, my family is like that
ASEAN culture are siblings
im not expecting much from this movie because of comments that it is cringy. but surprisingly, i enjoyed it. good job for the filipino perspective.
After listening to all his standup I’m glad we get to see more of his MOM! “Joseph…”
OMG a whole big budget movie about a Filipino family!? I am in shock!
Yes me too. My cousin sent me this video. I never heard that Jokoy has an upcoming movie. Based on his past videos, he has been talking about it for a year before this trailer. So when i saw Universal and Dreamworks on this trailer... I. Was. Shocked. Wow. I said, "Steven Spielberg called him to do a movie??". I saw a video where Jokoy actually cried when he was talking about how Steven Spielberg got him to do this. Wow. Thank God. Finally, a Hollywood movie with Filipino casts depicting Filipino culture.
Jo Koy is HILARIOUS! I would DEFINITELY SEE THIS! 🤣🤣🤣
I couldn’t stop laughing watching it even if they only showed few Filipino habit. I bet there will be more of those.
I love this guy! He is a legend…he is a half Filipino but more Filipino than some Filipinos…My IDOL!
I’m not Filipino at all but when they did the “1217” I said, “Thats Manny’s birthday.” I have to see this movie. I love Jo Koy.
“How are you feeling?” 😂
Boy this comes off so hard as an early 2000s comedy lmao
wow as a Filipino I am proud waiting for 10k ayuda
This is such an awesome platform to get to know us Filipinos up close and personal. Thank you Jo Koy and to the rest of the cast and crew.
Non-Filipino here (obviously). I found the movie to be pretty funny and charming. Had fun watching it.
Jo Koy so completely hilarious as Tiffany Haddish. LOL 😂
That email scenario 2:32 got me dying!!! Omg.
I will literally watch anything with this man in it.
HAHAHA seeing Jo Koy talk to his mom on the phone is exactly how it goes with a Filipino mom. Normally at inopportune times like driving or at work followed by easy miscommunication.
"we should put them both in the box and ship it" LOL😂 the expression when he said that
Favorite part lol
I also saw the reviews and the whole time I kept thinking "Shut up! You don't know what you're talking about & leave my Joe Ko alone !"
And then I went to see the movie and the first thing I said to my friend next to me was "Oh my God, the critic was right!" I have to admit this movie was a lot of his same old material that we've already seen .
I did like the movie, but honestly I wouldn't pay to see it.
It really was only an okay movie.
I recommend people just wait to see it on Netflix.
I'm so happy to get representation!!!! A movie about Filipino families!! My mama is gonna be so excited when I tell her!!!
Of course they play the Black Eyed Peas LMAO
Even opening the balikbayan boxes sent by my sister or my aunts abroad is a ritual. Everyone gathers as I open the box. As I pull out each item, I have to check if it has a name on it and then sort it per family. Then the ones without any names on it, we divide it equally per family. The usual contents are melted chocolates, chocolates and candies from trick or treating, coffee, tea, nutella, Spam, vitamins for mom and dad, soaps and shampoos from hotels, shoes, shirts, and toys. My favorite part in all of this is smelling inside the freshly opened box. That's how we think the USA and Australia smells like. To all the Filipinos abroad who sends their family these huuuge care boxes, thank you. We know that you all worked hard for each item you thoughtfully put in the box. Thank you, Kuya Jokoy and the people who make this movie happen.
I love Filipino people so much. I cannot wait for this. There better be at least 3 rice cooker jokes in this movie 🤣🤣🤣
Finally a Filipino movie! Bringing my parents to see it for sure, hopefully enough of us see it to support more movies like these
