The wife and I are getting a white V8 with 420hp to match our 2013 Optima Hybrid EX also white. The Panoramic sunroof with the white is pristine! We are huge Kia fans! Paid $37K cash for the severely loaded hybrid, and can't wait to spend $67k cash for a loaded K900! Took the Hybrid to Pittsburgh which is wifey's hometown, round trip from Florida 48.5 miles per gallon!! Filled up twice, once heading north, once heading south.
I saw this car in Russia. Looks way better in person than in pics. Most cars do. Kia has been making really nice cars lately. I chose my optima sxl over BMW 328 and Cadillac ats 2.0, the other 2 cars that I was considering, and never looked back.
Bought a kia optima turbo a year ago. I have to say it's a really nice car with decent power for a family car. Recently put some all season performance tires on it. It's just a great car to drive now even with the whole family in it.

Kia is awesome I own a 2012 Kia optima sx turbo and I love it but I wouldn't mind trading it for the cadenza or k900
I saw this car at the mall, it looks pretty cool and build quality is impressive, you may compare it to an Audi A7, BMW 5 in terms of price vs performance.

i saw one of these on the road the other day and i did a double take
maybe this one isn't defective. Our 2015 K900 VIP just like the white one above has been in the shop 29 of 55 days we've owned it since 3/9/15. The parking brake has a defect that makes the car shudder like you've been hit. It came back from Cottonwood Kia after being there over 3 weeks and the noise is worse, 2 paint gouges on the front hood, uninstalled trim loose on the floor, and wadded candy wrapper under the seat, and they put over 600 miles on the car, when the problem has been backing up from a stop. We bought this car so my 100% combat disabled vet husband could travel with out pain on all the bumpy roads and for an occasional road trip. Its a beautiful car but our car and Kia service is a disaster so far. We see it more on the tow truck than we get to drive it. Our recent cars were a Toyota and a Honda so we forgot what a nightmare a car can be when the warranty and service are just a piece of paper.
Why does Kia compare itself to Lexus!!! Lexus is on a whole other level!!!!!!!!

Lexus' new line up has gotten a lot of praise from everyone who drives them, haven't you seen the match up of the GS F sport and Cadillac CTS V sport? Jonny says that the GS is better than ALL its German rivals. And the 2014 IS has also gotten many awards and praises for its driving, build quality, and reliability as well. A Lexus is not an overpriced Toyota.
And btw I don't hate Kia, they have really stepped it up, but they aren't Lexus.

This is definitely be my shortlisted car if it comes into Msia Market. Sad to see there are very few believer out there which never think outside of the box. I hope you (KIA & Hyundai) will make your mark in the auto world just like what Samsung and LG did in the electronic segment.
KIA must have changed their design team, the Optima is beautiful, the K900 (police dog?) is ho-hum. Jauguar-ish in the front and Lexus-ess in the rear. What's with the unusually shaped (dare I say ugly) air intake vents on the side? I for one still prefer German brand styling cues.
Looks good by 09-2010 standards. Think id get the equus over the K900, but i have to admit it'll probably have a better interior over the equus
If the K900 starts at $50k then how much will the Hyundai Genesis cost? Its kind of shocks me because last years Genesis starts at $35k.

Ilyaaz Bilal You have probably never ridden in a KIA EQUUS, Take a personal look and drive 1, and the 400 is better, if it isn't the EQUUS' replacement.
I agree, the Optima looks amazing, but the k900 still has that early 2000's look to the car. They decided not to go with the more aggressive look what I notice the younger people and myself love. I like a grill that has a furious look to it, it shows that this car means business and when you look in the inside you know the person does business. If they extended the length of the Optima and made a even higher version of it with all the same features of the k900 I would of considered purchasing this car in the future. (not going to lie the futures for a back seat passenger is amazing and so is the interior for the price point)

Just like Genesis and Equus this will suffer from a lack of optional AWD. Hyundai now has it on the 2015 Genesis but the Equus and K900 will be held back as long as that option is omitted. I suppose they're saving it for the redesign in a few years.
50k for the v6? I mean what could you say. This is somewhat an impressive car.. Kia has come a long way.. I think they nailed it with the optima! No doubt! But the overall look of this car is not something i will run to the dealership wanting to take a test drive... Your almost there Kia!! For that price i would rather buy the 2014 CTS V-series.
i like the back but i think the front is a little simple. needs more style in front. bigger grille maybe
The Kia Optima is by far a much better choice given these 3 models. It has an aggressive styling that mimics Audi's sleek exterior. The technology in the SX trim is superb and outstanding in the SXL. The K 900 looks so deformed as far as the front is concerned. The headlights are just awful and the exterior design isn't as good as the Optima. The Cadenza, although much better looking than the K 900 also suffers from a bad headlight design. The K 900 and Cadenza are probably great performers but lack good looks. The Optima is a great car as far as looks and performance is concerned. And it is much more affordable, which car buyers should be happy about.

Kia hasn't been up to LEXUS level yet, But they have really stepped up for the last ten years. Who knows? One day, people would willingly pay more for Kia over Lexus.. just like Samsung and LG did to all those Japanese TV makers.

Why do kia and Hyundai insist on putting their names on their luxury vehicles that's like Lexus putting Toyota all over it, not smart.
They are not confident enough to cut off all their old brand connection yet I think. because they still want to use the old brand's market effect, a completely new brand and new badge will make their cars in the danger of totally no marketing recognition. At the end, their luxury brands will totally separate from their current brands kia and hyundai I think, but it will take some time. Rome wasn't build in one day, right?
I think I read somewhere that they realized coming up with a new brand would cost just way too much. They will have to have all new dealers set up across the states, give up pre-existing hyundai/kia dealers, etc. Yeah, I agree it would be nice to put their new luxury brands, and I am sure they have considered it.
They're not trying to make a luxury brand and they're not trying to sell a lot of these cars. They're using these cars to change public opinion on the Kia brand.

Because they don't plan on having a separate Luxury brand.
They don't plan on having 5 or more luxury models like Toyota did.

The Tesla S-1 makes buying one of these a huge step backward. If one must own a gasoline luxo cruiser better to buy a two year old, low mileage Lexus or S-Class.

Still some copying from other brands, but it's a good start. well done, Kia. It tops out at about $65-66k, but I'm sure ppl can get few thousands off through discount. Overall, that is alot of car and value for about $61-62k.

I understand where Kia hopes to be headed, but I feel they are doing it in a haphazard manner. If they are going to introduce a letter car, perhaps they should alter all other models to reflect this change. K900, Optima, Cadenza, etc. There seems to be no flow or consistency to the model structure.
Actually I'm pretty sure they will in Korea all sedans from Kia are lettered with odd one digit numbers, optima = k5, cadenza = k7, k900, k9, there is a smaller k3, although I'm not sure if there is the equivalent in the US market.

kelvin oliver The k900 doesn't compete with the impala or 300 - it's double the price of those. It competes with the Mercedes S and the BMW 7. The Cadenza more competes with 300 and Impala. Also Kia makes their cars in Georgia USA and designs them in California. So yes - all american.

kelvin oliver If you knew then you wouldn't have said that. The 300 isn't even close to as nice as a K900; they aren't even in the same class. The Impala isn't even as nice as the K900's little brother the Kia Cadenza. I just test drove both - The Impala isn't even on the same planet as the K900. If you said "not as nice as a Mercedes S class or Audi A8" then maybe you'd have a point. Not comparing it to an IMPALA. Good grief.

I agree somewhat. It is an OK car. But Europeans make the best cars in the world. For example the new S Class with hot stone massage seats and a buisness telephone in the back could make this look like a plastic toy. But still OK car. (i would buy this before i would buy a cadillac)
