I don't keep up with star wars things too closely, but for whatever it's worth, Rian Johnson was saying his trilogy is still on the table and not canceled back in December while doing Glass Onion interviews. But... I do wonder if he'd actually get the go-ahead if he told Kathleen Kennedy he wants to get back to it for his next project.
I just don't see them funding an entire new trilogy from him. Last Jedi was nice to look at, but he fucked up the story with the decisions he made, and his treatment of Luke in his final SW movie as a living character was a crime. SW needs fresh ideas and a new start, completely detached from the sequels.
Star Wars has been creatively bankrupt for a v e r y long time. I knew they were destined for bad things when LEGO got the license and killed imagination.
Funny timing but, yes, Rian Johnson's trilogy is officially axed by Disney (srouce: www.small-screen.co.uk/rian-johnson-star-wars-trilogy-scrapped/)

Neither him or Disney seem prepared to address that elephant in the room, but let's just say I would be very shocked if it ever happens.
What's your source for the Rian Johnson trilogy being cancelled? By all accounts it's still happening, and those are recent accounts too.

Intuition... but I guess anything's possible!
