As much as the talent you show in repairing these tools, you have to hand it to the designers of the tool itself. A lot of work has gone into developing these tools and how they work. Also, get a load of the size of that spring would you and the meatyness of those parts what a beautiful design. Thank you for allowing us to see the repair and inner workings of these tools it's very fascinating watching you repair them.
amazing video, i work for dewalt service in belgium as a technician. We even do not open it but replace the part in total. That is because we need to repair a lot of tools in a day and sadly we do not have the time to go in full depth. The only thing you are doing wrong is the grease part. It schould be white and black grease on the gears and not yellow. Also de nose schould be greased up. But at the end grease is grease ;) amazing job. We schould do it like that to. It would be much cheaper for the customer to let his tool repaired.
Looks very similar to my MAC Tools impact, except mine has brushes, gave me more confidence to take it apart, regrease and check for any damage, amazing video.
On mine the anvil stopped turning too. I took it apart and the impact hammer mechanism was just jammed - I just unjammed it by moving it around with my hand and the spring snapped it back. Put it back together and it works now. Hopefully that helps someone.
Thank you so much for this video, I’m learning how To repair these as we speak. I didn’t know how the ball bearings went in on the impact or shaft. What grease are you using for reassembly?
Mate you certainly know your power tools your knowledge is extensive on all types Could you advise me of all the battery gear out there which one would you buy over another Cheers
20 volts is a marketing gimmick. when under load, the running voltage from the batteries generally floats around 18 volts, but in thye flexvolt/powerstack batteries, I think ive seen those measured closer to 19-20 under load.
How important is it to have the plastic thrust washer in-between the anvil and housing? Mine somehow got torn up and jammed in the gun causing it to have a lot of drag with a depressed trigger. Finding the washer itself is rather difficult. I can only find a kit with the anvil and housing
Thanks for finding and fixing the problem, I've already ordered the part. Sure its easy to throw it away, but I actually enjoy fixing stuff. Take care, sir🫡.

Like that you give more info on this video, some of us are dummies and don't read between the lines yet until we get a better understanding of it

Good to see the master at work. You cannot buy years of experience. Thank you for the schooling. 👍

The Mac tools impact is a dewalt. You can even swap over internals.
Great video. Thanks for the explanation and walking us through the process.

Nice one. Portrait shot👌
Well done with that one 👍🏻 threw me for a loop filming in portrait mode
Excellent video Thank You for taking the time to make it.
This was a very useful video to me. I got a Ryobi one that has a broken steel ball as well. Now I know how to fix it.
Keep up the good content it’s very entertaining I guess I’m a bit of a nerd. While other people watch Netflix I watch repairing videos.
That ball bearing actually is in the Anvil I repaired a few of them and they have been there
GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU
very informative and interesting helpful video, thank you, glad there is no pounding drums or swirling whooshing intrusive background noise, great vid

Thank you and God bless you
Addictive viewing and what type of grease are you using and are there different types for different tools/ areas on the tools?
Superfluous Third Ball
That’s a new one.
I am surprised the 18v was still around in 2018. Thought the 20v was the thing.
It is regional. 20v marking is only for US.

18v is 20v max
Great stuff

can you tell me what grease you used when you put it back together...?
Yes plz
What do you use to clean the grease off the gears they look so clean
Brake cleaner spray, just be careful with it around rubber and plastic parts.
Great video.
Thanks!
Hey bud the one side of the anvil on my Dewalt DCF880 broke off. Can i still use it while waiting for the replacement part?
Where do you get those long driver bits?
i got some on ebay
Awesome video!
When this problem picture ? If someone drop the gun or when ?
Lets say nothing about the washer leftover on the bench! :-D
Mad!
Live to UGGA DUGGA another day 😅
👍👍
When you have 3 balls instead of 2 its always a problem
As long as the shaft is ok
Did a drunk Scot lose his kilt the other night ?
You’re wasting your time repairing that stuff. With your talent you could repair anything.
Did you murder a Scottish man?
У меня тоже была такая проблема на 400H ryobi , также размолотило стопорные подшибники.
Thanks for finding and fixing the problem, I've already ordered the part. Sure its easy to throw it away, but I actually enjoy fixing stuff. Take care, sir🫡.
