I've always wondered why most people are partial to Topdon especially given the fact that their software is said to be based on Launch's. I'm considering scan tool options myself, so thanks for putting this tool through its paces.
Excellent video Sadel! I like the X431 Scanner and everything you can do with it! I just don't remember if you can bypass some factory options that some manufacturers have like work support in latest cars like Nissan! Some special functions that they ask you for user ID and password. Really good scanner Sadel for the price. Thank you for sharing brother.
It needed both. The aux battery had no reserve. It should be 150 -200 higher than the rating. After a couple of stop/starts it would be low because of no reserve. It would be in long duration of charging. You should have shown the new battery tested after charging. You'd see what I mean. Typically batteries degrade in a 4 year duration. Always been that way. Now with IBS & stop/start, the issues start around 3.5 years b/c of loss of reserve. More prevalent in around town cars vs hiway driven. The other reason to do as a pair is, if you just did the main battery, as the aux battery continued to degrade, it puts more stress on the main battery.
How did you manage to reset the code? I just installed both batteries new and the code is still up. What did you do to register the batteries with the car?

BMW isn’t one to bypass. They are very finicky and need to be good

You have to use a capable scanner, I used Launch brand scanner. You have to do 2 separate battery resets for the code to go away.

I've had the same issue with the autel. I wasn't able to download teamviewer on mine either. Might have to contact autel directly for assistance.
