I’ve had a 2019 5.0 new to 30k, 2021 2.7 new to 20k and now a 2023 2.7 currently at 2k after 6 months. I love the sound of the 5.0 but the extra qts oil for the 5.0 at oil change made it $120 at the time for an oil change, hauled and towed like a dream and needed full cab was reason for trading in. 2021 I custom ordered, loved it and had it on multiple road triple from the NE to the South and was averaging almost 27mpg at times. Traded in just to try something else and didn’t like the vehicle I got inbetween and 4 months later went into a 23 2.7 with 36 gallon tank (750+ miles of range), trailer tow package and absolutely love it. Still miss my 21 truck since it was a custom order. Never had any issues with any of them. I personally don’t like the new front end of the 24s right now but maybe it will grow on me.

I have a 2023 2.7L EcoBoost F150 with a 23 gallon tank and I get just over 500 miles on it. With the 34 gallon expanded tanks on 2024's it will be over 700 miles. And mine is a 4X4! I've ordered a 2024.

Biggest thing for me is i find the f150 (22 lariat powerboost for me) SEATS sooooo much better/more comfy than the GM seats....huge difference! Anyone else?

I've owned 2 Ford's 15, n 19, XLT... I had the V8, n 3.5... great trucks, one @50,000 miles, traded, n now a 70,000. Only issue was the remote start, under warranty no issue. I'm out of warranty but Ford sent me an email offering extended warranty up to 160,000 miles for 19 a month, with a 500 deductible.
Great towing, with locking diff the truck is great on the trails. I have a year left and I'm definitely keeping her. The 3.5 has been known to hit 250,000+ miles. Good luck

Should you look into ordering again I would recommend looking into Granger Ford, as of today they're doing 4% under invoice (no special plan required) on ordered 24's.

5.0 oil consumption has been fixed with a reprogram on the compression. If you get a Ford I would highly recommend the 5.0 over the rest. I’m a service advisor and I don’t see many 5.0’s in my shop. 3.5’s with the old phasers from 2017-2019 are common
Also 3.5’s from 2017-2019 with CDF Drums are common
I don’t see many 2.7’s either unless it’s the 10 speed transmission for the CDF Drum replacement and those are 17.5 hour jobs
Phaser jobs are 12 hour jobs
Phaser parts are right at $800 and the CDF Drum is right at $900 for parts.
Other than that the number one problem I’m seeing is the APIM and those are right around $700 with labor it’s $1400

    I have a 2021 2.7.
    Love the truck, but...
I would not choose that engine again.
3.5 is just that much better balanced and able.
3.5 hybrid is my favorite, but part of my bias is I drive 85% in the city.
The 5.0 is simple and reliable with less long term maintenance.

I just ordered a 24 F150 platinum Plus hybrid with the 3.5L. I'm coming from a 22 superduty platinum. just gettin to old to be bouncing around in a 3/4 ton but don't get me wrong I love that superduty. I had a 21 F150 hybrid as a loaner when the wife's car was getting repaired. 430 hp and 500+ tq and great mileage to boot. Seat comfort in the platinum is off the chart.

Why not look at the 2024 Ford Ranger with its new design and large portrait screen. They are offering the 2.7 from the 150 in the ranger late in 2024 and that should be fairly quick and if thats not enough then move up to a Ranger Raptor with the 3.0. The midsized trucks have grown to almost full size. They are not going to have the large fuel tank but there is plus and minus with that. Sure you can go farther on a tank and not fill up as much however you are also hauling around extra weight and losing mpg because of that so over time you are spending more money in fuel cost. I have a '19 F250 with the 6.2 and large tank but when the wife and daugter are with their bladders only last a quarter of a tank so we are stopping whether I need fuel or not. The midsize truck is going to be a little better for those tight parking garages and city driving with a tighter turning radius. Also the new tacoma platform is looking good and the HP/Torque numbers of the up and coming hybrid engine combo look pretty sweet. Since you already have the new 1/2 ton might be interesting to switch it up.

I agree. I own both the GMC Denali ultimate as well as a ford f-150 2023 5.0 L. My perspective is always more accurate versus the channels than borrow, review, and return. I’m at rolling rims. I can 💯 agree “owners know better…” that’s my mantra for 2024🎉

Enjoyed your video. I’m currently looking at both the 3.0 duramax, as well as the 3.5 ecoboost for my next truck. I’m in a ‘17 2.7 ecoboost now, and looking to upgrade power and range. Does your High Country have cloth or leather seats? Front buckets or bench? Thanks for the great info!

Hey Jay!! Love your content... I do have to say the back up camera on my 2023 Chevy Silverado is trash.. I have already been to the dealership twice because my camera intermittently goes to a blank, black screen whenever I'm backing up.. it's so annoying because I have the refreshed infotainment system and it is so glitchy.. hopefully you don't have those problems.
