    I've watched so many reviews and comparisons, but you nailed it with "the A6400 is for shooting others and the ZV E10 is for shooting yourself." So simple and concise, but there is so much behind that statement.

    Awesome video as always. I think what I like most about your videos is the fact that you give a real opinion. You put yourself out there, and choose a direction, instead of just saying, "but it's really just up to you." I think people always know it's up to them, but I also think it's helpful when you lay out the reasons for deciding to go in a certain direction, and then boldly stating, "so this is clearly the way to go." I think there's much more value to a video like that, and I think that's what most people are actually looking for. People are always going to ultimately do what they want to do, but a strong opinion, and clear reasons leading up to that opinion, are really valuable.

      My goal is to help others based on my own experience!
      When I am reviewing gear, I am focused on what it’s like to actually use the device, not JUST my opinion!
      If I don’t feel I have a firm understanding of the gear, I won’t review it or I’ll let it be known that my experience is limited.
      Thanks again Rock for your support!

    I want to let you know that I have looked at more reviews for these two cameras and I can count. This was by far the most practical one. The experience in the work that you've done shows in the way you explain the differences of this camera. Not one other person has been able to explain the differences in the way that you have and I can only assume that that is because of your background with the work itself. Thank you for this fantastic review!

    Great video brother. I have watched 3 videos comparing these cameras and this video put it in such a way that I am confidently moving forward with the ZV E10.
    Couple things:
    1. Loved the intro - I felt like you were talking straight to me and it calmed me down (its stressful buying expensive things and not knowing which is the best for you).
    2. Loved your overall demeanor - Calm and professional. I felt your personality and vibe shine through.
    3. I value that you gave a confidant answer on who would benefit from either. Many people become paralyzed by being afraid they will make the wrong choice, so your feedback was simple and helps us make up our minds.

    Enjoying your informative information, thanks.
    I’m a Nikon fanboy of many years standing , shooting both FF and aspc, going back to 35 mm film days and developing and printing my efforts. I live in the Philippines now where the indigenous citizens actually embrace being photographed. I need to remain unobtrusive though, needed a small piece of equipment that would allow me to remain largely anonymous..I have a Nikon Z50 but it’s too bulky to fit those requirements..enter the Sony ZV-E10 cw a 10-20 mm f4 , what a revelation. I don’t vlog I’m just a still shooter , so I just work around the lack of an EVF no problem. The 16-50 variable lens that came with the Sony is so sweet to use. Got the 35mm prime also.
    I find your manner of delivery so easy to take in and listen to. Nice pace of articulation too.
    I mainly shoot monochrome being inspired by Daido Moriyama .
    Thanks again.

    I went with the ZV-E10 and am loving it. When I first got it I felt like the stabilization was pretty bad, especially coming from taking video with an iPhone, but somehow after using it for a couple of weeks my results look way better even before doing anything in catalyst. Not sure how that happened, guess I just got better at holding the camera. I’d say I’m to the point now that my videos with zero stabilization look about as good as they did on day one with active stabilization turned on. And catalyst does an amazing job with the footage. Only thing I don’t like about it is having to crank up the shutter speed…especially since I’m still on the kit lens and sometimes really need that extra light going down to 24p @ 1/50. That’s the one thing that still has me looking at gimbals. But all in all, I really am digging the ZV-E10. Coming from the OG RX100, it feels pretty liberating to be able to start getting nice lenses for different types of photography.

      @@dr.s5688 for me it has been amazing. I added the Sony 35mm 1.8 lens to my gear and have gotten a lot of great shots with it as well as the kit lens. Some photo oriented reviewers have mentioned they have a big issue with the camera not having a viewfinder and I see their point…sometimes in the bright outdoors it’s hard to really gauge the exposure etc but I just click away and haven’t had any issues I couldn’t make look good in post. Stellar presentation again, thanks. May I ask a question?: If I get the ZV-E10 and the Sigma 16mm F/1.4, is there still any reason to get the kit lens? Does it do anything decently well that the Sigma does not? Or is it better to apply the $100 saved toward another lens maybe?

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  Рік тому +1

      One big advantage to having the kit lens is the ability to zoom. This can come in handy depending on the type things you are shooting like vlogs. As I mentioned in a another comment, you can also check out the Sony 18-105 F4. I would recommend this one over the kit lens. I hope this helps.

    Very clear presentation. Very nice content. I am still on the fence on which one to get.
    I like the evf, body, and controls of the A6400 as I have used Canon 550D from the past. But I like swivel LCD, gyro data, and other easy functions on the ZV E10.
    I won't be doing professional work, just for family casual shooting and I am the "default" photographer in our family. If only the ZV E10 has an evf, it would be an easy decision for me. Currently leaning towards ZV E10 at the moment as it is still much cheaper than A6400.

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  Рік тому +1

      Those are all valid points! I will say that the good thing about the ZV-E10 is it's resale value! If you were to pick one up and didn't like it, you could always sell it and use that money towards the A6400.
      Since the lenses are the same, you could keep the lenses!
      I hope this helps.

    The look you have on this video is exactly what I am looking for in a new camera. I only do video, basically I build computers part time, so I just want a camera that can give that same look you are going for here and showcase the computer's interiors once they are finish so I imagine for that low light is important. Which camera do you use if you don't mind me asking?

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  2 роки тому +2

      I primarily use the Sony A6400.
      The key to getting good low light shots is lighting!
      Many people think that low “performance” means shooting with almost no light but it just means shaping and controlling your light so that things are properly exposed.
      With that being said, you should be able to achieve this same look with the A6400 and good lens like the Sigma 16mm 1.4!
      I hope this helps!

But , I wanted to start taking shots on my camera as well as other things pertaining videography. I thought about upgrading to a full frame or the zv10 to get that much more cleaner and crisper look but I don’t know. I think I might stay with the a6400 and get the sigma 16mm. What you think ?

      First off great work on being a UA-camr! It’s hard work!
      Since UA-cam is hard work, the key 🔑 is to keep your camera 🎥 setup as simple and easy as possible!
      I like the smaller APS-C cameras for hand holding while vlogging!
      If you have the A6400 just keep it and get the Sigma 16mm 1.4 or the Rokinon 12mm 2.0 AF.

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  2 роки тому

      To be honest, if you are a novice choosing between these two won’t matter as much.
      The MAIN thing to focus on is learning how to compose (create, out together) a shot that’s interesting!
      With camera phones EVERYONE has the ability to take photos but not everyone has taken the time to understand composition, framing and exposure!
      With all that being said the A6400 will give you more overall but is harder to find at the moment.
      If you can’t find one, go with the Canon M50mkII!

      If you know you’re going to stick with this hobby long term and are going to want to learn, grow, experiment with different focal lengths, have the opportunity to own native lenses that are going to waouh you compared to your smartphone… don’t make the same mistake I made: stay away from the ef-m system, get the sony now and never look back.
      I was in your position 2 years ago-ish, and thinking that both were essentially the same and Canon seemed to be so much more beginner friendly… While I still really like my M6 ii (I upgraded down the line) and my pretty good travel friendly native ef-m lens line-up (11-22, 18-150, 22f2, and the sigma trio), only the sigma trio and the longer focal lengths of the 18-150 made me finally feel like I was getting very satisfying photos… although the 18-150 is quite soft and suffer from chromatic aberrations…
      I’ve now progressed to enjoying more wildlife and sport photography, so I researched longer zoom lenses… That’s when I realised I was in an dead-end. Canon is moving to the RF mount only, Ef-m is dead, no more development. Adapting old EF is clunky, impractical, and quality lenses are incredibly expensive; and EF is also now a dead mount.
      So here I am comparing the R10 with the RF100-400 and the highly highly rated Sony 70-350 with either the ZV-E10 or A6400. But this time I know better: it’s ALL about the lenses, bodies don’t matter as much. And sony has absolutely great apsc lenses. With the recent announcement that Canon won’t allow 3rd parties to develop cheaper yet good quality lenses for the RF mount, I pulled the trigger on the zv-e10 (£300 cheaper than the A6400 in the UK) + the 70-350 + and got a good deal on a 18-105 f4 to get me started (although my next lens is definitely the sigma 18-50 f2.8). Although I miss the evf for fast movements on the long end with the zve10, the shots I got are miles ahead of whatever I got with Canon ef-m. That 70-350 is an absolute keeper! The old 18-105 despite having average reviews is sharper than the ef-m 18-150. Sony sensor also has much better dynamic range, preserves details in both highlights and shadows better.
      I’m extremely happy I am making this transition to Sony. They’re not perfect: e.g. the app is nowhere near as good as Canon’s, the ergonomics of their bodies is not as good either… but you will be extremely happy with your results out of camera. And importantly, you can grow your skills because all the features are there and available once you dive deeper: especially for video. I’m more of a photographer but I’ve found myself enjoying taking little 120p slow motion shots as I’ve progressed… guess what Canon cripples this mode by removing the auto-focus. The file is baked in camera with no sound; so you can’t ramp it up or down in your video editor for example to show a basketball dunk… You can’t save video shooting modes with Canon ef-m, you can’t shoot in Aperture or SS priority modes in video either, 30min recording limit…
      Anyway, I’ve rambled on enough.. If you want the waouh factor for your shots because you can get affordable yet great quality glass (especially zooms) that you can keep as you grow your skills, get Sony rather than anything ef-m.

    Hi, I am a journalism student and want to get my hands on a new camera. I have some experience with handling cameras like the Canon 200D II (not mine) and want to get a budget cam for hybird shooting. I don't want to go with canon due to their lens restrictions and I'm confused if the ZV-e10 is good for me because its really affordable in my country. I don't use the EVF and don't know whether i should just get the a6100 due to the EVF which i can practice with for future.

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia

      Honestly there is no PERFECT camera. Watching reviews on UA-cam will KEEP you in a state of fear of buying the WRONG piece of gear.
      Get the camera you can afford the most and start going from there. Solving issues with your camera is the thing that will cause your skills to GROW! Having a superior came only helps A LITTLE when you know what you are doing!

      This is a great question! I actually posted a video on the subject of photography with the ZV E10.
      The title of the vide is Sony ZV E10 Photography | Is It Good?
      In my opinion if you are going to be doing A LOT of photography and if you are doing it professionally, then the ZV E10 will not be the BEST choice!
      It is FULLY capable of producing some AWESOME images, however the workflow is much different without an EVF!
      I hope this helps! :)

      Get your LCD Viewfinder 😂😂😂
      I'm enjoying my ZV E10
      For the manual button, you actually can even trigger to the filming by pressing Record button right away.
      I did wedding with it and BAM, all of my jobs are done perfectly.
      Remember, with the hella ZV E10, u can even film it handheld because u just need a quick shot at a specific part and stablize it in post with Catalyst Browser, but A6400 will be meh without gimbal....

    Hey, I have one question though,
    I am a complete beginner, never had a camera before, but I want to start my UA-cam channel. No, I'll not be taking commerical events, but I would want to shoot myself, take it on vacations, just create a video like yours, not even vlogging,
    So what camera and the lens should I be using??
    If it's ZV E10, I might use the extra cash in a good lens.
    So which camera?
    Btw, I loved your video man! Amazing tone, editing and shots. Calm and peaceful music and the stability of your voice. Godspeed!

      I would say go with the Sigma 16MM 1.4! It's a great all around lens and it's a wider lens so if you needed to crop in for any reason, you could without losing too much quality!

      Either one is fine.
      The BIGGER question for music videos is location, lighting , story blocking , camera movements and set design! These all play a MUCH bigger role than just the camera you are using!
      You can use a CELL PHONE if you get these things👆🏾right!
      Lastly, I would recommend connecting an external monitor to your camera, this way you can monitor your picture on a larger screen! This is KEY🔑 when shooting music videos!

    In a6000 series, there is very soft video in 1080p. Is there any this kind of issues in ZV-E10 ? Please let me know

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia  2 роки тому +1

      “Soft video” is subjective, some may see the 1080 from these cameras as soft, some may see it as pleasing. 🤷🏽‍♂️
      There are also many factors that affect the final output of 1080 from this camera.
      Lens choice, aperture, focus. This isn’t the BEST 1080 camera 🎥 available or even close to it.
      (Personally) I always shoot in 4K unless I’m doing sow motion! (Which isn’t often)!
      Lastly this is the same sensor that’s in the other Sony APS-C cameras. If those are an issue, the ZV E10 isn’t going to make you happy! 😊

      I unfortunately I don’t know enough about the Z30 to make a comparison. What I do know is that EVERY CAMERA is going to have its strengths and weaknesses.
      The key is to hone in on WHAT you will be filming and HOW you will be filming it. This will help you narrow down the camera that’s best for you.
      With that being said, the ZV E10 is a great all around camera! It can fill many different needs!

I want a camera to put to work to my band, social media, live gigs, videoclips an photos..maybe even to other production, advertising .. the 6400 sounds more pro focused, weather sealed an view finder.... Do you think the 6400 still makes sense or should I go for something else? Thanks

    Hi, I'm very indecisive between these two cameras. I‘d use it 50/50 for Photos and Videos.
    My only concern with the a6400 is its stabilization, as I'll use it for street interviews, and I'm worried about shaking even when the cameraman is standing fairly still. Otherwise it would be my choice of buying!
    If someone could help me out I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
