- Stanislaus National Forest is a fantastic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The road leading up to the park lined up with one of the most breath-taking sceneries that I've ever seen. The drive alone is worth it but if you keep going \you will find the campground where you can stay and enjoy the Utica/Union reservoirs with lots of nature all around you. The hikes will reward you with a beautiful view at the top of the mountains. Trust me, you do not want to skip this place.
Beautiful video
Have been on those trails many times. Haven't missed a summer on Union in over a decade! Great times.
It’s a great spot. Although we got lost in the forest in the middle of the night, so that was a lil scary but fantastic spot
Was thinking of stopping by in September. How hard is it to get a campground over there?
@@whatsupclimber Should be easy. Unless a fire gets going near there. Then it could be closed.
Stunning
Thank you. Much appreciated
Dope video! Am going there myself soon. Did you buy wood fire in a nearby town or did you DIY with what was around the campsite?
Hi, I know there are some areas you’re not allowed to make campfires, the place that we were had an area that was already being used for a campfire (surrounded by rocks) so it was safe. We foraged for wood around and there was plenty but the wood that we found was super Smokey.
Hows the dirt road there? Is it well maintained? Would a rav4 awd be fine?
It’s dirt roads with a few minor drops but not bad at all. I saw Prius make it. As long as you go slow, you’re gonna be fine
Where is that specifically. We're going to kennedy meadows this weekend but I'm sure I won't find a spot so my plan is going up to chipmunk fat( which I've never been to) I'm curious to know where the video was taken.
The video started at the base of Union reservoir. The first day we hiked down to Utica reservoir following the trail. The second day, we went off-road until we reached the top of the mountain. We wanted to see how the reservoir looked from above. I hope your trip went well and you had lots of fun
@@theadventureco-op oh my goodness, we had an amazing trip aside from the smoke that started on Saturday afternoon. We went up to chipmunk flat* and it is AMAZING. I loved it. We did find a spot at Kennedy meadows but next time we will definitely camp above on the 9k ft level. I was mesmerized with all the open spaces. Take care.
Did you go in July 2020? We want to go canoe camping in October 2020 but can't find info on lake levels
Hi, yes we did. We camped there for a few days. I would suggest to check out the US forest service page. Due to the fires it is currently closed but you can call the rangers to find more info
Thanks , I did that but they keep extending some restrictions although the low fire area is open
