It was a beautiful June weekend in 1984, when my boyfriend took me to the Awanhee hotel for dinner. Afterward, in the shadow of Half Dome, he knelt down and said, "Will you marry me, and I said yes. We had 32 wonderful years together, and this is my favorite memory of this overwhelming and beautiful place.
I went here with my class in high school, some of my class climbed half dome. I regret not doing it now, but we got to do another hike instead that was amazing as well. I believe it was the mist trail with the granite stairs.
If you are up to it I would thoroughly recommend the hike up from the Yosemite Valley to Tuolumne Meadows. It takes a few days, but you will remember them for the rest of your life. I've done it twice.
I was born in the Park in '58. All seasons reveal unique aspects so I recommend visiting, if possible, all 4 seasons. This video was a nostalgic visit to my hometown🎉
Wow! So far the most comprehensive video of Yosemite with stunning views. We will be there next week (June 4-6), may not be able to see a lot of things up close because of the flooding.
2 quick easy things missing are Fern Spring(right at the South Rd) below Inspiration Point, and Bridalveil Falls. An easy 1/4 mile hike to get wet at the bottom of the falls. Also stop at the Ahwahnee Hotel(whatever it's called now), to walk around a Grand old hotel. Have a expensive, but not ridiculous, white-tablecloth treat for the wife/girlfriend.
If it wasnt on the other side of the world for me, I'd visit it tomorrow. What beauty! This park is probably no 1 for me to visit when I visit the USA.
The last time I was at this National Park was 2006. I mean it was amazing and beautiful at the same time. Some of the things I love in this park was Half Dome and Yosemite Falls. I wish I could go back to this park again but out of safety and crime concerns in California, I rather not.
I’m trying to decide where to go next - Rocky Mountain National Park or Yosemite. Any thoughts? I’ve been to Yellowstone and Smoky Mountains and loved them both.
I visited last week and was turned away at the gate / toll booth as there had been a landslide. I was told it would not be open again until late July or August.
Open, but flooding on roads due to melting snow. Could close without notification for safety on 26 miles of Valley Roads. Call Cal Trans before venturing on 140, 120 or Hwy 41.!!!!
This video doesn't focus on the current situation in Yosemite though. Most people know these places already but what's new while going here in Summer 2023?
Never go alone anywhere, more people go missing here than anywhere in America ask the rangers and watch them stutter an lie.Beautiful but very dangerous
@@Tornadospeed10he might be exaggerating when he says “ANYWHERE” in America but he’s actually right that if you go alone (specifically off the beaten path) it can be dangerous. The thing is, SO many people visit here that some people are bound to engage in riskier behavior basically, and just more of a chance to come across dangerous things. Usually it’s cause of wild animals to be clear, I’m not claiming there’s serial killers hiding out there (although I GUESS you never know?)
Incredible ! ...there's nothing infrastructure for kids, old person and family ...for example...thing to play, foods, transportation even bathroom is not enough and durty... comfortable not at all

Highway 120 from Oakdale is closed until June 10th. And of course Tioga Pass....closed.

Planning my trip, and this is the only video needed, thank you

And add the Grand canyon to your list. It is breathtaking. Took my Aussie friend to both. The looks on her face were utter amazement.
I recommend the Black Hills of South Dakota and Mount Rushmore
Nice video with good information. We just got back from Yosemite ourselves and had a great time.

Great video! My favorite place. But I never got to see Glacier Point.
Thank you 😊
And I’ll on the road heading to The Yosemite park tomorrow from Reno Nevada.
this background track is banging. Also Im gonna go see this.
This is just a paradise.
Beautiful national park. Stay in the visitor areas. If you veer off the walking trail and get lost the bears and wolves will get you.
Wonderfull regards from Brasil. 🇧🇷
Beautiful

Thanks for the video! I'll be there in just under a month. This was really helpful
Wanted to visit here by December
My uncle works for the Sierra club, so he hikes this all the time.

What month is the best to go with family?

Does anyone know if we need reservations to go into the park and let alone if the park is even open to go in??
Open, but flooding on roads due to melting snow.
Could close without notification for safety on 26 miles of Valley Roads.
Call Cal Trans before venturing on 140, 120 or Hwy 41.!!!!
It’s open. And no reservations needed for entry. Nor for camping in the valley.
