I'd love to get my hands on one of those for a big Cub! That's a sweet sounding engine!

Thank you, agreed with you ! The only thing, regarding the sound, due to the fact, that this engine has a firing stroke every revolution (360°), so it's sounding tone is twice higher, instead of the single cylinder engine, where firing stroke comes at every 720° crankshaft revolution.

Thank you for your comment ! Definitely, yes, Sir, agree with you ! From terms of engine design, its shape and general shape is very similar to the Continental O-200 engine, developed and produced by Teledyne Continental Motors (TCM). The only difference is 2 opposite cylinders instead of 4 from original. Even the shape of cooling fins is very similar.
      You can judge by yourself:

Also, lets look on to engine's head and valve construction. I've some experience with rebuilding of OS FT 120 and FF 240, at this part it is very similar design.

a great engine! But you didn't do the best thing you can do with the engine, just start the engine by hand, it starts wonderfully😁

Sim, senhor, concordo plenamente com você, um motor maravilhoso. O carburador é original, muito simples, tipo "air bleed"
Obrigado pelo seu comentário e tenha um bom dia!

That is a good running engine. Does it have a serial number on the back plate. I have an FT-300 with the serial number 0142, do you know what year the FT-300 was released.

Hello, and thank you for your comment ! Yes, my OS FT 120 Gemini has a serial Nr. on the back side , unfortunately, I can't read it now, because engine is still installed on the bench mount. Regarding your question about the FT 300 production year, yes, I know, it was 1986 and this year was the most successful year for O.S.Engines Mfg,.
In1986 few the most iconic engines were released: OS FF 240 "Pegasus", OS FT 300 "Super Gemini", and their first radial, OS FR5-300 "Sirius".
It is very interesting that all the names of these engines refer to the stars, and the constellations, to the cosmos.

Nice video and great engine. Like it so much. Do you use the glow plug power support while it runs? Thanks.

Hello and thank you for your comment ! During first few runs glow batteries were connected, that was easier to make an adjustments and to understand engine's behavior. During qualification run batteries were unplugged. W/o glow support engine low rpm's are floating. I think, that engine needs more break-in time, at list, few hours more.

Does it have separate low speed needles or just one for both!

Hello, and thank you for your question ! This engine using two-needle OS type 2B carb. It is one of the earliest engine version, as far as know.
