How to pull the motor out of your BMW E34 525i. M50 removal DIY

Had to strip down a parts car, so figured I would film the steps to get the m50 out of a 1992-1995 bmw e34 525i. Most of the process applies to e36s, and most inline 6 bmws in general. I take you through every step along the way of getting it out. Hopefully this can help someone that needs to replace their m50, or do engine work. Thanks man! For a 535 e34, a lot of the process remains, obviously manifolds, harnesses, etc are a little different, but the general process is the same!

Helpful video. I don’t plan on taking the trans out though, just the engine. And I want to leave everything on the front because that looks like it would be horrible if you were to put it back together. Not messing with AC.

Make sure to remove all the screws under visors and handles, also A and C pillars I think. Pry carfully around sunroof and pull out door seals, have front seats completely flat

I have a e34 auto harness can u give me the Color’s of what wires go where bought a in labeled harness and am having trouble with install as I have know clue what goes where. I just need the wire Color’s for the connectors and where they go

Unfortunately I have no harnesses out to help you with that. I dont use colors though. if you lay it in there most connectors will only reach where they belong.
