I can do this myself! Single, senior and disabled. Thank you.
YES YOU CAN!!! Thanks for watching and happy building.
It’s as if you read my mind for future dream projects… now this dream can come to life a ton easier!!! Love your work and thank you for continuing to share. 🙏
Thank you!
You're the literal best! Been following you since the early years and love how you've kept your site FREE to others. What a gift and true show of character. ❤
Thank you, I appreciate your support over the years!
This amazing it wasn't a paid for tool!
Such a cool tool! Definitely going to use it! I would be happy to see affiliate links to the supplies like casters for making it mobile or the suggested screws. Also, not that people can't measure their own, but it might be neat to see the "standard" size options for each of at least the 27 gallon totes ready to select, I know they vary between the major outlets but grabbing the primary measurements from the main outlets wouldn't seem too difficult, although adding to the configurator might be the effort here.
Thanks again!
Thank you for your feedback!!!
Wow, your timing is perfect for us. We bought supplies but didn't have it planned out yet. Thank you so much Anna!
YAY! I'd love to see when you get it done.
Same here! Have the supplies but needed a plan! This one seems pretty straight forward!
Ana, bless you my friend for all you do. I love your channel and the projects you present. Absolutely excellent videos.
I was forcefully retired about 3 years ago at age 73 and you have inspired my life. This will be my new project starting tomorrow. If this comes out as well as i suspect, i will be building more to organize my garage space. I am excited to begin this in the morning.
Thank you for your kind words, I'm so glad you're finding the channel helpful!
used your tool earlier today and got a set built already. it definitely made it much easier to tackle and motivated me to get it done finally. thank you.
Thank you so much for using the tool and taking time to let us know!! Please send us some photos!
Wow Ana, I can’t thank you enough for all you do for us. We learn, get our minds of our worries, actually think we can achieve building things regardless of our previous knowledge…or lack of.
The step by step, the plans, everything, makes it so much more doable. Thank you again.
Thank you, I appreciate your support and I am happy to help!
Absolutely beautiful, and the calculator isn't bad either ! 😊
Thanks for the visit!
Wowed … totally…. I just saw one of these at Costco and thought what a great idea, but it was expensive. My grandson is getting ready to move his family into their first home and this would be fantastic for organizing the garage. You’re a super Star ! 🌟💫🌟💫🌟💫🌟
This would be perfect, thank you!!!
Ana you are a national treasure! What an awesome tool! So cool!
I appreciate you!
WOW!!! I've been drawing this tote storage for what sems like forever! Keep redrawing it, Not trusting my numbers. With this, I'll begin to build now. thank you so much for this and all your tutorials.
Thank you! I was running into the same issue, so glad this helps us both!
This would be great in my she shed or even in a walk-in closet!
Thank you, Ana White!
YES!
❤ Thank you. You inspire the creative. 😊
Thank you!
this is fantastic! i might do this build in my garage. cheers!
Fantastic, please let me know how it goes!
Thank you so much for teaching us to build and for sharing your configurator with us. You are such a good teacher.
Ana, you are so talented and so intelligent that you could have spent your time creating a very lucrative business but you chose motherhood, which is a full time job if done well. I admire you.
I really appreciate that, I am very fortunate to be able to do what I love and still be there for my children.
Awesome tool! Thank you for creating and offering!
I'm happy to help!
Love the stuff you do please please keep them coming. 😊
I appreciate your support!
We’ve needed one of these forever! This site is what motivated me to start saving our inbound shaft shipping crates. Plenty of free 2x and 1x lumber we used to give away or burn!
Thank you so much, I'd love to see it if you build!
Brilliant! I used Ana’s configurator to build my not standard floating guest bathroom vanity.
That's wonderful, I'd love to see a photo if you'd like to share!
So awesome!! Thanks for taking the time to make this.
My pleasure!
Now that's super handy! Thanks!
Glad you like it!
The configurator sounds so awesome!
Thank you, I hope you check it out!
So great! Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for all you do. You have helped me so much. I love crafting and building things fixing things etc. I was so afraid to even try. I watched your channel and learned so much in ways I could understand thank you!!
Thank you, I'm so happy to hear that!
Thank you Ana!😃
Thanks for watching Tim!
I love it. Thank you
Great, thank you!
Thank you!!!
Thanks for the visit!
Very cool! Thanks.
Glad you like it!
Thank you for this awesome calculator. I will be using it this weekend.
Excellent, please let me know how it goes!
You rock!!!!
Thanks for your support!
@ a question… if I have tubs of a different size, not random sizes, but 30 of the same size, can I punch in that tub size to get the lumber take off for my tubs?
And keep up the great work!!
I am SO glad you have posted this video! Thank you! I have a tiny house and want to make these into a bed platform because in a tiny house, EVERYTHING has to have storage capabilities! Your plans for this are an answer to prayer for me!
I would love to see that!
so cool!
Thanks for watching!
I love this. I am definitely going to use this. I do have an odd selection of totes. This will give me a great excuse to reorganize. Get new totes and get things looking better.
That’s great, I'd love to see what you come up with!
I've got to give that a try. I have 6 totes (the grey ones) and no really good storage solution, I think I'll do the 2x3 arrangement exactly what you did. It's great that you allow us to use this for free!
Awesome, I'd love to see it with different totes!
@@AnaWhiteDIY These are the BRUTE totes, I think Rubbermaid makes them? Anyway, Costco was selling these a long time ago. I have them stacked on my backyard patio area and that's not where they should be. You solved the problem of how to stack the totes while allowing easy access to them and also using minimal materials doing so. Thanks so much again!
Ana, you are too cool!
Thanks for your kindess!
Wow! So kind and generous of you to share this! Thank you! 🤗
Thank you!
Nice job
Thanks!
How very practical. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
WOW❗ Thanks again, Ana, for another very handy design and to make it available to all. The "configurator" is fantastic❗
Thanks, I'm happy you like it!
Very cool, and thanks for the planner!
My pleasure!
Oh im definitely got to use this tool. Did a quick verification on this and its dead on. Im SOLD 🎉❤
Also subscribed for your free plans. You Rock
Thanks for checking it out, welcome!!!
this is one very cool tool - thank you!
Glad you like it!
WOW~!! This is a fantastic resource that you've provided to your users~! I've just recently been watching several UA-camrs and their plans/designs for this type of storage solution. This "configurator" is perfect and I thank you so much for sharing it with us. I've built several items from the plans on your website and I receive great feedback. I can't wait to get started on this one~!
Great! I can't wait to see what you build!
Hey Ana. Crafty program. Beatcha to the tote shelf. Built one last year. Works great. I'd recommend viewers for sure getting the see thru totes. At our age, oops......my age (I'm older than you) I tend to forget which tote I put what into and it's a quick look thru without opening the tote to see what's in it.
Thanks!
I like your design tool thank you. I've built 5 of these so far I've built 2 for my self and then family and friends saw it and wanted one. The only thing I did different was:
1. Used 2X2's for the runners. and 2x4's for everything else. The runners don't need the bigger wood and it makes it lighter. I also have a table saw so I could split the 2x4's and save a little on cost.
2. I put 6 locking casters under it so I could move it.
3. Like you stated I put a sheet of 1/2 inch plywood across the top for a shelf and a piece of 2 foot wide plywood across the entire back for stability.
Thanks for sharing your modifications, I really appreciate it!
I’m going to have to play around with your configurator. I am in the process of designing a project similar to this, except that I am using totes of different sizes. The footprint is the same, but some are deeper and some are shallower. This will allow me to better customize my storage options based on what is stored in them. I will also install casters and put a piece of plywood on the top so that they can also act as mobile workbenches/infeed-outfeed tables, etc.
That is a very clever idea, I would love to see the finished project!
@ I’ll try to tag you when I get the project and video done :)
AMAZING!
Thank you!
Very cool!
Glad you like it, thanks!
Thank you
Thanks for the visit!
Awesome resource. I unfortunately completed my project a few days ago. It would have been nice to use your configurator. I did use 2x2's instead of 2x4's for the slide supports and pre-drilled them to keep them from splitting. I also cut the front facing sides of the 2x2's at 45 degrees to ease entry of the totes. I think I may make another one, for a smaller area of my garage and will use the configurator as I will probably use smaller totes.
That's great! I hope you enjoy the tool.
Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!
This is looks like a fantastic tool to use! I have not checked it out yet, but am to build a couple of these tote racks this spring. Thank you for providing this for free. I know it took a lot effort to develop it. Question: does the configurator also allow one to build a 2-deep tote racks?
We haven't tested a double depth but don't see why you couldn't just measure two totes depth wise and input that into the calculator. You may need to add a third leg in the middle, but it should work! Here is a video to help inspire ua-cam.com/video/BTyEtTFbe34/v-deo.htmlsi=diKMKXshtnpSLVJV
@ thank you. I was just wondering because, when you mentioned an option for adding a plywood top, I thought that having 2 deep would make a wider working surface.
Btw, thank you for replying. As a beginner your comments and advice are much appreciated. 😊
Hi Ana. Great demonstration & a brilliant free tool. However, it would be really great if the configurator was also available in metric & with wood sizes that we could enter manually. Thank you.
Yes, thank you for the feedback!
Another great tool Ana!! Should the total 2x4s needed be listed in linear feet rather than board feet?
Thank you! I could change to linear feet if that made more sense?
@@AnaWhiteDIY Well one 8 foot 2x4 (1.5x3.5x96") is 3.5 board feet. Not sure a volume measurement is needed for this project but 128 linear feet is just over 10 8' 2x4s
Can the calculator do it in Metric?
At this time, it is in inches format. We've had a lot of interest in metric so I am investigating how to add that option
I suppose if you swap the depth and the width of the crate, you can make it wide instead in case you have to put the crates low long way. Keeping in mind you'd probably only want it stacked two or three high otherwise it could tip forward.
That's a great tip!
Great work! Is it available in metric please?
Thank you! We've had alot of interest in metric, I will investigate!
Does the calculation also work for anyone outside the US? The world is metric - except the US. So all of us measure in centimetres, not inches. And we also cannot buy any "two-by-fours", since millimetres are used in this case.
If it can use metric you can always convert the measurement with your cell phone calculator. Most have a convertor of all types of things like lenghts etx.
I'd write down the US measurements and look up a calculator online to convert from inches to whatever unit of measure is used in any given country.
I use that method for calculating/determining length or volume quite frequently.
Can you help me understand what dimensions of board you would use instead of a 2x4? It is possible for me to make a metric version, but so much depends on what materials we'd be using.
@@AnaWhiteDIY 6cm x 10cm or 8cm x 10cm would be available (Europe)
It’s great you made this so easy. Thx!
Thanks for the tote rack configurator. Could design a companion configurator for small parts cases. ie Harbor Freight Store House Storage Cases, Stanley Professional Organizer, or Sortimo T-BOXX.
Can you add casters to this? If so, does there need to be any changes?
Yes casters would be fine. You may need middle casters for heavy loads if you go multiple columns wide
Do you have the version that makes these a Work Table?
Not specifically, but it's the same concept, I would just add casters and a top to get the height you want. :) You could also figure in longer legs to reach the desired height.
hi anna much appreciated but any way you can have your calculator use metric?
Thanks for your feedback, I'm looking into it!
Where do you get your wood? All of the wood that I find you have to go through a lot of boards just to find one decent board. I'm in the northeast quadrant of the US
We are in a rural town in Alaska, so we use our local lumber store and local sawmills.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the visit!
can you set it to metric
At this time, it is in decimal format, using inches. I could create a metric version, but need to understand what would be a comparable board to a 2x4 in outside the US?
❤
Thanks for the visit!
So the bins actually hang by the lids? Has anyone had any trouble with the lids coming off if the bin is very heavy? This looks like a very handy plan if that is not a problem.
They hang by the lip of the tote.
The lid sits on a lip of the actual bin, so it's hanging from that overhang of the lip, not the lid.
@@AnaWhiteDIY Oh that makes more sense. Can't wait to get started on mine!
