my computer randomly shut down one day and only started booting into bios. this 6 year old youtube video just solved my problem in 2024. crazy shit man. thank you.
For all the people who cannot find this setting: You are probably trying to boot from a disk that is MBR and not GPT. Search for a setting that changes UEFI to CSM. CSM supports MBR disks. Or it could be mentioned as UEFI + Legacy. Edit: It’s been 2+ years since I uploaded this comment and I'm happy to see that it has helped lots of people. However, there are still some that are confused so I will clarify further. Go to 0:41 and you will see the setting that you need to change: "Boot Mode Select". In older M/Bs (like the one in this video) the options were "UEFI" and "UEFI + Legacy" while newer boards have the options of "UEFI" and "CSM". Just change it to "CSM" or "UEFI + Legacy" and the system will read your disk.
Anyone that don't have BBS Priorities option, try this solution it worked for me first go to Settings\Advanced\Windows OS Configuration\BIOS UEFI/CSM Mode = [CSM] change it to CSM mode and then go back to the boot options and change the first one in boot order to "Hard Disk" not "UEFI Hard Disk" then save and reboot Hope that helps
I did this and now I'm stuck on a screen that says reboot and select proper boot device. And I can't figure out how to get back into bios and change it back
Ei bro, your tutorial worked perfectly, just subscribed bc u saved my work on the pc (and mainly my incomes) you de serve a statue bc there Aren t solution online except for this video
If this didn’t work for u do what he did but if the option to open the thing didn’t pop up search up uefi and turn the uefi thing to csm and keep switching until it boots and if it doesn’t boot check boot option 1 to something else then to hard disk and do the uefi to csm thing again
If anyone is still having this issue, even on newer boards, what worked for me was only plugging in my SSD with windows into my pc into SATA 1 (my other two SSDs weren’t plugged in), after this launching pc into BIOS, switching from UEFI to CSM and selecting hard drive to boot, close and save and I booted windows fine, after booting you can then connect your other HDDs/SSDs and it will continue to boot off the windows one, I hope this can help someone !!
Hey guys so i had this problem and i found a solution. Turns out this happens because your windows curropted thats why it boots you to bios. And to fix that u need to install windows through a usb flash drive. And then it should work.
*only if not able to get out of bios no windows* Might not work for all but go to settings in bios then click BOOT after that click the only one thing that stands out it's usually under the boot order #1 -#7 or what ever just scroll down most case it usually says a whole sentence of whatever based on your board .. it stands out .. Just trust me it's there it's always at the bottom on msi boards. Anyway Then click that one it looks like a non clickable on some builds like it's just a line saying words of garbage click that I can't stress this more most people can't find this part it's there just look ... Any way once in click the disabled button then go back to the previous screen usually escape.. if it says save? say yes always yes during this .. then go back to the order screen the one before this screen click the first highest up one usually #1 click it then select your hard drive you have windows installed on. If you don't know it's fine pick the one your sure of most and if it doesn't work just go back here and select the next one and so on. But trust me it should be obvious do not select anything saying usb unless you have a hard drive sitting on your lap. Pick a actual hard drive or ssd , m.2 whatever it is . It usually says a name brand but never anything that says realtec or usb ! Unless you have a hard drive outside your computer 99 percent don't so don't even think about usb or real tech just find your drive Save and reboot and That's about it easy. Just make sure to hit yes save changes .....once again this is if you can not get to windows stuck in bios loop no Access to windows
