He is very particular that’s why he orders most of his acoustic guitars from Linda Manzer near Toronto. They very, very rarely ever come up on the resale market. Linda’s customers will fly in from all over the world when ordering a guitar.
I am attracted to this guitar. I wanted to her it because it's like Barney's. I really enjoyed your unplugged demo, too. great playing. You really put the guitar through the paces. Thanks for the nice demo and review.
Beautiful guitar and sound can okay blues in that and Charlie Christian gypsy jazz on it T bine walker it’s that puck is so versatile old dirty sound to big box sound
you are right, I bought an EH a week ago for this Ibanez guitar and it works great. I love your playing with Dizzy G. Good luck and health from the Czech Republic Alexandr K.
I feel the debugger hurts the guitar sound too much.. i know Pat uses it too.. is there a way around it degrading the guitar sound that i don’t know about…?
I am sure Charlie Christian would have opted for noiseless pickups if they were available.Maybe replace the pickup with a fender telecaster noiseless single coil in some units
Gibson went with the humbucker and p90 for a reason. Most players of the era rejected this blade pickup however each to their own. Personally I found the Charlie Christian pickup a bit thin and dull. Barney Kessel was a fine player but again personally I wasn’t a fan of his sound.
Cool that you followed up on previous video commenter's request. While nice to have the acoustic tone as a reference, frankly a laminate top archtop is never going to sound all that great -- really need to go for a Gibson "L" series with carved top, preferably without a fixed PUP to get more old style archtop acoustic tone. But perhaps a bit surprising it comes with flat wounds as to the best of my knowledge Charlie Christian was playing with round wounds, right?

Excellent review. Finally someone who shows a guitar with a truly clean sound. Thank you for that.

I have a couple of guitars with those pickups and in some instances I will use a electro harmonix ‘hum debugger’ to eliminate that buzz..

Very nice acoustic tone. Bright but sweet.

It has more clearity than Humbuckers. But less sustain.Barney Kessel did like this CK pickup. He has a very nice sound too.

Good always have the pick re wind to beef it up to just a thought

4:00 Wow. That's impressively musical.
Poor Daniel Slaman ibanez and Pat stole his idea of this guitar model
Well Slaman stole it from Gibson! In fact Gibson have taken action against him for copying their designs.
But is Gibson still retaining the heritage by including a CC Model in 2024?
Heritage honoured that aim with other styles.
