I am totally in love with my S2A! Such a beautiful camera and it has never taken a bad photo. I have, but not the camera. Love getting the chance to take her out for a walk. It also makes me feel like a "real" photographer. I have published a photo I've taken with her. Due to the copious amounts of shiny stuff, I've named mine Savoy. Like, 57 Plymouth Savoy. Great video, thanks.
Never had issues with vignetting on any of the lenses. My hunch is that it's that hood you're using. Try without. For those who don't like 6x6: there are 6x4.5 film backs for the S2/S2a, I got one, works great. The default ground glass has the frame lines for that included.
Absolutely love my S2a, it does have its quirks because of its age and being all mechanical but at least that guarantees you won't be in a bind with batteries ever! I do recommend redoing the focusing screen seals on these cameras which makes them prone to miss focus but I got mine done in less than 30 minutes. Also regarding the strap, just search for the mounting tabs for the camera strap and use Peak design lugs with one of their camera straps, which is what I do and it's more flexible than some 40 year old strap.
I know it doesn't say on the shutter diel but you can set halfway between each shutter speeds for half stops. Amazing don't you think for a mechanical camera!
Great run through! I just got one and ran my first roll through this week. I'm a big fan of the 6x6 format myself and can't wait to see my developed film!
Hi, Thank You for making this video!! It is really hard to come by. Can you demonstrate how to remove & attach the camera strap? I can't seem to find any instructions & want to detach from the old camera body. Thanks in advance!!!
Nice review. I do really like the design of the camera, definitely got some class to it. I actually wanted to go square, and was looking for an SQ when I came across a crazy good deal on the ETRSi, so ended up going 645.
I recall repeatedly following Bronicas for sale on eBay 20 or so years ago. Boy, do I ever wish I'd spring for one back then, when I could have had one a LOT cheaper. Ever adjusting for inflation.
Hi mate - on the how back is connected with the body. If you read the manual for the camera - it states that since you connected back to the body - you have to remove the slid. Slid is only used to take back off.
Hi, i got one today but it came without the dark slide. Does this affect the photographs in any way or does it only prevent light filtering in case of changing the back?
Congrats on the new camera! I would hunt down a darkslide as I think after you load the film you need to advance it to its first frame independent of the body. I think if you did this step without it you will be more susceptible to lightleaks.
It works for me for the most part, but I wish I had some type of split-focusing screen. I use the magnifier on almost every shot and it does the trick, but maybe I just want to be a little more lazy lol.
You know the camera systems was made to make photos copied on analog enlargers which had a negative vinjeting compensating for the vinjeting on the camera lens, making the vinjeting not a problem, more like a nesseserity. I find the Nikor 75mm my favorite lens on my Bronica s2a
Lucky, i got one from ebay that apparently just got CLA’d, and within a week, the shutter jammed on bulb, I sent it back and got an sq-a. But gosh I miss holding my s2a, such a beautiful camera.
Leave Instagram to smartphone photography, 6x6 format is for beautiful big prints (Either enlarged or scanned) hanging on your living room making your guests jelous :D
As for your vignetting. I've had zero vignetting and I shoot the same lens sometimes...Take a look at that hood you have on ;) AFAIK, the hoods for that lens in particular is supposed to be a little bit shorter.

Under rated camera. I have a S2 that I'm going to be filming a review for soon, love this setup. Very affordable and insane lenses.
I found your video because I just got a Bronica EC, and I really appreciate it! It made me excited to get to work with it!

Excellent camera. I have the S2 and used to have an S2A. Both are equally good. Easy to work on and with care will last.

Good video man! I've always wanted to try one of those. I might have to pick one up.

Thanks! Nothing like getting that first roll back!

Isn't there a tab you could buy for that aperture ring?

Thanks! Ah thats cool, those seem pretty good!

Great video dude! I recently had bad luck with a Pentacon Six and I’m looking for another 6x6 option. This seems like a nice way to go
Thanks a lot! It's a great option!
I am also looking at one of these for days when I want to shoot MF but can't carry my heavy RB67. Which do you shoot more of the two?
I think I shoot the Bronica more often.
The vignetting is the rubber lens hood, guarantee it. LarryMac
At f8 ? 😮

Thank you!
do you have problems with the focusing system?

@@CLOCKCOUNTRY Hit up rick olsson, he made my ground glass with a split prism for 75 bucks or so.

Good to know, thanks!
is it a good lens for portraits?
Lucky, i got one from ebay that apparently just got CLA’d, and within a week, the shutter jammed on bulb, I sent it back and got an sq-a. But gosh I miss holding my s2a, such a beautiful camera.
Ah man thats a shame, how do you like the sq-a?
@@CLOCKCOUNTRY so far so good, I think that for my type of photography it’s a pretty good upgrade because of the leaf shutter.
6x6 is perfect for instagram :P

6 x 6 club here! 😀
love it!
People complaining about 6x6 on this camera makes me laugh....There are 6x4.5 backs you know ;)

Thanks for the info, I'll have to take it off and shoot around a little bit.
for me, 6x6 cameras that are worth it are TLRs and hassys!! I don't really like Bronica cameras anyway!!
Yeah, I'd love to get a 500cm someday but all I got now is Bronica money lol.
@@CLOCKCOUNTRY don't get me wrong!! I don't own a hassy!! I have a Yashica mat 124g!! I also don't have hassy money!! I just know what I like!! lol
@@spyratekodaks7494 Not at all! I'm the same way, I know what I like. I'd like to try out one of those Yashicas some time, people seem to like em!
@@CLOCKCOUNTRY yeah man!! For me Yashica tlrs are the poor man's rolleiflex!! The glass is nice and the build quality is quite durable!!
@@spyratekodaks7494 lol tool.
$400, LOL, actually more than $500...
