Marvelous performance! I've heard so many poor performances of this incredible work, so it is a real pleasure to finally hear one worthy of the piece! The use of the baroque wooden flute (sans vibrato!) is especially refreshing, and--above anything else--lends the piece its serene, haunting, floating-on-a-cloud-of-air, and almost bone-chilling emotion. Thanks for uploading!
Great string writing here. Both Benda and Quantz, it seemed, shared a solidarity of soul when it came to concerto composition. Exciting art! Frederick the Great really knew his stuff.
Saludos.
Recently discovered this piece..Eastend London bloke...what divine music...Room for Bach and Mozart who apparently had his difficulties with the flute...but the third movement !
It’s interesting how similar Leopold Hofmann’s Flute Concerto in E Minor Badley II, e1 (mov iii) is with Benda’s concerto (mov i) in terms a thematic content.
Uno dei concerti più belli in assoluto mai ascoltati.........

el estilo de este concierto no es "barroco checo" es el estilo en boga en la corte de Federico II
immaculately fabulous and utterly beautiful :o)
Maginifique !!!
yes I also discovered Benda recently through a friend-he is superb
Excellent baroque d’Europe centrale. Trop peu connu à mon avis. À redécouvrir avec Stamitz, Wagenseil et d'autres...

Brilliant
Absolutely magnificent but the establishment chooses to ignore us!!
So true, their styles are so similar.
Nice visuals.
Indeed!!
@alconcerto It's a pleasure. Regards.
I'm learning this piece and I realized that this recording is not in E, rather Eb
❤
Who is the artist with the painting of 3:30?????? Please, let me know!!!
Paintings by Odilon Rendon.
Redon
desearía esa partitura!
I would think this were written by CPE Bach, just hearing the string part.
CPE might very well have played harpsichord at the premiere.
There is something to the piercing metallic brightness that's always turned me off to the silver Boehm flute, too.
Beautiful! And now listen to Pahud's performance, ugly!
Please send me this SHEET!!
