I was looking up the actors who played the three storms in Big Trouble in Little China. Carter Wong seems to be the only actor amongst them who has extensive martial arts film experience. I recognized his stance which I call "centering" as a pause to focus within a fight at 50.23. He does this same stance in Big Trouble in Little China. One of my favorite films and it was a great throwback towards his earlier films. I'm so glad John Carpenter brought him in to do justice to the genre. Thanks for posting this great film! THUNDER!
I recognized him instantly.. glad someone else noticed.

Just when i got tired of modern martial art movies like ip man, john wick ect this old school revived my love for this genre again
1
You're right. Wing Chun is very image consuming. Yep Man movies are excessively deifying Chinese martial arts. Even if it's possible because it's a movie, it comes out too often and too many movies come out, so it's exhausting
Modern kungfu movies are too serious, I can't watch unless it's campy and absurd.
The effort is greater than the push,,,
I was looking for this movie since i was a child. I saw it in the 80s and was obsessed with seeing it again. Thank you so much.

i've been watching these vintage movies since 2006 and i still find some i have not seen but it's becoming rare, i'd estimate having watching 600 vintage movies. But this one is one of the top 20 most famous, if you haven't seen that one you probably have a lot of good ones to go through.
Look for Broken Oath that one is also awesome but not as well known
@@deathmedicaldave4823 thanks i'll check it out. Angela Mao is not bad but the top female kung fu fighter was Lilly Li. Big difference, i also find her more beautiful and she was good enough to beat good men fighters and look good doing it. Angela Mao is ok you forgive her passable fighting skills (though still much better than the likes of Loh Lieh who had zero fighting background) because she is a woman and there are few in the genre.
Carter Wong play this part really well.he is one of the best kung fu guys out there snd he is one of my favorite too.

@antman8060 Yeah nothing beats a good kung fu flick! Have you seen King Boxer? Alot more serious but wow! That's a bloody classic too!
Aside from the old-school awesomeness, the fight choreography and acrobatics are still up to par with the best of what today's martial arts movies have to offer!

Carter wong was always bulit to play villains. 😎🔥🔥 I grabbed this one at a fleamarket in Pickering,Ontario when i was about 11. sadly is closed down now since Covid, but this is one of my favs. used to drop this almost every Sunday in the VHS. damn i miss the early 2000's. 😎😩😂😂
A movie as awesome as its name.. love movies with the white haired bad guys.. just like invincible armor
My dad took me to see this in the movies when I was 3 years old. All I remembered was dude was invincible until he laughed. Wow, thanks for posting!
Love the "laughing villain" in this. It winds up being his undoing. One of the wackier Kung Fu Cinema flicks.
"I'm gonna try to do my best!" (l.o.l.)
Holy crap, that first 2v1 fight scene was incredible! The movie stays great throughout but that fight has got to be in my top 10! Visually dynamic and lots of creativity with the movement 🤯
The guys with the little girl hair 😂

My dad used to rent this one for me from the videostore so many times! I vividly recall seeing both Born Invincible and The Rebel of Shaolin over and over when i was little haha, to this day this film is still my favorite kung fu flick of all time! Thanks for uploading this masterpiece!
Maurice S, thank you for sharing your memories. Awesome!
That's one tough villain, but the fact that he has a high pitched voice makes him more interesting to watch, everything is so well developed, except your voice and of course your vocal chords brought you to your demise. Props to the old white hair lady, she knew what to do when people were being destroyed like flies. This movies goes to show that the biggest opponent can be wept away by the most little things.
Disarm your opponent by making them believe your weak then strike!!!

It’s hilarious. I suppose they were faced with a hilariously impossible dilemma: Beat an invincible bad guy.
I see why the Wu and others gravitate to these movies: they are good lessons on Man and the human spirit and untapped power. The characters are allegorical representations of what u will encounter in life...good, evil, honor, pride, strength, weakness, etc.
Excellent assessment. And the very heart of why these films will never "go out of style." Nothing better than a good morality play, except a morality play done with full-speed Kung Fu fighting!
Amen 2 DAT..
Right Khamadi, the limits of man an angels despite training endlessly since conception for man, since the beginning of time for archangels they still have weaknesses and are not Gods. Only Jesus Christ is complete and is invincible in all areas.
I love shoalin Kung Fu movies, I Remember watching these movies Since I was a child, it's part of my History now 🤟🏿♥️
This character is playable in the PC fighting game Shaolin vs Wutang
*@Carnall Hall* Nothing tops original 70s Golden Harvest Kung Fu film. By the time Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon became popular, true martial arts skill was de-emphasized & wire work was looked on as being the better crowd pleaser. So by the late 90s I thought I'd never see original Kung Fu film again
But there's simply no substitute for real Kung Fu fighting, at full speed... I haven't seen the Wu Tang series literally since the mid 80s. Absolutely heartening to see its return ✌ ❤
Holy hell this movie has some unexpected twists i didn't see coming lol. Love it
One the best KungFu movies ever made. One of the greatest villains ever in any movie every fight was dope. Carter Wong voiceovers classic "Give him a quick trip to heaven"
A really successful performance of an immortal with dramatic fight scenes and welcome fights, but the person who was born invincible only turns out differently than expected at the end.
_Moral of the story:_ No mortal is ever truly invincible. Formidable & strong, yes. But never invincible
