One of the best explanations of how the moraine functions I have heard. In light of the terrible flooding in the city this week very timely.

Reclamation of hard waters of Ontario wherever they exist such as in Wellington County where I reside by using chemical treatment is not only cost prohibitive but is riddled with side effects as for animal and human health. Whereas, phytoremediation i.e., using select tree plantations extensively all along the river offshores has immense ;and promising potential to prevent and control the problem waters. Tamarind, Jamun, Red Sanders, Banyan trees have been well known in this regard. These have a significant potential to adapt themselves to the climatic conditions of Canada.

Int6eresting that water is present at the highest points all along the moraine. Kinda defies Physics doesn't it ?
