    Ive found those guns needed alot of work. A barrel re-crown, the mock plastic cocking aid removed and replaced with a barrel weight made the most difference for me 🤔

      Hello thank you for your comment much appreciated. I'm waiting for a bit of free time to have another look at this rifle but it I don't think it will be anything as drastic as removing the barrel shroud - on this rifle it is fully over-moulded including the breech.

    Sounds familiar they don’t zero full stop

      The gun was so inaccurate before the rebuild that I think it hid the scope issues, either that or the gun's extra power is now giving the scope more of a jolt, so I shouldn't be surprised that a cheap optic has given up the ghost.

  • @springpistonriflefeverlone9611

    Sorry to hear that 😕. I have not heard anything good about Stoeger.

      It's just one of those things really, not every project ends well. It is a shame for the owner, but I understand the reluctance to spend any money on it.

      Hello, thank you for your comment and thank you for the pellet suggestion much appreciated.
      It isn't the pellets, as I mentioned in the video it is the scope that is causing the issues. It is adjusting itself every couple of shots, basically the extra power that the gun now has is overloading the cheap scope internals.

    l was going to say that it proves the old saying "you get what you pay for" and then my new £700 plus springer arrived. Well that x20 is much much more accurate with a reasonable power output compared to my new pride and not joyous gun. l was unable to hit a foot square target at 30 feet and the chronograph read all of 8 ft pounds! Needless to say its back with the importer who l shall not name at present but regular u tube viewers will probably be able to guess its origins. In my opinion you are wise to stop now, no point continuing, chuck it in the skip and be done with it! Nice presentation as always, thank you.

      Oh no, sorry to hear that. It does seem to be a depressingly common occurrence. I'm glad you could send it back to the importer, hope you get a replacement soon that shoots as it should do.
      Thank you, glad you are enjoying the videos and thank you for the feedback it is much appreciated.

    like you say bette scope would probably do the job . trouble is the scope would be worth 4 times more than the gun . still at least you got it to shoot reasonably well 👌

    • @nickvending9688
      @nickvending9688  Рік тому

      It is a shame, but yes exactly as you say - it will only ever shoot reasonably well so it isn't worth spending the money on.

    I have one of these and thought I was going mad, I have exactly the same issues, 2 or 3 pellets will group quite tightly then the group will shift then its suddenly like a shotgun all over the place, wondering if its worth trying a different scope or not :(

      Hello, thank you for your comment. Sorry to hear you are having the same issues as me.
      If you have a spare scope then try it, otherwise maybe a shooting buddy could lend you one?
      I think I may try another optic on the gun, maybe one of my Richter Optik 3-9x42s. They are a good strong scope that won't break the bank but also they can be used on another gun if you still aren't getting good results from the Stoeger.
      Hope that helps.

      @@nickvending9688 thanks a lot for the reply, unfortunately I don't know anyone else who shoots, I do have an excalibur cheapo crossbow scope here, it was replaced with a good scope for my crossbow so might stick that on just to see if that changes anything, not sure I want to spend cash if it wont help.

    • @nickvending9688
      @nickvending9688  Рік тому +1

      If the eye relief on the crossbow scope is the same as a rifle scope then give it a go, nothing to lose.
      I agree with you, no point spending more money if it won't help.
      Good luck, hope it goes well.

    Put a pellet in the gun close the action dont fire it open the gun back up to check it hasnt crushed the skirt of the pellet ah thats right you opened up the port bet its on a angle causing the pellet to not align with the barrel

    • @nickvending9688
      @nickvending9688  Рік тому

      Thank you for the suggestion. Before I slightly opened up the breech it was impossible to put a pellet in the barrel without the skirt being damaged. Now the pellets fit fine, no skirt damage at all. Alignment is not an issue.
      But thanks for your comments and suggestions, all feedback is appreciated.
      All the best, Nick.
