Thanks for posting this video. I am a left handed shooter also, and I am considering a LWRC IC DI, POF Renegade +, or an AMD MFG mod 1 or 2. I have never considered LMT. Have you had any experiences with other fully ambi lowers? If so, what are your thoughts?
POF is massive/heavy and ADM have been ridiculously expensive, and not worth even looking into, same goes for radian. I am however getting the griffin MK2 lower and that is full Ambi
Almost looks exactly like the new primary weapons lower. I don’t know why people like the mars lower so much I know it’s LMT but having identical, paddle and release Mill spec size and not in large them is a big miss for me. I don’t know why people don’t mention that because of the high price when there’s other competitive options and also the complete lower is like $700. Not as bad price if you buy it stripped like you did when you rather have the radian lower or American defense or primary weapons for the price? All three of those lowers do come with better safety selector.
The primary weapons systems is a good option for a budget option for sure. I personally don’t prefer the gamer style over the top look. And I don’t need oversized paddles on a work rifle . Haven’t ever had a problem with standard size bolt release paddle ?? And if you train with it you can use a standard colt lower proficient so having just ambi version of a milspec forged lower?? Yeah LMT are doing great work. As far as Radian and American Defense those are billet lowers … no thanks not the same category of tool. Those are overpriced stylized pretty boy type lowers the people who take pictures of there guns more than shoot them. The same guys who have to have a bunch of color matching lancer mags that have never been dropped. Haha LMT all day over those brands. You get what you pay for.
I recently got the Primary arms updated new Ambi and it’s awesome. Definitely one of the three best Ambi lowers on the market probably below radian, and American defense
@@b_doc6142 I didn’t know they had one🤣 I don’t like the radian or the ADM, they look bulky and are thicker then me. I’ll have to look at the OA Ambi lower
If it hasnt been mentioned. PWS ratchet nut and backplate instead of a standard castlenut is an alternative. I have it on all my lowers, they’re great if you dont want to stake. But removal, idk about that. Try not to over tighten them?😅
I think it’s a good idea, and have a few friends that have them, but I do think they’re a one use item. Plus I’d rather stake as to lessen the probability of parts failure due to the spring losing tension over time. I just like a good steel end plate and a decent stake job.

@@shootintheshtpodcast if it does they recently changed. It’s been awhile since I’ve been in the market and they were still bolt release only so I may be wrong. Also just FYI…Radian safeties in 45 degree will not work with Geissele triggers in the LMT MARS L lowers. I’ve always used Radian but had to switch to Forward Control Designs in my LMT lowers. I know you didn’t mention Radian but just in case you consider that option.
@@shannonmarcantel7993 no I had a radian safety and hated it. I’ll probably only run a FCD safeties from now on. I do like the mars lower but I’ve always wants to try a KAC and see if they’re worth the expense… probably not but why not try

At the time they didn’t and I wasn’t spending that kind of money for a lower that wasn’t fully ambi not to mention they’re damn hard to find for msrp. Also keep in mind the KAC upper is significantly lighter than the LMT. The monolithic upper on the LMT is nice but wasn’t worth the weight too me.
@@shannonmarcantel7993 so I looked it up and I cannot find a “full” Ambi KAC. So I must have been dreaming. But for some reason I want to try one but I have a feeling being a left it’s not as big a deal to have a bolt hold and release on both sides. I can also say I wish the mag wells were bigger on the LMT and KAC

@@shootintheshtpodcast Question are you done with you custom builds and going more towards high end factory ARs? I see a lot of people doing that. Whittling their collection down to 2 or 3 high end fighting rifles and calling it a day.

Tbh all I can think about is how I just paid $300 for a lower! & that was with a discount!
Well PWS on brownells is less then 300 and is full Ambi. I have two coming for review.

KAC lowers aren’t full ambi. All my KACs have LMT MARS L lowers.
I thought the gen 3 lowers had the bolt hold and release? Or is it just bolt release?
