I love those type of videos where you talk about the gear, how you use them and then review them. It is thanks to you that I was able to start chainsaw carving a year ago! In the video where you review the Echo Cs 501p, you tell the audience about the carving bars and the 1/4 pitch sprocket and where to get them. You even took the time to answer my email forwarded by cannonbars about the quarter pitch sprocket. So yeah! I bought exactly what you said: an Echo Cs 501p to do about almost everything, a quarter pitch sprocket and a dime tip bar from cannonbars and oh! that was for me a total game changer. Both in safety and agility. it simply made my learning curve a lot less steep and a lot more safe!
So I just came back from carving a landing eagle today and I thought I would take a moment to say thank you for the great content you put out there for us! it is much appreciated.
Thanks Ryan and keep up the good work!
wicked dude thats awesome man thanks for the comment and the well written comment bud cheers .. keep ripping
I have been carving with the 2511 top handle for a couple years.. at the time it was the only one available.. it does give you popeye forarms... but man i do love it.. cant wait to get the battery rear handle..
Right on
I differ about the top handle saws. You would not use a pencil holding the eraser & with the other hand pinching the middle would you? You must support the entire weight of a rear handle saw with your left arm.
You can send me all your gas saws as battery saws come out. Starting with the 2511. I'll take em. Just trying to help 🤟
(Seriously, send em)
Awesome, the 2511 battery saw would be epic, be saving up for one of those for sure !
great video I used a top handle saw once never again I felt out of balance thks for sharing Ryan
WHEW! I almost bought an ECHO DCS-2500. Now I'll wait for the 2511 battery instead!
thamks
Great video, love your personality and approach! Thanks for all the content you have shared on here it's helped me get into carving and expanding my creativity outside of fine woodworking! Stay safe!
Nice, thanks
great video. Thanks for sharing.
Magic Ryan great video 👌👌👌
😅 OMGOODNESS your so talented with carving and yet simple carpetentry your not so confident 🥰 Love your honesty ❤️
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice Video Ryan, but isnt it that you have more feeling with a gas chainsaw because you can run the saw slow if you want? the battery always runs on full speed or am i wrong?
Love the fact you give your honest opinion bro🤘, an yea top handle limits your movement & leverage from my very limited knowledge, Looking forward to seeing the Echo 2511 battery saw .Hope everything's good in your world bro.🤟
I use a cs2511t-top handle with a 12 inch cannon dime tip.. took a bit to get used too it but man i love it..
sweet ass bud ..
Awsome, top handle is not a good carving saw but great as a home owner saw.
Agreed
Hello!! I have echo 2511 top handle saw. Is that uncomfortable and dangerous for chainsaw carving?? I consider buying new 2511 rear handle saw.
Hi Ryan good video I am in agreement with you the top handle is a great arberist saw
for me i personally I like to have the tool closer to my body and having my hands closer together. carving with a rear handle chainsaw yields the same results for me compared to a tophandle.
in the end its mostly muscle memory.
cool to each there own right its like coke or Pepsi lol
@@RyanCookCarvin im more of a dr pepper guy lol.
i got started with cheap tophandle chainsaws because i could get the 1/4 pitch sprocket for it, as well as fairly cheap walbro carburators.
After that i kinda stuck with it all my detail saws are tophandles still. higher quality but the same principle.
for bigger sculptures esspecially doing high cuts above shoulderheight the rear handles work much better for sure.
with a tophandle you would need to go higher up to make the same cut to have the same level of control.
I mainly make small stuff though so for that i really cant tell he difference.
I would just get whatever is most cost effective. esspecially when starting out.
Hi Ryan , greetings from Sb,CA. I've been wondering about buying a chainsaw and I'm aiming for an echo which is considerably affordable but don't know which model within my funds should I get ranging from 200-350 , which echo chainsaw u think I should get ? I'd really appreciate your reply and I love your work !!! Thx in advance !!
Can you make a video on how you haul big logs? I mean I can have a forklift put one in my van, but how do I pick something up that weighs more than 200 pounds? I can obviously roll it, but how do i pick it up while its laying on the long side and stand it up?
ok
Hi Ryan when is A Cut Above coming out and on what channel, you are a great carver, love your videos thanks!
canada gets the first premiere then usa and uk euro after
Great vid no B.S
Where do you get your 1/4 sprocket from for your saws ?
i search high an low for them also .. im trying to get some made for people
Any luck finding these sprocket since ?
Hey Ryan! I'm curious to know, was it a rim sprocket or a spur sprocket that was on it before you converted it?
Just bought a battery powered Echo dcs 5000 and it's a 3/8 spur sprocket fixed to the drum clutch... I hope to be able to convert it to a 1/4 pitch sprocket!
Oooo, I have the gas echo 2511T,,,
It’s hard to hold on to!
It’s a wrist turner!
Not a carving saw.🫤
