- One year later - finally the lightning highline (540m) goes down and this time not due the lightning itself. Here is what happend last year (www.youtube.co...)
Last year, this highline was ment to be a new World Record in the amazing mountain range of the Churfirsten. A Line in the sky connecting the peaks of Schibenstoll and Zuestoll.
Steep cliffs over the beautiful Walensee in Switzerland. Unfortunately the range is very exposed and thunderstorms can hit hard and fast. During one of these, the line was cut and the project couldn't be complete.
So this year, the crew is back. Well prepared and trained to close this open chapter with the gods.
Thank you very much to all people involved in this project.

Great job ! Slack on dudes....slack on !!
Now this is bloody awesome! I'd love to see the uncut footage of Sam crossing the line even if it is hours long!
Unfortunatly the drone doesn't fly that long :D. True story - like 10sec after Sam finished his sent, my drone was automatically recalled due to low battery (was filming from the other side of the highline) - nearly missed the most important part.
I see. Anyways brilliant performance!
Really cool video!!! So beautiful. Congratulations!!!
Biggest respect guys, this is astonishing!
I'm so happy that you got a second attempt at the spot and made it all the way across! much love
Its amazing 👏🏻👏🏻❤
awesome
Inspiring!
Were the violins in the beginning an homage to Masters of Stone?
Could you list the gear you've used for setting up this highline?
There was quite something involved... 600m 2mm tagline, 600m 4mm tagline, 1200m HalfMarathon-Webbing, Anchor point gear on both sides, a few ropes to secure ourselves, Microtraxion and similar gear to pull the ropes over, fisher thread and drone for the connection.
how did you anchor it?
4 M12 bolts each side. On one side in limestone on the other side in a granite. The forces are low, they did never exceed 4kN (400kg).
Amazing work to you all! What was the use of the second line that could be seen at times some distance away? Congrats :)
The second line is for air safety. We had to register this obstacle with the swiss air space control.
One condition was to attach orange ballons and red-white flags to make it more visibile. As you couldn't use a leash when this stuff is attached, a second line was installed.
Static Electrisity Discharge -- BROKE the Synthetic Webbing.
Contact me Sam and I can tell you how to make a Storm safe line.
