Alex thank you so much for this, I think the community has been requesting this for some time so it shows that you definitely listen and we appreciate it!
Dude you are may favorite commentator, "that feels like a sad move - your friends have a lot of fun with the party but, a you need to call the cops on them"...! Thats a big one right there
So you don't understand irony either. Why didn't you list the plethora of mistakes then? Maybe English isn't your first language and if so, I apologize for the comment.@@ireallydontlikethecold7887
As opposed to being your favorite figure, huh? Literally does not equate to equate to "really," so stop teaching Vlad the Impaler (capital I, as it is a proper noun). Almost there buddy, maybe one day you'll log onto the internet and decide to not be a complete a$$hat.@@jaekn
You know what I’ve been playing the kings Indian and thank you so much for explaining the A5 move is to create a strong outpost for your knight on the queen side I’ve never understood before but it makes complete sense can’t wait to start using this in these positions.
Love your videos, Alex. One question, I'm a complete noob and been learning Jobava London for white. But what easiest openings would you recommend for beginners for black? I'm guessing Caro-Kann vs e4 and maybe KID against D4...or would you recommend a diff opening against D4? Thanks!
If you are below 1000 I would go normal London, if you are 1000 go for Jobava London as white. For black caro-kann and Slav (or KID if you have more time for chess)
I can always get a decent setup and sometimes advantage out of the opening, but the middle game plans tend to be tricky and I run out of ideas sometimes. I needed this video
Thanks man. I started with London switched to jobava loved it. Was doing kings Indian for all black learned a couple opening moves of caro for king pawn. Absolutely love the caro. Now this video further help me. Can't thank you enough. 👍
Love your videos man! I myself started to play King's Indian without knowing much about what to do after e5😂, so you helped a lot, thanks! And also I really like how you explain all ideas during the game, your humor makes me remember all moves much quicker haha
Dang man, I love your commentary! Lol, low key funny and no silly clickbait pix! Oh, and I found you when I looked for the Jobava, and now I am just watching whatever you put out, it just happens to be the King's India! This is very refreshing after wathing the "other" mainstream Chess content creators.
Man, I love your videos. It feels like you're reading my mind as I'm never able to finish my "Yeah, but what about..." sentence without you explaining it.
I don't know how you managed to make the King's Indian of all things easily digestible and understandable, but you did it. Another excellent video. Is it possible to try to play games with increment in the future? You are clearly able to outspeed lower rated players in a time scramble but since so a lot of your time is spent explaining the ideas to us you end up with much less time than expected and no increment leads to a lot of unnecessary losses.
Yikes! I'm at beginner level (after a lifetime of playing bad chess) trying to follow game 3, move for move, as you explain strategy! Fascinating to see this ELO play and in a truly instructive context. This is my prep for your KID rating climb and still working on your Caro-Kann videos. Great stuff. Thanks, man, it's a life line!
15:40 does O-O-O get white out of trouble? with the idea being to retaliate with rd8 winning back the piece, as well as unpinning the knight to shut off a move like Nc6
The first game is an excellent example of how the black squares on the queen side are used when the opponent makes a mistake. White's a4 move is a pure misunderstanding of the position because he is not familiar with black's a5 move and what it is for.
I found the last game the most instructive. Everyone I play brings the dark squared bishop out like this. Its rare I see any other lines at 1200ish rapid level. However, all these games were extremely instructive.
15:35 Re8 is bad no ? Opponent could have played O-O-O, and if Bxe5 Bxe5 Rxe5 then Rd8+ fork gets back the bishop. Therefore, I thought Bxe5 first would have won the piece with Bxe5 Re8 f4 f6
Cool 1hr video with good games that give insight to my fav and first opening i learned. Helped me understand it more and play better. Now requesting video playing against kings indian defense, and playing kings indian attack as white. Subscribed❤
15:36 long castle by white and you will also lose the white squares bishop, then your knight and other rook will be more stucked than his other rook and bishop...
Will there be a chessable course sometimes in the future for a black "non-1.e4" opening? Already am playing your london as white, and your caro kann as black again 1.e4, and would love to have also an Alex Banzea opening for 1.d4 :D For people on the fence I can recommend everything on chessable Alex has put out. Best courses on chessabe imho.
First, thank you for the vid. Second 16:10 This is the main problem though Alex. Your opponents are making massive mistakes that put you in the lead -3.0 to -5.0 from nearly equal positions in these videos. Is this how real 1500s should be playing or are you just cherry picking these examples? Are most players cheating? Your videos are super helpful to me, but they don’t help against an engine. It’s very discouraging sometimes to encounter so many 1100s playing better than 2400 Fide OTB levels. But that isn’t your fault 15:30 And Question about game number 2: you said to go Re8 as a puzzle that the opponents king and knight are on the same file, but the engine says that was a massive setback. - It says to go Nc3 to force the knight trade, then Re8 to capture the enemy Rook with a bishop check leaving the enemy knight doing nothing. Had white castled O-O-O here, game would’ve been pretty equal again Nc6 Nxc6 Bxc3+ Ke2 Re8+ Kf3 Bxa1
Could you cover the saemish variation?(1d4 nf6 2.c4 g6 3.Nc3 Bg7 4.e4 d6(wich is the move that I have generaly played, Ik O-O is also possible but I feel like the saemish can come anyways) 5.f3
Thanks for a really informative look at the King's Indian. Instead of running out of time due to lengthy commentaries is it possible to add the audio track after the game has been played ? And maybe even stop the video to accommodate extra chat... Then we would get a true idea of thinking time plus explanation. What ever, thanks Alex.
really thank you, some time ago i asked you about teaching us what to do when white doesnt open with e5 and here you go, i don't know if it's just a coincence or you actually saw my comment but thank you very much 🙏
Hey Alex, curious as to your opinion on KID games with 6. Na6? Such as 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e4 d6 5. Nf3 O-O 6. Be2 Na6. Do you think it’s playable? If so how should one approach the positions differently then in a normal KID?
The need to learn the KID for me came from the fact that my opponent as white can play 1: Nf3 and completely throw me off my Caro and Benoni defense set up.
At 2:33 why not Bh8 then Re8 to preserve the bishop? I thought the black bishop is supposed to be one of the most valuable pieces in the KID and you're only supposed to trade it if you have a good reason
Did I hear you right Alex in suggesting that we usually shouldn't be looking to trade off the light-squared bishop when playing the King's Indian as black? I know that typically a bishop is a bit nicer than a night, but I heard elsewhere the opposite advice... ?
after viewing it again, never have I not had the king for white castles and fen-keto bishop or d3, so takes away allot of your format from this game I never get some one that plays like this, here's hoping, love your play and how you present.
Waitlist for my upcoming Jobava course: alexbanzea.com

I was begging lol

“As long as there’s a hole, there’s a goal.” And here I thought I was just here to learn about chess 😂
Where there is a goal, there is a goalkeeper
When there are two holes, it’s double penetration
I can always get a decent setup and sometimes advantage out of the opening, but the middle game plans tend to be tricky and I run out of ideas sometimes. I needed this video
Thanks man. I started with London switched to jobava loved it. Was doing kings Indian for all black learned a couple opening moves of caro for king pawn. Absolutely love the caro. Now this video further help me. Can't thank you enough. 👍
" and these are the games that you are struggling to beat " , proceeds to lose the next game
15:50 "these are the kinda games that you're struggling to beat?" LOL
Thank you for this! You re the best at explaining openings! Please do even more kings Indian since its such a complex opening with so many lines!
So much to learn on this channel. Improved my understanding of openings by a lot, thanks.
Love your videos man! I myself started to play King's Indian without knowing much about what to do after e5😂, so you helped a lot, thanks! And also I really like how you explain all ideas during the game, your humor makes me remember all moves much quicker haha
Alex, it would be super awesome if you did a series and speed run with only KID and KIA! Thanks for this great video 🙏

Thanks a lot for the Kings indian series. I have just started playing the KID and your videos are always very helpful.
After coming back to chess recently, I’ve never improved more. Thank you for your videos Alex!
Love your instructional vids. Your facial expressions are adding to the experience!

I just discovered your channel and love your take on the KID. More importantly, I love your sense of humor.

Great video--very instructive games! Thank you!
15:40 does O-O-O get white out of trouble? with the idea being to retaliate with rd8 winning back the piece, as well as unpinning the knight to shut off a move like Nc6
Yeah I noticed that too while I was editing 🤫
The first game is an excellent example of how the black squares on the queen side are used when the opponent makes a mistake. White's a4 move is a pure misunderstanding of the position because he is not familiar with black's a5 move and what it is for.
The perfect theory opening by your opponent in game 3 was likey with the use of an opening cheat sheet that gives best move options.
Hahaha I love you Alex! Very good humor and amazing chess, thanks!
Excellent pep talk! Thank you.
Excellent work on this, thank you! You’re a great teacher!
Thanks for some last minute video to destroy my club with
Game 3 was really great, even if not won. Very very instructive!
Interesting video. Thank you. Kings Indian is the only opening I have been practicing playing for a while.. Thank you!
Hi Alex - my favourite chess UA-camr. Your content is informative, easy to watch, and entertaining.
Great I’ve been learning this opening recently 🎉
i love your play & explain videos so much, it really helps to know the reasoning for the steps for a beginner such as myself 💗
This is so wholesome, thanks a lot
greatly waited-for video. I really hope you make a few vids on the kings indian, same as you did with the Caro. Most instructive, thanks
just made another one! ua-cam.com/video/STt8g1vjotg/v-deo.html
I had already seen that one before! I thank you for both, man. Great content
from having okay ish games with Kings Indian everything just makes sense now.. great video

I think everyone who played Indian Just wanted to be Bobby😂
others entertain or go so deep i fall asleep , you are the perfect mix of both , i absorb more from your games , bravo
Good stuff! After being out of the game for 30 years I'm struggling with finding an opening I like against d4. This definately could be it!
Awesome video. I was just wishing for this exact content
" and these are the games that you are struggling to beat "😂 , he made it look easy , (yep, that's the kind of games that I am struggling to beat)
Thank your friend Oswald for playing the part. Very nice of him.
Great games Alex. was looking for an London opening vs King's indian
this videos amazing thank you, been trying to learn the kings indian better i didnt realize i wasent playing it at all how its supposed to be played

43:20 😂
This is awesome. Thanks so much!
I like Alex your sense humour 😂 anyway bought your CaroKann course, looking forward for Jobava one!!!:-)))
At 15:42 white could have castled queenside and won back the piece with rd8+ kg7 rxc8 after the exchanges on e5. More precise was 11…nc6.
indeed!
15:32 What if white plays 12. O-O-O threatening Rd8+ after you take the bishop?
Nice videos so far. Thinking about subscribing yet. Unspotted free queen was remarkably great )
15:36 long castle by white and you will also lose the white squares bishop, then your knight and other rook will be more stucked than his other rook and bishop...

there's plenty of stuff to come!
Missed u as always. ✌️
Are you going to make a course on this? This would be game changing! Please do it :D

It makes me smile when the bishop is happy.
Great lesson Al 👍
Just a heads up, pretty sure the guy in the third game has been banned
I have to say in game 3 the super-consistent opening moves, all around the 15-second mark, stank of using an external reference to me.
Gonna rewatch game 4 later
15:35 Opponent could have castled long, because after taking twice on e5 he could have won your bishop back with rook check
Really enjoyed and probably make this my opening of choice against d4
really thank you, some time ago i asked you about teaching us what to do when white doesnt open with e5 and here you go, i don't know if it's just a coincence or you actually saw my comment but thank you very much 🙏
coach in your next video can u play the pirc defense? same position to the king's Indian defense thanks coach

He has no other pieces developed so I knew his attack would be premature. Stop boxing shadows!
@@AlexBanzea I see, thanks for explaining the mindset
15:40 could he have castled and then picked up your light squared bishop in exchange?
0-0-0 Bxe5 Bxe5 Rxe5 Rd8+ Kg7 Rxc8
I think the doubled c-pawns and weak king means black is still winning but material wise it would be equal no?
"As long as there's a hole, there's a goal" -Alex

Hi Alex, thank you so much for your content! Are there any plans for a Chessable King's indian defense course??
Zoned in on the Jobava course now, so I’m not sure yet
Yes please, I would buy the KID course as well!! ❤ Chessable doesn’t have many of them especially simplified like your great Caro course 🙏
after viewing it again, never have I not had the king for white castles and fen-keto bishop or d3, so takes away allot of your format from this game I never get some one that plays like this, here's hoping, love your play and how you present.
