Anytime I travel, I love to visit local supermarkets...whether in the states or abroad. Apart from being a foodie, I just love getting a better sense of the local community. Thanks for sharing such a variety of food stores in France, including Monoprix. You’re a woman after my own heart when it comes to food shopping, Diane! Besides picking up snacks or picnic treats, I love picking up a variety of their store brand cookies and whatnot to bring home as little presents for people whenever I am in Paris. Those are some cool Francophile shopping bags!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I miss Monoprix. Glad they are still around. I went there often when I was studying in Strasbourg 40 years ago.
OMG! When you started explaining how the public toilet works, I was laughing at myself. Was in Paris in 2016 and needed to use a bathroom really really bad. Went into one just as someone exited, without looking at the lights at door. And yes, I was in there with the wash cycle too. Door opens, I go out and go right back in, door opens with my pants down! Will never forget that funny experience. BTW, those are cool Francophile shopping bags!!!
Monoprix used to be my first stop in Paris before my nap! BUTTER!!!! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. Also, love the toilet demo-that was a new thing back in 1985 when I first visited Paris. Thank you, Diane!
My boyfriend is addicted to your channel! He was a French major at UT Austin and he studied in France for a year in Lyon. :) Great content! We can’t wait to visit the country once we get on the other side of this pandemic! Merci! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
Since my career was as a product rep I really enjoy seeing the variety in your shopping trips. You give a helpful description too. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Should I win I will give it to my daughter in law who has a real love of France.
I was in Paris 2 years ago for my grandson's 10th Birthday. We stayed in the 15th and there was a large Monoprix store that we explored. Thanks for the tour and a sweet memory. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
I agree Monoprix is the closest French equivalent to Target. The last time I was there, I bought wine and an Alsatian wine glass. Oh and, Diane, those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
Yes! Love grocery store tours! Thank you! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! And, the story on getting stuck in the public bathroom during cleaning...haha!! I would have been mortified!
I loved the Monoprix when I was in Paris, I still have my shopping bag, a cashmere sweater and a beret I bought there! It was a great adventure for shopping. Thank you for sharing this trip with us!
I love shopping at Monoprix when I am in France. I also love the sacs and I usually get one or two on my trips. I really like the ones you purchased in the video. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
I have been to the Monoprix many times when in Paris and Valence. "Those are cool Francophile shopping bags." I can't wait until we can visit France again. Thanks Diane.
It is traditional to eat crepes on Candlemas (Feb. 2nd) which is the last day of Christmas. Those are such neat pans.Great video too! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
I miss shopping at monoprix in Paris. Can't wait until the skies are open again. Love your channel and content!! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!! Stay safe!
Bonjour, Oui in Franc!. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. Ever since my first French class in high school I've been a Francophile. Thank you for your witty, exciting, and tres informative videos. All the best, Linda Elaine, West Palm Beach, FL.
I live in Switzerland and we call it a Raclette machine not a fondue machine. Those for raclette just melt the cheese in the pan. You serve it with potatoes and the melted cheese slice slips of the small pan over the potatoes. Fondue pots are something different that one heats wine, cheese and perhaps kirsch to melt the cheese and then one can dip bread into the pot. :)
Good definition of the 2 / The difference is raclette you have your own plate and fondue is one pot for everybody (each one dives pieces of bread into the cheese pot)
Really like your videos. Whenever and wherever I travel I always enjoy going to the grocery stores to find unique items and get a feel for the culture. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags.
One of the most interesting things I do when I visit a new place is check out the supermarkets. I love your supermarket videos - It's good to hear how these French brands are pronounced as I see them also in my local stores. Thanks for always sharing a lot of information. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! :)
I miss shopping at MONOPRIX at Paris. I got their reusable shopping tote at check out, and they are my fav reusable grocery bag. Thank you for the video. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Can't wait for the lockdown to be over, so we can travel again.
Those are cool francophile shopping bags! Even having French as an official language in Canada, we mostly find only English bags... I have a Monop' bag from my trip to France years ago and I still love using it!
My wife and daughter absolutely love Monoprix. I swear we go there almost everyday when we visit Paris. We also love your content so we can relive our trips to France.
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I really do love them, as well as all of your videos. Monoprix seems like a really cool store. I also found the public toilets interesting. The fact that they are self-cleaning is great. We really need them here in America. Looking forward to the next video!
Appreciate the links, especially during these isolated times. I do enjoy your jaunts to the local stores, which are often missed when one is a tourist. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags in today’s post. In the 70s, when I lived with my aunt in Italy during a summer, she always had cloth string bags for shopping. It amazes me today that Americans just recently made reusable shopping bags a thing. Those do make great gifts and maybe a gift bag! Thanks again for the little trip around Paris.
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. They really are a fun and inexpensive souvenir and I enjoyed shopping at Monoprix when I was in Paris . The public bathrooms in Paris are so convenient. I love your grocery store videos!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. And I love your channel. The food, the scenery, your intelligent point of view. This video was great. Monoprix is one of my favorite stores in France. I describe it to people as "French Target." Thanks for the tour!
Your grocery store videos are soooo helpful! My husband and I will be coming to France the end of November for 18 months. We are so excited, and now you've given me an idea of how we will shop. And we will NEED your shopping bags! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I love shopping in the grocery stores. There are a bunch of gifts to buy and bring home. Thanks for the fun content.
I love going into grocery stores but I’ve never gone into a Monoprix, thinking it was solely groceries. I look forward to moving over and visiting the items in the store. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! And another beret is always needed like the nice blue one!
I did get grocery items like truffle salt and Savon de Marseille at Monoprix, but I also bought a couple of cashmere sweaters on a promo that are so cosy and that I still wear today.
These grocery store videos are fascinating, especially since I didn't know in France grocery stores could be multi-leveled with clothes in them too! By the way, those are cool Francophile shopping bags. Being from the U.S., I still am amazed when I watch and see eggs and milk not in the refrigerated section. I always feel like I am learning a wealth of information when I watch one of your videos, thanks!
Bonjour, Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. I’ve been enjoying your channel tons. This past month I have dived back into expanding my French vocabulary and as I have, it’s making me want to visit more and more. So, learning and living vicariously through your channel. Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Love the public toilets & how they self-clean after each patron. Could you please linger a bit longer on store displays so I can get a better look at the items? Could you tell us more about the crepe holiday? Thanks so much!
Many years ago I was an au pair in Paris and need to return from time to time as I love it so. That is not possible at the moment as we live in N. Carolina. We always food shop in Monoprix...your video was wonderful !!! and those are cool Francophile shopping bags which I did not see on our last visit...next time :)x
Thanks for the great tour of Monoprix. I really enjoy seeing the "normal" life tours you give. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I love the Paris patterned one. Thank you!
I have just discovered your videos. I've been going to France to visit family since 1971 and know Paris well - and I LOVE your videos. And yes, you bet I shop at Monoprix.

I think that the videos you make are so helpful. I can say that they are surely helping me a lot for when I go in September. As well as those are cool Francophile shopping bags! They are so convenient as small and can work in so many ways.
Thank you for your posts! Though I'm a Californian, all my closest relatives live in France and your vlogs really keep me in touch with their world while we are separated from one another by travel restrictions. French supermarkets are the best entertainment value on Earth. ( I could spend days in the Carrefour cheese section alone!) And Nantes is such a fascinating city. Can you do a story on La Cigale?
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I love grocery stores and I even make time on vacation to visits grocery stores...it’s my favorite me time activity abroad. I love watching your channel. Since we are traveling watching you shop feels like my kind of vacation.
Monoprix is a great store to visit, has lovely food and home items as well as trendy and classic clothing and sleep ware. It is in large cities and larger towns. Always fun to visit! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
Normally we go to France twice every year, but of course we couldn't in 2020. I MISS a French supermarket so much. Thank you for taking me to Monoprix. Hopefully we will be able to go to France this year. Those are cool Frankophile shopping bags.
Monoprix is the best. I love their cheese sampler plates. A good portion for two of quality cheeses. Not badly priced. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags.
I’m dying laughing at the bathroom story! San Francisco has a couple of those bathrooms and I’ve always wondered if they really rinsed, I guess they do 😂 Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
Great episode, will definitely check out Monoprix when we get there. Also, the new segment was great! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. Thank you for the great content!
Those are cool Fracophile shopping bags. Diane, I love your channel. I lived in Ireland as an expat for 6 years and spent almost all my vacation time exploring France, especially Alsace-Lorraine where a portion of my family originates. Bonne journee!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! It’s fun catching up with all your videos. Merci, Ron Kielar your neighborhood Pharmacist All my colleagues enjoyed your French Pharmacy video! Keep up your great blogs
Those are cool Francophile Shopping bags :) My husband would bring home boxes of French grocery souvenirs every year...thank you for giving me a virtual grocery trip :) Cannot wait to get back to France.
I’m new to your blog and really enjoy and find every interesting and informative. I’ve been to France four times and always seek out Monoprix for a variety of buys. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. Thank you for the time you give of yourself for us.
Bonjour! Hi Diane and everyone. I'm a big fan of your blog, watching from Louisville, Kentucky. I hope things improve so we can travel to our beloved France in 2021. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Merci for the video!
Hi Diane. Still in covid rehabilitation center. Excellent production and content. Always enjoy Mono prix even the smaller ones in Paris. I was caught in the WC wash cycle in Cherbourg back in 2009. Fun experience. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags.
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! This was a fun video (they all are), thanks. My favorite part was the dessert section, and the clothes too! Loved the coats. Thanks!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags and they look really convenient too!! Thanks for your tours of shops and bakeries they are really interesting videos.
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I was very pleased to see you pick up échiré butter. I used to import them into the US! Love learning about new French food products
It is so very nice of you to give away those bags. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. They will certainly get a lot of use, I'm sure. BTW, store tour vidoes are my favorite!
Those are cool Francophone shopping bags! Loved your video. Made me a little "homesick" for France. Wandering in a Monoprix is a fun rainy day thing to. You never know what little treasures you're going to find. Thanks for the interesting videos. 🥂
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I kept one from our trip in 2003. I always get practical souvenirs. The demitasse spoons I have came from a kitchen store in Paris and I use them everyday, no kidding! It reminds me of my trip. Our grand kids love those spoons, too! I love your content. Thank you for taking time to share with us!
Always go to Monoprix when we are in Paris for my husband’s annual attendance at a convention- only place we can find Suchard chocolates. Family fave. (Those are cool francophile shopping bags BTW!) Merci et bonne nuit.
Bonjour Diane! Merci beaucoup for sharing interesting things about France. I like your new ending of favorite things as a bonus moment. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags, by the way. I am a “floral person ... just letting you know .
I love Monoprix. When I was in Paris,, the hair dryer in the apartment t I stayed was not working. I bought a European hair dryer at Monoprix. And wine! And produce. Everything there was so pretty! Those are cool francophile shopping bags. Thanks for making these videos. I so want to go back to France - maybe in 2022 this pandemic will be over. Keep up the awesome work!
Those are cool francophile shopping bags! My first visit to France was over two years ago, and I'm enjoying all of your videos as I prepare for my next trip. Your insights into the culture are great travel prep. Thanks for taking the time to produce them.
Love the grocery, pharmacy and bakery vlogs! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. I went to school in France in 1967, Grande Lycée Antibes and Ecole Normale d’Instituteur in Versailles. Not sure if either exist anymore. France gets in you for sure, lucky I was able to have the school/culture experience. Keep up the wonderful glimpses into everyday experiences.
Love, love, love French grocery store videos. Monoprix is right there on top!! Cheese section is my fav but . . . . . Those are cool Francophile shopping bags
That was funny about the bathroom. It’s funny to hear about experiences while visiting another country. I remember learning that a lot of hotels conserve energy by inserting the key card to activate the electricity. When I spoke with the receptionist about the electric not working, he looked at me like it was common knowledge. Always little differences you learn as you go. Enjoyed the video!
Yes, so true! I had the same thing happen years ago thinking the electricity was cut, not realizing you had to put the card into the slot on the wall. I don't know if it wasn't common in the US for it to be done that way back then (still isnt?) or just something I hadn't seen. Now we know. ;-)
I went to a Monoprix a month ago and was so overwhelmed at all the fun stuff there that I didnt end up getting anything. Ugh. Ended up missing out on the awesome reusable bags of course as well. We are planning to go back next year and for sure will buy a bunch of clothes and stuff from Monoprix and other shops ❤️ Too bad I missed out on all your generous and fun giveaways! Thanks for all you do for all of us 😊
I recently found your videos on my suggested page a couple months ago and have binge watched almost all your videos since then. The grocery/market/shopping videos are my favorite! Those are cool Francophile shopping bags.
I love all your food vlogs in the bakery and supermarkets. I would spend a fortune in that shop when its a shop that not close to home I buy all the nice treats you can't buy at the local shops those are lovely Francophile shopping bags
Bonjour from Vancouver Canada, Diane. I love your UA-cam content as well as your newsletter. Also did I mention “Those are cool francophile shopping bags”!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags :) Thank you for making my stay at home more tolerable! I cannot wait to travel to France...! Please stay safe. Lots of love
So enjoy those grocery store videos. It's interesting to see what other countries carry in their stores. Especially enjoy the desset/sweets sections! Thanks for the sharing your life in France with all of us. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Take care
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I love watching these videos because it’s takes me back to my last trip to France & my time there. Thank you for transporting me to France if only for a few moments!
You shop like I do. I still delight in all the monoprix goodies! 😅 I love walking through monoprix. They have such beautiful design on all their packages
Fun video. Reminded us a lot of Dunne's in Ireland. We love grocery stores and visit many when we travel. France is definitely on our list once the world reopens. Also love seeing the public toilets. Wish more countries had these. Sure could use them in NYC!!! BTW....Those are cool Francophile shopping bags😎
I found 3 silk shirts on a discount rack in a Monoprix near the Bastille in Paris 5-6 years ago. I'm hard to fit on any day but these fit right off the rack. They're a different weave of silk that needs no ironing. Wash, don't wring just hang them up dripping wet and they dry in 30 mins without a wrinkle. At 20 euro each I still have all 3 and wear them regularly. Fantastic quality. Now, I always visit the Monoprix in every large French city I visit. Good video. I'm watching and waxing nostalgic. I so want to be in France.
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I’ve learned so much from your channel already. Now can’t wait to go to France when we are allowed to travel again so I can hit Monoprix hard! Just love your content....Jean in California
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Would love to fill them with goodies on my next visit to France. Love these visits to shoppes and stores. Merci beaucoup.
Thanks for all your work on this. What I could not see at all were prices, which is a main need in a grocery store video to understand daily life and budgeting. Next time you do a shop tour, could you please include? Thank you!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! I remember a fairly wet adventure in one of those lavatoires once in a small town in the south of France. Would have benefited from seeing this video first! Have been a subscriber for awhile now and always enjoy your vlogs. Wishing I could return to France, a fascinating country.
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Awesome video! I love seeing what grocery stores in other countries have that we don't have here in Canada! Merci!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Thank you for the tour. I like our little visits to France! You make such interesting videos. I learn a lot and feel like I experience a slice of France with each video!
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. Had one from 10 years ago when we were in Paris. Since then, I always go to Monoprix in Paris on every trip. I think prices are great! Enjoyed your presintention.

Thanks!

We really enjoy the grocery store tours - Thanks very much. And those shopping bags - Those are cool Francophile shopping bags ! They really are !
Those are cool Francophone shopping bags! Loved your video. Made me a little "homesick" for France. Wandering in a Monoprix is a fun rainy day thing to. You never know what little treasures you're going to find. Thanks for the interesting videos. 🥂
I love watching your supermarket videos to see the great products you have in France. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags.
Bonjour! Those are cool Francophil shopping bags! French grocery stores are wonderful; I always find great items to bring home. Merci!
You're very welcome! I'm with you 100% on the practical souvenirs that you can use often and that remind you of your trip. That's the way to go!
Glad you like them!
I love Monoprix and visit anytime I'm in France. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags. Please continue with your videos. I enjoy them. Thank you!
Bonjour! Love you blog!! Thank you for helping me “travel” during this time. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags 😊

Thanks for a great video. I love French grocery stores. I could wander for a ridiculous amount of time. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
Bonjour Diane! Love your channel. Enjoyed the trip to Monoprix.
Those are cool Francophile shopping bags!
Thank you!
Loved the video Diane. The food all looked so good. Those are cool Francophile shopping bags! Keep the videos coming!
