Yea, I actually replaced my gen 1 superduke (that had a full system and cat delete) with a stock gen 3 superduke, and it was honestly a sense of relief not having to deal with such a loud exhaust anymore haha. No worries starting it up late at night, and way more discrete when being a hooligan on the roads. A part of me will always miss that roar of the gen 1 though.
Have the same bike with full Akro exhaust , very sorry I did not buy a so called Shorty , where one does not hide the beautiful rear wheel , thanks for sharing , great video
I have this bike. I have decat link pipe but have not put it in. I running the AR gp1r slip on. Wondering if you had to get the akro flash when you decat?
Yeah I took the easy road and got the akrapovic map from the ktm dealer. You can however get a custom tune on your ecu or get a powercommander tuned for your bike, that's the best option. Maybe i'll get a custom tune once I have more mods on this bike.
Vraagje..
Do you not need the Akra map uploaded otherwise its running to lean, and not so much back pressure due to cat delete, apparently these big V twins like back pressure, great vid tho 👍👍👍
You'll definitely need the akra map, because it will run too lean! I also heard people say it will run like shit/ loss of power etc. with a decat, but i haven't noticed any downsides since i've installed the decat + Sc-project. Also I chose the Arrow decat because it's not a full 'staight pipe' from what i saw. Thanks!
Nice exhaust i bought twins ones for my Kawi Z1000 the only issue is i wish they had a nice nameplate riveted on like most others the sticker is very cheap for the price these exhausts cost
Dis you find any differences After mapping ? Can you give me your impressions ? Horsepower ? Torque ? I have the same bike with almost same package and i m going ti remove SAS Also.. Thanks
First of all it sounds a lot better of course! Also, on low RPM it was a little nervous on the gas, but after the exhaust and mapping that was completely gone. I can't notice the difference in HP because quickly after i bought the bike, i changed the exhaust.
Not a healthy sound really. My friend has a workshop and he says that KTM street bikes have a very weak 2 cylinder engines, especially those which have a big hp numbers. He says ktm enduros and motocross 1cylinder are way more quality/reliable then two cylinder street line. He had two bikes with engine faults less then 10k kilometers.
@@Ignas2fly the KTM lc8 actually is a very reliable engine.. all of them from the 950 to the 1290. I've seen 950's with more then 200.000 miles on them.
Maybe i'll get it later on, the thing it does is removes the supply of fresh air to the exhaust so it stops popping. But I kind of like the popping haha🙂

Ignas2fly The older models like the 950 and 990 Supermoto still had some problems, the 790’s 1190’s and 1290’s are all very good. The quality on those 1 cylinder engines is because they are racing engines designed to run at peak power at almost twice the rpm and temperature that the normal road bikes do. The Cross/enduro’s are extremely hard to maintain; oil changes every 500 miles, a whole new piston every 2000 miles or so (i use km so i’m not sure if this is super accurate). The 1290 has service intervals of 10.000 miles.
Not sure how. I have a 990 SD and a 1290 SD. They have like 3 levels of oil filtration and screens all through the engine to stop particles from circulating and causing more damage. If you don't do shortcuts on the maintenance they really should last. If you have done any touring, adventure bike riding I have run into people going around the world and they usually choose a KTM 990 adventure or some kind of BMW. Its a well designed power train.
Without dbkiller very cheap sound, like without muffler at all. You should put the db killer back it would feel way more quality, but at the same time aggressive. Peace.
For anyone reading. You do need a tune. These bikes run open loop after 5500rpm and or 20% throttle. Meaning the ecu relies on the maps tuned into it. You can do a power commander and add auto tune if you like. That will allow the bike to auto adjust fueling to mods you make under all engine operating conditions.
@@gforce_117 You have no idea what you're talking about. Power Commander lmao. This isn't 2005 homie. Replaced the cat/muffler on my 5th Gen ZX-10R with a titanium pipe, and got a titanium akra muffler to replace the secondary. Bike has been running perfectly for the last 7 years, which is probably longer than you've even been riding.
@@markb1511 Super dukes are open loop high load and rpm, Homie. Therefore tune required to be “perfect”. learn the difference between open/closed loop. And wideband vs narrowband. Your ZX10 might be different. Idk, don’t have one. Not all EFI bikes have the same strategy. I have cat delete and slip on with my gen 1 SDR and it runs ok no tune as well but it’s running lean WOT as a result. Fine for street, but not for running hard at the track(in my opinion, do what you want). To maintain a proper afr you must tune em. Not a scam.
