I use mine as a home based, grid-down back up refrigeration/freezer tool and generally like it. I've heard and read from others that sometimes ice will form on the door seal area and happened to mine just a bit the first time I turned it on. maybe it had some built up condensation ? after letting it air out ,thereafter it pretty much went away.
I’d love to hear more about your power source, Solar setup, timeframes with the new iceco, alternate fridge options, etc. The Gladiator has brought a lot of us truck owners finally in to the Jeep world where we’ve wanted to be but couldn’t afford a truck and a wrangler, and like me we’re new to the overland experience. Your videos are always great with details and specifics so I trust your assessments. Side note, I also ride motorcycles(Harley cruiser) and I’m looking at the idea now with the Gladiator at toy hauler and Adventure bike route. The ability to tow a toy hauler with my Gladiator and an adventure bike then jeep or ride from a camping home base seems really appealing. With a lightweight rack and tent option e we could camp, ride, jeep, and overland all in one vacation. There is just nothing like the options the Gladiator offers like this. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the best setup. Toy hauler, bike, etc! Big fan, thanks for the great content! Maybe we can get a camping, riding, Jeeping, overlanding trip together one day! 😎👍
VL90 D Pro It just went out on me a week ago. Been going back and forth with the support team. Been slow as snails with them. I sent what they asked did what they asked. I cannot find the issue with it. It simply won't power up anymore. The 15 amp fuse looks intact, the MOBO seems fine, i don't see any scoring or evidence of shorting out. No burnt terminals or wiring connecting to the MOBO either. Tried powering it on using DC on the front and back connections, It's been running on AC for over a year now with no issues other than a little ice formation near the lid which i don't think was an issue as the dual compartments were exactly on the set temps. Any where else i should look to resolve the no power issue other than the MOBO and fuse?
@@BigRockOutdoors1 I’m building my own DIY Peltier Fridge/freezer! (w/Thermostat!) 12v and 240v. Can anyone suggest what size fan and how many fans and modules would be needed and including Thermostat and power inverter if needed ? All videos on net display very small enclosures and my enclosure size I need to freeze is 500mm wide x 1000mm Long x 500mm Base depth with top opening waterproof case door (i do prefer to use top as seating so maybe fans and heatsink sticking out may not be desirable (hope someone can help) Thx
Very quiet, and the power consumption spikes to 80w for a moment and settles down to around 60w once its up and running. During the Summer up in the Sierras i spent a few day camping in 95F and i was powering it with a 3100WH battery bank and only used 48% of the battery, and that was with other attachments connected like laptop, water boiler, griddle, charging phones etc... so its economical as far as power usage goes.
Nice review, looks super great and a lot of cool features, appreciate the tips on how to keep it powered up.

Red wine in the fridge? To each their own, my man. And, nice job picking thier best offering!
Perfect for my off grid cabin run by a solar generator!👍
Thanks Ian.
Been wanting to know how this brand holds up and keeps things cold for a while now. I’ve tried another brand and wasn’t impressed.
Does yours freeze up around the lid at all? Mine freezes around the brim of the lid (outside of the lid). My VL65 DZ and VL45 Pro do not.
I just ordered mines just now...
What is the avg wattage draw on this model pls
Why would you use red wine as an analogy when red wine is not stored in the fridge?
Take it on an overland outing and review again
How long was your power station able to keep the fridge/freezer going?
at least 18-24 hours without a recharge

Any problems with icing outside the lid? I have issues with mine.
nope
How much condensation build up do you get?
not bad
Too heavy. Unusable for most people.
Yes it is heavy. Need two people to move it around even when empty.
