Japan is so far ahead of us especially with technology

All of these products would be SOO much fun for a sleepover party for kids. As an adult, I would love them as well, but I think kids would really enjoy them.
We Filipinos have cheese in/on some of our desserts. On our sweet bread rolls called ensaymada, we use cheddar cheese...and in our ice cream, we use Pina brand cheese which comes in a red ball and Is a Dutch cheese called Edam.

Häagen-Dazs still makes a green tea ice cream, but it's hard to find.
I think you need to take those melted cones back! If you have a Trader Joe's nearby they have mini ice cream cones and I like them a lot. Such cute buns!
The bunny bun looks like a walrus when it's upside down!
cheese is a very popular flavor in the Philippines!! It's one of my fave flavors! If you can find Magnolia brand anywhere near you, that's what I always had as a kid ❤

A local boba shop I love were selling those little piggy buns and they are super adorable! Of course I bought them immediately once I saw them 😅
How do they taste?
@nicanonymus2491 Pretty similar to how Emmy described them. The ones I had were filled with the red bean paste instead of the custard like hers. The dough is really squishy, but pretty plain. I think I'll only buy them again for how cute they are!
@@graciegregg7276 A lot of places serve them with sweetened condensed milk to dip them in & that makes them more sweet & tasty.
The ice on the outside of the ice cream indicates freezer burn. They'll take them back. I think I would like to try the buns.
I live in NYC, and the piggy steamed buns are my kid's favorite when we get dimsum. Piggy custard is the highlight of his dimsum experience, whereas I'm totally there for the chicken feet, the boneless duck feet, and the duck tongue. Yesh...I'm the weird Gweilo...lol. They literally chuckle every time I point to what I want. A few of my regular favorite spots already know me and come right over.
Those little buns look amazing to me! I find bao, red bean paste and ube to be delicious!

We get the chocolate and vanilla mini soft cones in SCal from the local Korean mart. My teen loves them! He prefers soft serve over ice cream. They are pretty decent for frozen
The ice cream macaron is great if you pick a good flavor. If you’ve never had one it’s definitely worth a try. Not everyone will like them. I’ve seen a variety of them at Whole Foods.

The mangosteen one looks like it had a spongebob flower on top.... I love it. And while I love matcha ice cream my favorite flavor of soft serve is black sesame and it's hard to find in the US.

Rechargeable products definitely have a shelf life. We have had to replace our vacuum and dust buster so mini vacuum a few times because the stupid rechargeable batteries died.

You should try out the Van Leeuwen ice creams! They're a french style ice cream so it's much more custard-y with more egg yolks in the recipe, but the flavors are the real stars of the show. The Earl Grey Tea flavor is my favorite, but they have some other unique ones like Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin, Buttermilk Berry Cornbread, Honeycomb, and more! The pints should be at most grocery stores, but you can buy them online too! Very thick, indulgent, and packed with flavor! You would love them! 🍨

Definitely get your money back for those cones... That's a grocery store issue, either they were left out too long before being stocked or the freezer busted or went down during a power outage

Recently saw a "Jolly" episode on YT where they ate at a restaurant in London that had just earned its first Michelin star and they served a classy version of a pork "slider" served in a piggy bao bun.
they clearly earned that star, that's awesome

I just got back from Mitsuwa. They had the soft serve cones and I was tempted to buy it but I figured they would melt before I got home. Glad I didn't. BTW: The best matcha ice cream I've had outside of Japan is in Kapaa at a small shop called Matchaya. Amazing!

Hi Emmy, I live in RI and my favorite matcha ice cream is the honeycomb matcha from the ice cream barn in Swansea. It’s sooo delish and they source local ingredients as much as possible. Hope you try it! 😊

Haagen Daz still makes matcha, but it has been harder to find over the years. At least where I live in the South.
I love that soft rubbery texture of the ice cream cone. I prefer that texture over crunchy. I'd probably really like that ice cream
I’ve also tried the little piggy steamed buns they are delicious.
The problem with grocery store ice cream novelties is that most of them aren't insulated enough to guard against melting during a freezer's defrosting cycle. If you want novelties that tasted freshly made or very close to it, you'll need to either find an ice cream shop that sells them, making sure to pack them in dry ice for the trip home, or pay a premium for an ice cream delivery service like Schwan's. (Don't worry if you've never heard of the company, they're based out of Marshall, Minnesota.)

Emmy: if your Drumstick cone had that weird rubbery texture, it was stale/freezer burnt. They should very much be crunchy. I'm guessing that one is, too.

Ugh, I felt the disappointment in the mini-cones, I would have been bummed too with the condition they're in. Those steamed buns are so adorable though, it's too bad they're so bland.
