Don't overlook the ignition switch. If the key is inserted into the lock and the door is open, some cars will have the power lock disabled, so you can't lock the door with the key in the ignition. My 2001 Sebring power lock switch will pull the relay, set up the alarm but the door locks will not actuate. You can now open the door without unlocking with the Fob, and the alarm sounds. If you push the unlock button on the Fob, even though you can see that the locks are up, the alarm is disarmed and you can open the door without setting the alarm off. By inserting, removing, and giggling the key I can cause this symptom to be present and not present. I need to check out the switch on the end of the lock cylinder.

Brilliant! My Locks try but cant open enought to unlock it so Im lost do I replace the battery in the remote or actuator?
Would this help me figure out why my power locks are faulty with my key fob? The fob works perfectly fine, some times it works, sometimes it doesn't. The lock work fine when I use the key in the door.
When the keyfob works, I can use the switch in the door with the door open, and it will still lock.
When the keyfob isn't working, my power locks will lock and unlock. What should I do?

hi I have a 2005 lincoln navigator when i hit the switch to lock the doors they all lock but when i hit the switch to unlock them none of the doors unlock. i can open and close the doors fine with the remote and key pad on the door. i tried using the passenger switch to but it only locks but not unlock. please help as the dealer wants $$$$ just to look at it.
okay..i like this..i need to pick your brain..i am replacing the door lock actuator on a 99 trans am...i was looking how to take off both rods..i know one..but the other..difficult to see.. also..what do my interior lights STAY ON? after 15 minutes..parked..they go off. (normal when in trouble)..but when driving..the lights stay on..well..if you dont think i look stupid..dumb blonde stuff..i know it~..ha ha..
some of my nissan murano door locks don't lock all the way.. they lock half way.. and some times the big backdoor lock won't open or close.
? When I push my door unlock/lock button the switch rapidly opens closes untill it decides to stop.Whats up with that? Ford Focus driver side.
What about if when 3 of the Doors stop unlocking, and only the drivers door does. Via Remote or Switch inside the car? (they all stopped at once)

Have a constant clicking, ticking from center dash, passenger door open for 5 minutes, ticking stops, close door, starts again.. Drained battery twice.. Where is the fuse that controls this..?...
i have a hyundai accent 2001 and every door locks and unlocks exept the front/right passenger.. it always locks but almost never unlocks.. 9 out of 10 tries not unlocking. even if i try to unlock via remote or via the driver lock. anything i can try? you think is an elecrical thing or maybe a weak/almost dead lock motor?
check that door and its lock mechanism. that's were the problem is
