Larry is in my opinion one of the most disrespected Legends. The same thing happening with Jordan and Lebron also happened earlier in LeBrons career with Larry. The media had been already running away with the story that Lebron was the greatest SF by the time he was finished with the HEAT. They used Larry as a stepping stone to prop up LeBron in the goat debate.
I don't even think Lebron has a claim to greatest SF now. Larry's overall game and mindset was just different. Sad how little recognition he gets by modern fans, because a lot of the things that made him a LEGEND, we can all be better from.

One of the funniest things I've ever heard was what Magic said about the '84 Lakers vs Celtic finals, compared to what Larry said about it. I'm not exact with the quotes but it's pretty much what they said:
Magic: "I'm sure everyone was expecting a good seven game series."
Larry: "Yeah I thought we'd sweep them in four..."
First time I heard those quotes one after the other I just couldn't stop laughing. He was so confident they'd just demolish the Lakers, no quarter given, LOL. This was the Showtime Lakers, with Kareem, Magic, and Worthy, but he was going to treat them as no more than scrubs. That was Larry, solid unshakeable confidence.

Bird deserved the 81 FMVP. Bird shunned the press and interviews. Here are the numbers for each player per game for the 81 Finals. Maxwell was 17.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Bird was 15.3 points, 15.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. Bird actually outplayed Maxwell in games 1,2,3, and 6. Maxwell was better in games 4 and 5.

The Video Got A Few Things Wrong BUT I'll Just Point Out How Really Bird First Hurt His Back; It Happened In The Summer Of 1985 & He Hurt It While Shoveling-Gravel. When You SEE The Commercial That Bird & Magic Made While At Bird's Home In 1987. Notice All That Gravel Around Bird's Court & Where Magic's Lemmo-Car Was Parked On. Bird Did All That Himself & Other Parts Around The Area. He First Hired His Youngest Brother & A Couple Of Friends Of His Youngest Brother. But He Got Very Upset With Them Because They All Were Lagging About & Complaining. So He Said F-It I'll Do It Myself & He Did. But It Also Started A Chain Of Event's Hurting His Back. Also In The Off Season Of 89-90 He Had A Disc Removed From His Back (I Think It Was That Summer).
    So How He Played,
ANY-GAMES In 1990-91 & In 1991-92 Is Just A Miracle In It's Self. Yes He Should Have Gotten Finals-MVP In The 1980-81. But I Think It Didn't Really Bother Him Because Deep Down He Knew & Other's Knew. It Was Like A Pity Given To Maxwell BECAUSE Yes Bird Did Have Better #'s In Rebounding & Assist's & Only 3-Points Behind Maxwell. I Think Bird Felt Relief In Away Because He Won A Lot Of Things In His First Year & He Didn't Want Maxwell & Other's To Feel Left Out, Just Wanted Peace With His Teammate's.

Agreed. I always get pushback when I tell people I have him at #2 all time, only behind Mike. He is just everything you would want as a basketball player. He can shoot from anywhere, is clutch, rebound, one of the best passers ever, read passing lanes, steals. Aside from his stats, a great leader, made his teammates better, mentally/physically tough, maybe the smartest nba player ever. Most important is just how he affected every game or other players mentally even without the stat sheet. You listen to almost any player from his time and they tell you they actually feared him or had sleepless nights. I get it if people never saw him play, but he was ridiculous man, and so much fun to watch.
To your second statement, also controversial but I have Hakeem at #4 all time. One of the most skilled 2 way players to ever do it. If he had as much help as many other of the legends have, he would be in a lot more conversations. He was a monster.

BUT... AGAIN he averaged 15.3 rebounds 2nd to moses and a full 6 more than any other Celtic.. Magic didn't get pressured so hard all game long like Larry. They knew what they were doing and it was a good strategy, but it was kind of cowardly. IF you are willing to look at context... because no other top 10 player NEEDS more context because no other top ten player basically ONLY had a 9 yr career with a coach who actually held him back for his first 5 yrs... its honestly amazing when your really look at the full picture.. and that he had that much effect on the history of the game in such a short period is insane.... and that he is still in most sane people's top ten all time for only 9 Yrs is insane and clear evidence how truly great he was.

lol.. not a cocaine addiction.. just a bad night overdose.. to say next jordan? they were 2 yrs apart and good friends . one was sf one sg. bias was a big 6 8 and nba muscular as a senior. with an nba ready mid range jumper .. the one thing he definitely had on jordan at that point... he was a great college defender and very good rebounder.. he could jump high . the way I saw him is he would have been a little bit stronger and more or at least as athletic wilkins with a better nba ready shot , better rebounder and MUCH better defender... he imo would have been a very good steals guy and VERY good shot blocker for that position...
the only thing unknown is would he have the discipline to be a great defender and would he have any ability to pass and have floor vision as it wasnt asked of him in college... not was it jordan but jordan showed he could pass...
Going to the celtics who were one of the top few defensive teams as well as one of the top assists teams as they would have 4 guys averaging over 5 assists... he was on the best team to learn those traits...
at minimum, given the injuries in 87 I feel he gets a huge opportunity to run the floor with prime bird and allow Kevin to heal and be healthy for the finals.
having a healthy kevin for the finals probably would have been enough... but having a healthy kevin AND a rookie bias who is contributing? I think its almost certain 87 ends differently. And im not even mentioning the nagging injuries to Parrish and walton... having bias possibly could have helped their situation also .. so this was the turning point... losing bias and birds injury... 2 little tweaks to the celtic history and we quite possibly are speaking differently about the goat conversation
