    literally just ordered an intuos pro m to upgrade from my xp pen artist 12 because your old video made me realize how much better it is to draw while looking forward and not hunched on your tablet. nice setup! and thanks for making these vids!

      Feel you, I also converted to the intuos pro and it was the best choice I’ve ever made. Nothing is better than a good posture

    My work got me a cintiq 24 pro touch but after over ten years of using tablets with displays my shoulders and neck are fkd so looking at getting a decent non display tablet with touch.

    • @evaander
      @evaander 5 днів тому

      That’d be a dream tablet. Screenless with touch support.

      I'd endlessly recommend the Intuos Pro with Bluetooth, I have the small version, It's nice to be able to map both the display and surface of the Intuos.
      Having the touch getures on it as on the Cintiq or in my case, Mobile Studio Pro feels amazing. All best wishes for you and your shoulders!

    Lovely setup, 7:44 a (maybe expensive) solution for moving the drawing tablet without having to move the main display would be to get a c-stand (those used by photographers) then you detach both monitors from the desk, mount them on the c-stand and you can put the drawing tablet a little lower. You can also mount your cameras, lights on the horizontal bar and even the audio interface in a tray. I know it's not for everyone but that's the setup I'm trying to build.

    Lol I do the exact same thing and I thought I was being weird and "waisting" a good display tablet but honestly drawing while looking down at the display causes me a horrible neck pain, so I opted for looking straight at my monitor instead. It's just the most comfortable and healthy way of working imo 🤷🏻‍♀️ sadly my tablet doesn't have touch support and I also struggle with what to do with my left hand. I'm using a small numpad thingy for now but I'm thinking about buying a tourbox, idk.

    I like this set up, I do something similar myself due to neck strain whilst using my older 13 inch Huion Kamvas pro that has built in shortcut buttons. I have a 24 inch monitor behind at a comfortable height, positioned so I dont need to turn my head to see all of it, then my Huion monitor is on its stand on my desk at a fairly low angle. I can easily look down if I get to a difficult bit and need more accuracy, but mostly I prefer to look forwards. The screen brightness can be turned to black if I want that option too 👍

    I prefer using a drawing display the way you use it for painting and sculpting, but the "normal" way for sketching

    I was looking at purchasing the Huion 19” display but then the bad reviews started showing up regarding the build quality and pen response. How accurate is that pen compared to a Wacom? I refuse to go the typical iPad route due to the tiny 12.9” screen size and my older eyes. To me that 19” screen is just right. I already have a 27” Dell Canvas that I would use as my monitor.

    What I use these days is a under desk keyboard and mouse tray you clamp onto the desk, so no drilling needed. Need to answer a message? Just pull out the keyboard and type away. Way more comfortable than when I used to have the tablet on an arm and move it back and forth sometimes
    And I would just have the tablet on the table with it's feet flipped out.
    Allows the monitor arm to have a gaming monitor and perhaps even a laptop holder.
    It sucks only when you want to use the tablet as simply a secondary display, and because it is at an angle you always gotta readjust posture and look down on it.

    The Amazon basics ergotron-like arm is pretty good. I never had that problem while resting my arm on it.

    I have mine pretty similar. I have my main monitor up above my XPPen 15.6Pro which is on a monitor arm. I can pull the 15.6Pro towards me to draw, and when not drawing push it back to line up with my main monitor and use it as another monitor. I also have a Asus 22in monitor on the right in Vertical mode, to use for Discord. I have my 15.6Pro up about 4 1/2 inches from the desk surface, so I can easily pull it towards me without having to move my keyboard at all.

    That's a cool display/pen tablet! I wonder if that function is also available in other brands; or is it just Huion right now?
    Also, head cannon alternate title: "This is why my drawing setup doesn't suck"

    This is a great ergonomic setup! Curious though about how you're able to draw on the display even though the screen isn't being mirrored?

      I was scratching my head too. He was maneuvering the 3d object on the big monitor by moving the pen on the smaller screen that wasn’t even showing the same object on the big monitor! Some kind of sorcery going on? It doesn’t make sense,

      @@SellyS. I think he was actually just faking it and just moving the stylus around as an example since he was actually maneuvering the model with the keyboard.

      Just setup the work area to be use on other monitor, then it'll act like normal drawing tablet, without the display being mirrored. Its in the option, even my display tablet can do that. This thing is useful tho, since even if tablet's display is broken, the work area normally still going to work, can be use like normal drawing tablet.

    I really struggle with lineart but most of my art is lineless paintings so I look at my monitor. But whenever I'm doing lineart and really struggling, that's the only times I do look down at my display and it really helps :) but I cannot stand looking down for long periods of time, my neck and back suffer a lot.

  • @AngeNamnNamnsson
    @AngeNamnNamnsson 5 днів тому

    Sketching and lineart directly on the cintiq, feels more natural.
    Colouring/rendering process on a intous, more ergonomic.

    Watch out that your hand should be in straight line with the elbow, or there is some problems later, I would recommend you to put a plushie or something so the arm can rest directly on the desk but then you will have it in a higher position more sturdy.

  • @MoeruX

    Rather unique setup choice, kinda defeating the purpose of the tablet having a display lol. For whoever want to use monitor mount for tablet, way better if you use north bayou brand mount. It wont move as much like in the video, not as pricey too. I'm using one right now myself, for my tablet, just a 16inch one though, not as big as boro's

    I'm looking forward to black friday in the hopes to be able to afford one of the XP-Pen Artist Pros. At the moment I'm working with a cintiq 13, standing on a standard metal laptop-Stand (which is working surprisingly wenn because I can position my keyboard in front / under my drawing tablet and since the tablet is a view inches raised, I work somewhat ergonomic that way)

    Bad set up !!, "Flex arm stands" is very bad investment, because it will shaking. Even the caliber of "Wacom flex arm" is still shaking. 😬
    What make me disturbing, its how you keep moving and touching the secondary monitor, and yeah, do it for 2-3 years and the secondary monitor will get broke because of the pressure. 😬
    The only logical reason for drawing set up is, you used the fix stand for pen display, even you plan to force them to move back and forth, to change the keyboard position, you can simply create an additional custom wood with slider in the bottom. No one artist using this method because they don`t exist in youtube. I`m using this method (adding a slider in the bottom to move it back and forth) for several years, it look way better than this. 😬
    I know some artist just want to play save, but for me, this is a `Mislead`.😬
    Sorry to say this.... 😬

    игровой кейпад razer orbweaver на оптических переключателях будет на пару порядков удобнее неказистой лепешки слева от клавы. на основании 10 лет опыта советую. Прям буквально на два порядка удобнее.
