Landing on a Snowy Mountaintop: Garrett County Airport (2G4)

A friend and I went for a little winter's day adventure and checked out Garrett County airport in western Maryland. Sitting at over 2,900 feet above sea level, 2G4 is among the highest airports in the region. We stopped to stretch our legs for 30 minutes and then continued north into PA, but not before catching some views of a very frozen Deep Creek Lake. The attendant alerted us to icy conditions prior to our arrival, so I made sure to grease the landing on the way in. :)

Spent many summers on the shore of Deep Creek Lake as a child. Great place in warmer times.

try ingalls field sometime by Hot Spring VA - it's like landing on an aircraft carrier. Highest airport in the east.
