I recently lost 37 tabs due to an unexpected crash on Opera, when I came across video I told myself "holy shit, THIS IS IT!" thank you so much for showing this! I have 32 tabs saved.

this video could have been better, the issue of Chrome not saving multiple windows tabs (while true) can be easily bypassed by only using 1 window for everything and if you wanted to separate/group different tabs then Tab groups should have existed when this video was made, granted even now in 2024 they don't work all that great, I have 7 groups (totaling ~1130 tabs) and every time I launch Chrome I get a mostly empty top bar (only the tabs before the 1st tab group show up) and I have to open a new window to make the rest show up (and then close it).
So is Session Buddy a good replacement for tab groups ? I've been meaning to get back to using Firefox and there I found a great extension called Simple Tab Groups which works like the tab groups in Chrome but when you switch tab groups it replaces the currently open tab group, it doesn't open in a new window or pile all of them into the same window.
It also has backup and auto backup options.
The reason I was interested in Session Buddy is because I reinstalled windows and Chrome sees this new install as a different device and therefor the open tabs and tab groups did not get synced when I connected my google account, only the bookmarks.
Can Session Buddy do that ?

this is a question ive seen no one ask or answer, i want to know if you have been using session buddy for years, and you have hundreds of saved sessions, how do you back up those saved sessions to transfer to another operating system in case you have to upgrade?

I mean, that helps to some extent. But what if I want to save several windows and each already has groups and bookmarks? I knew Session buddy before, the problem is that session body doesn't save the groups you created in Chrome. So when I have opened two windows, the "main one" with hundreds of tabs, organized in groups and with bookmarks/bookmark folders and I open another window that I also saved with Session buddy and I accidentally close the main window one first, I can open the main one again, when I saved it in that I have saved in Session buddy, but I will lose all the group organization and have to recreate all the groups. Which is a pain in the ass when you have 12 Groups and 300+Tabs.

I think I understand what you are talking about. As far as I know, you can restore the chrome groupings with it. I'll see if I can find something that might help

You can use an extension called Tabox. It saves the tab groupings as well. Hope this helps.
