- You asked for it and we delivered. In this episode, LBGs Garry Adelman and Tim Smith (or is it Tim Smith and Garry Adelman?) join us to talk about the history of Gettysburg National Military Park. This episode tickles the chin of 3 hours long, but we think you'll like it anyway.
In this episode we learn about:
the first properties purchased with preservation in mind
John Bachelder's influence on the park and the narrative of the Battle of Gettysburg
Garry shares celery with Matt while Eric squirms at the chewing sound
Two Patrons ask essentially the same question with causes the sparks to fly
Garry throws celery at Matt
Matt picks it up off the floor and eats it

Excellent discussion, men. Loads of facts mixed with humor and occasional speculation,. Very enjoyable.
Thank you very much!
Cool! 😂 Tim cracks me up lol. Any plans to expand a little this year? You should have Tim and Gary back to talk about Sickles at Chancellorsville and what happened to him there. Then a part 2 about sickles decision at
Gettysburg and how the events of Chancellorsville influenced his movement. It would really expand the understanding of sickles situation on the 2nd day. We today have 150+ years of hind site. The generals at Gettysburg only had hind site from pre Gettysburg battles. Just a idea 💡. Great show as always fellas!
Thank you. We will have Garry and Tim on as often as they want to come on, although I think your Sickles idea (good one, by the way) would be better served with Jim Hessler as guest.

Excellent as always.
You can print your own version of the original books from the 19th century at Staples and sell them yourself. Sometimes it takes some effort to find them via online search. The copyrights are long-expired and attempts to protect an institutions' scans of originals have gone down in flames in the courts... Illinois at Gettysburg, I know I've found before.
I understand the Harvest of Death frustrations from G&T's perspective. There's a lot of people all over the place that are *really* sure they're right. There's been matter-of-fact articles about it since the 1990s, at least. You should ask John Heiser to come on for that. He did a Harvest of Death presentation just a couple months ago. It's on UA-cam.
Good idea. I think it should be our job to convene the five families to hash out this matter and settle it once and for all. I’ll try to get a hold of John
Don't do it. His icy stare will destroy you
no celery.......please stop
Whatchoo talkin’’bout, Willis?
