There are still thousands of 35 Remingtons in use. At typical woods ranges it's just as good as 308 Winchester or anything else. The LeverEvolution Flex Tip has made it a legitimate 200 yard cartridge. Same effect for 30-30 but the 35 has somewhat more power with the accompanying somewhat more recoil. Still plenty good at reasonable ranges for deer, black bear and even Moose. I'm almost 70 years old and have been hunting with and reloading various cartridges for 50 of those years. The current generation of young hunters needs to learn more actual hunting skills instead of worrying about how many rounds they can get off in a short time form whatever plastic stocked semi-auto a Madison Avenue ad campaign, the gun rag writers or some kid still wet behind the ears, posting U-tube videos from his mother's basement has convinced them is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
I know the 35 was kinda popular in the 80's as a black bear round in florida when we could hunt bear. To older brothers both had I think the rem 14 the pump rifle they both had the spiral mag tube so I think they were really old even in the 80's.
The Russians are going back to 35 cal with the AO-35. With modern actions and modern pressures they supply big power from a short cartridge and leave a large hole. Definitely a modern hand loaded 35 Remington in a Bolt action is a formative artillery. Imagine the new Sign Fury cartridges running over 80,000 psi pushing the backside of a .358 cal. It would have 25% more energy then a 35 Whelen.
Love my 35 Remington I’ve had it since 1983 I use exclusively for the woods in the north east it has never let me sorry I fell on it one time fucking snow broke the butt stock but replaced it good to go
the 35 remington achieve similar speeds as the 8.6 BLK (also similar weigh bullets) but it has 2 things that comes to mind in favor of the BLK, same speed out of a short barrel 8 and 12 inches, the remington get the speeds out of a 24 inch barrel, shorter than that you are not close and subsonic expanding ammo in 8.6 BLK (i dont think that 35 remington has subsonic expanding ammo),
I have never lost a deer that has been shot with a 35 Remington. I really like this round.
I own 2 lever action 35 Remington rifle's. One is an older Marlin 35 Remington the other is a gorgeous new Henry 35 Remington. I love tge 35 caliber.
My Remington 760 35 rem is my favorite deer rifle! Loaded up to about 2250 fps makes it a thumper!
I have my savage pump chamber in 35 remington and I love it wish it was cheaper to by ammo

Picked one up a year and a half ago from my late neighbor’s collection. Definitely need to take a deer with it.

Does anyone have a website where they have some ammo in stock?
I wish ammo was less expensive
